Strength:

Shocking handling Great speed Race feel Gives satisfaction

Weakness:

Thin tires, but still amazing performace No auto windows in the back, only front.

Good Stuff: You like torque? HA! This baby has it all! Ran with the Evo and came head to head, lost by a hair. Srt-4 shows what dogde is all about. Brought back some spirit. Smokes most high end car, and makes some expensive cars look like crap compared to the SRT-4. I give it 5 stars for the price and eng.

Things I love: 1. The rediculous amount of power - it's unbelieveable that this is a 4 cyl 2. The viper-style seats. They are really, really cool 3. The handling. It has a pretty stiff suspension, and you can easily take corners twice as fast as any suv. 4. The gauges. The gauge cluster, and autometer boost gauge are in excellent view, look cool, and are clean and easy to read. 5. The stereo. The first thing I do with any car is replace the head unit for a nice aftermarket piece. 10k+ miles, and I haven't done it with the SRT-4 yet. The quality of the stereo is very good for a stock system, but if you're an audiophile, you'll still want to change it out. 6. the exhaust. oooo - the exhaust note sounds sooo good. I especially like how it pops and gurgles in a downshift... so nice... 7. the build - everything is where you want it to be as a driver, and they built this car right. They have a sick 8 row Valeo intercooler, some nice 17" alloy rims, functional hood scoop, and great suspension. 8. The aftermarket. Dodge/Mopar/PVO has already released some great upgrades for cheap, if you want to get even more out of a great car. Some people are running low 13 sec runs in the 1/4 mile with only maybe $1000 in mods so far...

Weakness:

And of course - some things that irk me about the car. 1. The turning radius. It sux. 'nuff said. 2. if you're a wide guy, you might not like the viper seats as much, but there is an option to have some less constraining seats put in. 3. The tires are pretty thin - I would like to see some wider tires on there. It still handles like a monster though. 4. No AWD. All Wheel-Drive. the subaru WRX has it, and i relly wish i could get it, but the cost is just too much. the lack of awd doesn't really make as much of a difference as you migh think though. 5. manual rear windows. actually - I don't care at all about this. I don't sit in the back. it's my car. ;)

This is without a doubt the most fun I have had with a car in a long time. I wanted an affordable car that had some good power, and was reliable. I got the SRT-4. It is amazing. One test drive, and I was sold. I also looked at the Mazdaspeed protege, the Mazda 6, the Subaru WRX, and the Ford SVT Focus. they all sucked, or cost too much.

hope this helps any prospective buyers... I have had no problems at all, and am almost at 11,000 miles. I also like the 7yr/70,0000 warranty. that's nice. ~WF

lsd, strong pull, nice seats SUN ROOF! fast as hell for the price, ON EVO AND STI NUTTS for 10k cheaper..

Weakness:

fwd, power windows. THATS IT. ( i dont personally have anything to complain about, i love it all)

everyone who owns an evo thinks they are the shiz nat. untill they run on a srt-4 and realize they WILL NOT SHAKE A COMPLETE stock srt-4. from a dead stop, the car is right on the evo's back door if you drive well. i have aem intake on mine and sooon buying a full 3" turbo back and i promis all you evo freaks even with your cat back exhaust and intake, a turbo back/ intake srt-4 will pull on your faces. dont cry about the 10k extra you payed, just face the fact. people who bought the srt-4 are price efficent and smart.

Strength:

-15 psi turbo -Roomy interior -LSD -Easy to tune -Suspension is already decent, but has plenty of potential -Awesome performance for the price

Weakness:

-17" tires are tall enough, but not wide enough to effectively transfer power to the pavement. -Neons have earned themselves a poor reputation, will this car prove to be better?

An all-around awesome car. 0 - 60 time is 5.8 (stock 2004 model), and the 1/4 mile time is 13.8. A stock Mitsu Evolution 8 does a 1/4 mile in low 13's, but it costs $10,000 more. Also, Evo's are AWD, so it's a bit like comparing apples to oranges. The 2004 SRT's come stock with a LSD and the better fuel injectors that were half of the stage one upgrade for the 2003 models. An upgraded PCM (the other half of that upgrade) is available that ups the turbo boost during WOT and improves turbo lag if you're a good shifter. I understand that not everyone likes the way SRT's look - you either love 'em or you hate 'em. With just the few inexpensive modifications that I've made (BOV, cold air intake, wastegate act., boost controller and PCM), the thing screams! I get 0-60 in under 5 seconds but still have awesome mileage (28mpg). The only bad thing I've found with the car, is that it gets slammed all over the internet by kids who doubtlessly don't own, and have never driven one. Jealousy is an ugly, ugly thing. Also, I've heard people complaining that the front windows are automatic but the back two are roll-ups. So what's your point? You can't drive from the back seat! Besides, if that's the only feature you could find to complain about. . . . . .Also, I understand that the 2003 models had poor synchros, the short shift kit and stiffer bushings really seem to help with smoothing out your shifting (friend of mine owns a 2003, he was a big influence in my buying a 2004.) For $20,000 I think these cars are a steal.

its such a peppy car, FAST!, great interior styling, great seats that really hold you in place and are comfortable too, a great sounding car

Weakness:

it could have stiffer suspension, my neon acr version has much better handeling but this is not a real problem, you can purchace acr springs and they easily fit onto the srt-4; could use a better sterio but what car woudnt; i have driven lots of cars and this car is fantastic, anyone who says otherwise is a forign car lover who is hurt by the awesomeness of this car

the srt-4 is a great car stock but it is marketed as a car intended for modification. i recently installed a blow off valve which is an excelet addition to the car. i also put stiffer springs on it. it handled great before but i am used to a really rough ride and it dose handle better with compition springs. i also installed a short throw shifter. this car is one awesome machine. i love the car. it is fantastic. it has a great price too compaired to other cars in its class.

LSD,Turbo spool, Exhaust, handling, Viper replica seats, very roomy, parts are cheap and available

Weakness:

Understeer, 17x6 inch stock wheels

This is my 2nd SRT-4. I originally purchased an 03 Black SRT-4 but ended up crashing it. I loved the car so much I went out and got myself the 04 SRT-4 in Electric Blue. This car is very underated when you compare it to an EVO, STI, GTI, MazdaSpeed or any vehicle that has a Turbo. You save yourself about $10k when you buy an SRT-4 as compared to an EVO and STI which are both overpriced. Sure the EVO and STI are faster stock wise, but with the money being saved by purcasing an SRT-4 you can easily modify the car by purchasing MOPAR parts which are warrantied by any Dodge dealer. I paid $25k for mine because I purchased it Modified from the dealer. The dealer added what they call an SRT-4 performance package which included, Boost Controller, Wastegate Actuator, Intake, Springs and Struts, EB Links, ES Bushings, Mopar Exhaust, Mopar BOV, 18" Racing Harts GT5. After driving this SRT-4 I knew it was the right decision cause its an American car and all the parts are warrantied. If you have never driven an SRT-4 please do not critcize the car. Its very explosively fast, hugs the turns, interior is very nice, Viper replica seats never let you go, very nice front facia with the Intercooler showing. If your looking for a Turbo car the right choice is an SRT-4. Why, because its $10k less then an EVO or STI and its american, meaning parts are cheap and available right away.

Brakes, exhaust sound, acceleration, seats, instrument cluster. Lets just say interior. Smooth ride, great handling,

Weakness:

I haven't noticed any.

The SRT-4 is without question the best car on the market for the money. These people who give bad opinions of this car obviously don't own one. They are just trying to knock down the rating. I've seen about 6 or 7 bad ratings, most who own ricers. This car is so smooth, very fast, awesome brakes, sweet sound of dual exhaust. The car sounds like a V8 rather than a 4 cylinder. Id bet people who rated this car don't even own one, they just try and knock it, maybe out of jealousy, who knows. Nonetheless, this car is extremely fun to drive, much more than my 87 Mustang 5.0 GT.

all of you stating you hang with vettes are full of it. this car runs low 14's stock, vettes run low 13's. this car is good for the price, but i burn way too much oil then i should be. i expect to burn some since this car is turbo but 1qt evry 500 miles. also, i've had the axles replaced along with the tires. its fast but not too great on the autoxx course. this car is good at going fast in a straight line, but nothing else. also, for the guy stating he wants to drift, this car is fwd, that won't work. i like my car but i can't take people making my car what it is not and now everybody wants to race me.
