Strength:
the only reason is the little price... mmmh, the seats are also good!
Weakness:
No handling, No brakes, brake disc broken after 6 months, front light broken twice, ashtray broken after 7 months (no way to have the spare part) neverending small troubles... I'm still trying to sell it but it's really difficult in Italy, Daewoo Italy promised a tree year warranty but there are no spare parts and most of the times they find a good reason to consider your problem out of warranty... definitely one of the worst car I owned... This is the best car I have ever driven and I just love it. My Lanos is in a very good shape and it has not had any faults. And it did not cost that much.
Weakness:
Little noise on highway, but it's not a problem. It cost in Estonia (That's in Europe) 8000 US dollars. That is a wery good bargain. I do recommend this car to everyone in the world. Similar Products Used: No comment. |

Daewoo Lanos SE
Strength:
It was cheap. For a small cheap car, the styling wasn't bad.
Weakness:
Just about everything. The quality was very poor. The breaks went after just 10,000 kms. The crome on the front grill started peeling after three months, the paint on the hood and front bumper faded badly. Did I say poor breaks? The acceleration was non-existent, the car got in its own way! Did I say poor breaks? No air bags, poor sounding stereo. Cassette player broke down repeatedly. Sun visor had to be replaced on a monthly basis. I could go on. Did I say poor breaks...? $9,000. I would not recommend this car to anyone. Indeed, I felt guilty when I sold it! I guess it's good looking...or is it?
Weakness:
Everything, the mechanics, the brakes...everything! Well, first, the car (if that's called a car) falls apart as you look at it. Riding it only makes it worse. It was the worst thing I ever bought. The toolkit should have come with it. It's not believable how many problems I had with this car: First, for no reason, the windshield came off when I was going about 60 mph. Daewoo fixed it and said it was "a manufacturer default". Then, the motor blew on me. After having that fixed, the grill-like thing in front of the car flew on the highroad and one of my back doors couldn't open nor close anymore. Oh, and the brakes only seemed to work on the left side of the car, the other side kidda gave a burnt metal smell. It's a good thing I didn't pay for the repair and I was extremely happy when I sold it at the scrap yard for 300$. WILL NEVER BUY FROM DAEWOO AGAIN. Heck, all Daewoo's good for is for TVs. And are they good at that? Similar Products Used: Lada cars. |

Everything, I've put almost 10,000 miles on it and the only problem I had was a light bulb burnt out.
Weakness:
The only thing I would change about the car is that I would like to be able to lock the driver's door without having to use the key. Trivial, but it's annoying I paid $10,500 and I would pay it again. I love this car and I would recommend it to anyone. Similar Products Used: None |

Put 300 miles on it as a weekend rental in Florida. Granted that's not exactly owning one but here are my impressions:
Weakness:
-Fairly loud engine I had fun in the Lanos. It's a nice little scoot around town car. Brand new it's a cheap, good bargain. I really don't like the fact that you have to use the key to lock it and the gas mileage was kind of disappointing. But not a bad car if mileage improved with future tanks. Good value in my opinion.
