Strength:
Very roomy.
Weakness:
Electrical problems with windows and door locks. Airconditioner, transmission. Have had a sensor replaced twice. Pulley replaced. This is not a dependable automobile. This is the worst vehicle I have ever purchased. I have three small children, have been left stranded on three occassions in the last year. I will never purchase a dodge product again. Similar Products Used: 1995 Dodge minivan. 157,000 miles and never had it in the shop. |

Intrepid ES
Strength:
It has a very powerful engine(great acceleration), and is very roomy. The electronic console is helpful during trips.
Weakness:
The engine is too powerful for the transmission! Weak air conditioning system. I would not recommend this car, although in general it has been pretty dependable. It seems like there is always something going wrong with it. Similar Products Used: None |

R/T
Strength:
Strong engine (3.5 Magnum), good handling, tons of interior room, good stereo, no stupid Canadian DRL's, no top speed limiter, looks and styling, body rigidity, runs on regular unleaded.
Weakness:
Detuned 300M engine controller, needs another 12V outlet, needs more defined rear headrests, needs rear center shoulder belt, leather would be a nice option for the R/T. @$26,500 list-paid @$24500. I would highly recommend the R/T version. I haven't driven the ES or standard, as they did not appeal to me as much as the R/T. I have driven a Concorde LXi with the same engine as the ES and it does fine, although the 3.5L Magnum in the R/T is schweet. Similar Products Used: Ford Contour SVT. The R/T has much better initial quality and Dodge has a better sales/service force (so far) than Ford. |

Dodge Intrepid
Strength:
Very smooth, responsive V-6. Huge Trunk. More than enough power, and it's a very attractive car at a reasonable price.
Weakness:
Not the greatest reliability record. I'm a young guy, only 18. I've been looking for a car for a while now, and when I saw a dodge intrpeid I fell in love. It's got great styling, a very responsive powerful engine, and (as if that wasn't enough) it's got the price I was looking for too! I've only owned my Intrepid for 2 months, and I can already tell the tranny is getting a little shaky, but other than that it's a great, all-around fun to drive car. I would rocommend it, but make sure you get the extended warranty. Similar Products Used: Ford Taurus, Toyota Camry |

Dodge Intrepid 3.5L
Strength:
Decent power, lots of room, good handling in the winter.
Weakness:
Transmission, A/C, front suspension, PCM, headlights. I bought the car with 70K on the clock. I did buy an extended warranty which helped with the A/C and PCM. I have to replace the trans now and the warranty is out. All I can recommend is doing a full history check on the veichle before you buy it. These cars are great if they are treated with some respect. I made the mistake of not checking, later found out that it was a company veichle for Revco. Fleet veichles get treated like dirt. They cheaper of course but theres a reason for it. If you do buy one of these cars I suggest starting a fund. Call it "the tranny" fund. It will go out. The first sign: you will notice a "float" in the rpms before overdrive kicks in. The second sign: the trans won't downshift into first when coming to a stop, the car feels like it's going to stall. Then you can feel it shift into first and the rpm's go back up. In closing just respect it and make sure it has a good history. Similar Products Used: I have had two previous Dodge products in the past. 1985 Dodge Aires, which I couldn't kill, and I tried. A 1996 Dodge Dakota 2wd, regular cab, with a 5.2L. Very quick, no good in the winter. |

Strength:
roomy,fast, lot of trunk space
Weakness:
power windows went out withing 2 weeks that I had the car, oil leak, transmission problems, battery too low. I do not recommend this vehicle to anybody. I have only had the car for seven months and I already encounter too many problems with this vehicle. I really need to trade it in. For a Honda! Similar Products Used: it doesn't compare to anything, dodge sucks. I should of listened to people before I bought this car. |

Its an Overall Excellent Car. I drive it like I have just stolen it! I change my Oil Every 2500 miles, Always use Quaker State 5W30, The Amazing part.. I am well over 400 000 Kilometers or about 180 000 Miles. I can prove it to Anyone who askes... I still fetch 120 Mph no problem! She Goes!!! This was Purchased After a 1990 Plymouth Laser Turbo that was all Power but alot of grief... with the intrepid,.... Still got the Power!
Weakness:
The Repairs,... CV Boots, Oil Pan and a Map Sensor. There had been a tranny change some time before I had bought it. I rate it as such cause at 400 000 kilometers,.. no matter how you drive it, if it hit those numbers that easily,.. its earned some stars. I pat Chrysler on the Back for that one. Similar Products Used: Second Car,.. My First was a 90 Laser turbo. It Couldn't Keep up with me.. |

Size, style, options.
Weakness:
Been in the shop a few times, for minor items. The Intrepid has great looks. I like the space inside, lots of leg room in the backseat and trunk. The fold down seats are great for hauling items. It drives nice and is very comfortable. |
