Strength:

Very comfortable car , roomy front cockpit, good sound system (for fatory)
good looks/handling (its on rails at higher speeds)ample trunk space
its just got enough power to get by.

Weakness:

cant clean the motor.black interior is hard to keep clean (but it looks good when clean). dash lights went out once

I bought mine used w/18000m on ,it was in exellent mechanical as well as
cosmetic condition and is even better now than it was (45000m) now
I keep my car well maintained oil, tires, filters etc
Ive ye to have a major prob other than the dash light problem
but I dont consider that a very big deal
I would highly reccomend the monte carlo to anyone

Strength:

The Chevrolet Monte Carlo is quite a comfortable ride. There's plenty of leg room in the driver and passenger seats, and in the four-door models, leg room isn't really an issue. A smooth ride, the Monte Carlo has quite a bit of jump to it. Acceleration is nice, and while it may not be a sports car, it moves along very nicely. The trunk is bigger than you would expect it to be at first glance; I know my golf clubs fit in there just fine. So storage space is decent here. The interior is furnished nicely, and the body design is beautiful. This car is also rather sturdy; this particular car has been through three wrecks and it still looks as good as it did the day my mom bought it. A quality, high-perfpormace car that's fun to drive.

Weakness:

It you're moving a college student into his/her dorm, you may find difficulty in storing everything. Yes, I said that the storage space in the Monte Carlo was decent, but it's not great. Plan on multiple trips, or better yet, rent a U-Haul. Also, while this car sports great leg room, there's a low ceiling, so tall people (like me) may find our head coming very close to the car's ceilng.

The Chevrolet Monte Carlo is a nice car to buy if you want performance, reliability, and safety. It may not be the flashiest thing on the road, but it's fun to drive, and very rarely do you have problems with it. And even if you do, chances are the dealer you bought it from will offer you a lifetime guarantee for service and parts. Don't expect a Viper or a Mustang here; just expect a quality automobile that does just about everything right.

Strength:

Comfortable ride, plenty of room inside. Trunk space. Has pretty good acceleration for a big car. Looks good.

Weakness:

Big turning radius. Battery is practically hidden. Works okay if you need a jump-start, but forget about trying to jump-start someone else. Front-tires worn down rather quickly. Blind-spot!!! Be sure to turn your head around before switching lanes! There is a governor on the engine that trips when the car hits 105 mph. That's terrible. They need to put some V or Z-rated tires on this thing and lose the governor.

I would recommend this car for someone who likes a lot of space inside a car, while still having a sporty exterior. Besides, this car has enough power for semi-aggressive driving. Just don't expect to go faster than 105 mph!

Strength:

The 3.8 liter (3800 series)has great pickup and throttle response. Hugs the road, especially curves. Overall sporty look (I have an aftermarket rear spoiler that looks better than the factory "bump"). Gas mileage is good considering I drive hard and fast.

Weakness:

Brakes. I had to replace the rear rotors due to rust from the inside out. They could not be turned due to the bad castings. Bad design. Head room is a little tight if you raised the seat too far. I'm 6 feet tall and just make it comfortably. This car is not for people with small children requiring carseats.

I've had no problems, other than the brakes, during the 51,000 miles I've driven this car. The car rides well, handles great. It has great accerlation off-the-line and good passing acceleration. I have every option available, except cd changer. I originally leased the car and am seriously considering buying out the lease. The 51,000 miles are all highway (interstate) miles.

To this point, the best car I've had. Looks good, handles great, great acceleration.

Strength:

So far it is starting everyday(for know, anyway)

Weakness:

The electrical system, ABS, engine.

I paid about $16 grand for this vehicle, and I would not recommend to anyone!!! It had 26K on the odo when I purchased, in very nice shape. Now, fifteen thousand miles latter: The fuel guage does not work($300 to just get it looked at); When you step on the gas you get serious spark knock, plus if you have anything on except heat(AC or vent) it disapears untill you let off the accelerator! Now 60K on the car, last week, I noticed the paint is peeling off the rub strip on the body.

Strength:

It is a head turner!! I prefer 4 doors, but the beauty of this car made me buy this one. It rides very comfortably even with a full car.

Weakness:

I have trouble starting it at times, but weather does not seem to be the factor and the dealership cannot find the problem. Battery is in awful place, and the blind spot is dangerous. I also do not like the configuration of the seat belts - the belt keeps coming out of the loop on the seat anyway

I recomend this car to a small family though the car is large for a two door. I found it to be a little too expensive, but the demand is high - so I paid it.

I have had several Monte Carlos and Luminas in the past - this beats them all by a landslide

Strength:

This is a very nice looking car, especially compared to the other cars in it's class. For example the pontiacs look too cartoonish I think. This car has pretty good acceleration for how big a car it is with only a 3.1 litre. I really like the way the car rides and it is extermely comfortable, even in the back there is alot amount of room for a two door car. Handling is pretty decent also.

Weakness:

It really does need a more power. The battery is placed horribly, don't ever let your battery go dead. The cd holder below the stereo in my car(I don't know if it is in all monte carlos)is rather ugly. This car could also use improved body rigidity and some more sensitive brakes.

Paid 10k(with 67K miles)and would do it again because it is going to last with comfort and style.

Strength:

This car rides like it's on rails for such a big car. New body style
caught my eye before I even knew what model it was.

Weakness:

V8 not available, external rear speaker amp. underpowered.

Paid $ 24,000 + and would recommend it for anyone that does not like the
small car feel of most foreign cars. NASCAR design of this car is long overdue, I can't understand why this wasn't dons sooner. Pleasure to drive
this car on a winding road & have never heard the tires squeel when makeing
very hard turns. The 2000 monty carlo SS has a nice combination of acceleration & road handling that is tough to find in a big coupe.

Strength:

The '00 is awesome. It brings back the feeling of my dads old 73 MC all ocer again. It's still big and bad and it likes to go fast. Go with an SS if you want that NASCAR feel.

Weakness:

Could be better on gas, espicially now with increasing prices. The 73 MC had radiator problems I don't know if those will show up in the new one.

This is a great car and you can get it for a good price. Go with the SS you'll be happy you did. It's loaded with some crazy interior feature that'll impress everyone.

Strength:

Styling is a big plus for the 2000. It seems to hate just city driving, but loves to cruse on the highway. Great comfort on long trips. Interior is awsome, and it definately is a head turner. Only car I ever had that will get up and go with the air conditioner on.

Weakness:

have had break problems in the front.. Breaks seem to over heat and squeel more than it should in city driving. This car is best for highway driving.. City driving wears it out.

paid a far price.. for the style, feel, handeling, and options this car is a must.
