Strength:

-It is an extremely roomy and comfortable car. Took a trip in July. All 5 of us had no room or comfort problems.
-Somehow, it has been very reliable. I haven't properly maintained it like I should, and I drive it too hard. No problems in the 2 years we've owned it.
-The base engine has plenty of power for passing, merging, etc.
-For a base model, it has everything I could want.

Weakness:

-Of course, headlights do not have luminosity and range. I could glue a flashlight to the front of the car and have better range and brightness. For the size of the car, it should have decent headlights.
-clearcoat paint is peeling of in areas, especially the bumpers.
-Bumpers are worthless. My son was kidding around and tapped the back bumper. There is a white mark. He wasn't even going 3mph! In a 5mph hit, they'd probably be destroyed.
-Gas mileage is surprisingly decent for a full-size car. On the trip, avg. 25-29 mpg hwy. My son's Neon gets around 20-23 mpg hwy and it is a compact!

Overall, this car has been a great investment. Took it down to the beach and back with no problems at all. My brother's car was too small for his trip, so they took the Intrepid. It has gone 800 miles in less than 3 weeks without having major problems. Good car for the money. Excellent for the family. Bought it back in 1998 with 25K on the odometer. It now has 75K. I expect to keep it for a very long time. I have no problems with that!

It is much smaller and nosier, but it has a lot of power, room, and comfort for a small car. The Neon's headlights are pretty good.

Strength:

Stylish, roomy, fun to drive, great HP.

Weakness:

None, all these people giving Intrepids a bad name should be asked if they properly maintained their car. For instance, do you change the oil at 3,000 miles or do you let it go 10,000. These ridiculous accusations about tranny problems are probably because they used generic brand fluids and not the ones specified by Chrysler. My 93 ES model has 90,000 miles and original everything except tires and muffler. Timing belts will break, transmissions will go out, and A/C problems will happen. That's unavoidable for all cars so stop whining. I'm sorry but if you're on your 3rd transmission with only 75,000 miles then you should check how bad your driving is.

15,995 used. With a promise of proper maintenance I would recommend it to anyone.

Strength:

Large interior makes it easy for a 6 foot and 5 inch guy like myself to fit in and out of and drive. Suspension feels crisp and sturdy.
Engine is responsive, quite, and trouble free.

Weakness:

Rear viewing is difficult.
Many blind spots.
Driving in snow feels like your pushing it rather than driving over it.

I would recommed this car to anybody who likes feel of a large luxuary car but performance of a sporty sedan. I know Intrepids of the past has flaws but this one really makes you believe that all of those problems are a thing of the past.
In one year I have put 35,000 miles on it and yet to see any engine flaws or body integrity problems. Dodge knew what they were doing with this car.

Strength:

Nice power
Nice looks
Very comfortable and roomy
Big trunk
A/C great with no probs

Weakness:

Original tranny, but slips..will try Chrylsler tranny fluid.
Headlights have weak pattern. Trunk hits your head.
Have replaced: water pump, rotors, starter, 3 batteries(all free from Sears).

I bought this slightly used (17,000 miles) in late 94, and have been somewhat happy with it. I now have 112,000 miles and think I've gotten my $15,000 worth out of it. I'm looking at the new Chrysler 300M's.

Strength:

Looks nice, decent amount of power.

Weakness:

Not a very well built car, so far the rear door panel has come loose, also
the weather striping on the same door is falling off, and last but not least the car has developed an oil leak that requires the head to be
replaced(has been in the shop for 8 days so far)only has 19,000 miles!

20,000 paid or should I say lost? The car rides nice, looks nice, and has
plenty of power, not recommended for those who need a reliable vehicle, or
lack the time and patience to deal with the repairs.

Strength:

Power, roominess, big trunk, built-in child seat.

Weakness:

water pump, air conditioning, transmission

I paid approximately 10,000 for this car, used. That was 10,000 too much. The water pump went out on this car and because it's timing belt driven the repairs are over $500. The air conditioning is out AGAIN and that's going to be over $1000 to fix. Unfortunately, living in Texas in sometimes 100+ degree temps air conditioning is a necessity in a vehicle. This is the first and last time I will ever own a Dodge/Chrysler product. It needs another tune-up as it is now only running on 4 cylinders instead of 6. The spark-plug wires are $60 a piece. I would not recommend this car to anyone. In fact, I would recommend they run screaming in the other directions. I am definitely going back to Ford. The repairs are easier and less expensive.

Strength:

Car is quick and a good size.

Weakness:

Here is a summary of work done in the last 3 years:
1 waterpump that broke the timing belt, 1 transmission, 2 fuel rails (1 was a recall), 3 Air conditioning Condensers, 1 suspension component recall, 1 EGR valve, 1 speed sensor, a broken headligh bezel bracket (car was not hit), intermittend Climate control problems - fan goes to hi and stays there unless you punch the dashboard as hard as you can.
The rest is all regular maintenance. Transmission service packs are WAY too expensive.

Paid $17500 Canadian. ES model.
VERY dissapointed to say the least.
I will NEVER buy another Chrysler again.
This car is an absolute lemon.
