Good power, runs smooth, looks nice. Great gas mileage.

I've put more money into fixing this car than in the other 3 vehicles I've owned combined. I just had to get an idle control motor (if you buy this part from the dealer, it's over $400. Get it from forddiscountparts.com, it's $278). I just found out I have a blown spark plug boot & wire. Second major problem this WEEK. I've invested WAY more into fixing this thing than I wanted to.

I paid $6,400. I'd recommend it if you have a backup budget for spare parts & eventual failure of parts. Reliable for short distances, but not the ideal car for a road trip. Nice fun car, sporty car, fun 5 speed, it was fun to own until the problems started. It would take a lot of convincing to gt me to even consider buying another one. As far as I'm concerned, mine's approprately named. Anal Probe.

Smoothly running V6. Plenty of torque, picks up really fast. Nice traction on dry road and handling. Hard suspension that letts you feel every curve on the road. Very comfortable front seats. Pretty good sound system inside, even has a small 6.5" sub :). Good looks, goes up to 110 mph easy, then it's sorta struggling to get over 120. But handles awsome even at these speeds.

Gas mileage is awfull. This 2.5 Litter V6 goes about 20-21 mpg. I would also like this car to have som emore power. I had to replace front axels because of cv joints, well maybe it's just my luck. I also have some suspicions about ABS, it's not quet what i've been used to, or it simply is broken. Paint is F@#$%d up on the hood a little bit. No space in the back seats.

Over all the car is pretty good. Although it's the same as MX-6, except for a different body and better looks :) it costs about 2 grand less. Fast, controllable. With WeaponR Intake system and MaxSpeed dual exhaust sets off antitheft alarms in parked cars :) so much fun! Very comfortable front seats, but no space in the back for people over 6' high. If you are looking for a car this size, I suggest spend extra 2-3 grand and get a prelude, especially the VTEC one.

THIS PARTICULAR CAR HANDLES LIKE A SPORTS CAR SHOULD AND I LOVE THE 0-110 EXCELERATION ON IT. FORD HAS HAD A BAD REUTATION FOR THEIR CARS BUT THIS FORD IS TRULY A WINNING CAR. WELL, I GOT THIS CAR AS AN 18TH BIRTHDAY PRESENT FORM MY PARENTS AND IT WAS ABOUT $6,000.00 AND FOR THAT PRICE IT RUNS LIKE A CHAMP.WHEN I BOUGHT IT, IT HAD 85,000 MILES ON IT AND NOW IT HAS ALMOST 93,000 WITH NO PROBLEMS EXCEPT THE DRIVE TRAIN. NOW I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS CAR FOR A FAMILY JUST BECAUSE IT IS SMALL IN THE BACK. FOR THE SINGLE MIDDLE AGED GUYS OR THE TEENAGE CLASS I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTROD FORD/MAZDA TO ANYONE THAT WANTS TO HAVE THE FEELING OF HANDLING CORNERS AND EXCELERATING LIKE A ROCKET SHIP. deffinately needs a new horn, it has a so called "pus** horn"

Car handles well. Has decent acceleration and top speed. The clutch is very good, the shifter is smooth. A v-6 that redlines at 7 grand is a good thing. I think this car is very fun to drive.

Reliability. 2 regular oil leaks, 1 transmission oil leak, and a belt tensioner, and a hole in the front exhaust pipe. The car is leaking oil again this month. Otherwise routine maintenance. Rattles like crazy, cup holder is a joke, way too much plastic in interior.

I paid 13k for the car in 1997 with 24k miles on it. You can get them used for cheap. It is not as reliable as I hoped, but it is fun to drive and that is important for me. Others have had better luck with theirs in terms of reliability. I would opt for a foreign car next time around. If you find a good deal on one and you want a good sunday ride, then I would buy one. I am glad that I bought mine. I also think it is a very nice looking car.

small back seat

This is a great car I just bought it and everyday I look forward to driving it. Its such a fun car to have it makes you want to drive for hours. Its also fast for a little car and as much as I love Grand Prixs it leaves them in the dust. All and all a great car and money well spent.

very nice handling, very quick out of the punch, the standards can really screw... parts are not all that hard too find, you just have to know where to look. haven't had any problems with the brakes. love the color. 164Hp is not enough for me, but if you look at most of the v8's today and in the yester years, they (being stock only pumped out about 200 to 250Hp) so being a v6 and having 164 it's not all that far from 200. and if you look at what I got and what I've paid 250 to 275 is not all that hard(and i don't care what any one says the price is not all that bad.!!) yeah its mazda all right, a mazda cap... every thing eles is ford, ford block,ford valves, ford gear ratio, ford chassie...people think just because its a mazda cap that is it's a ricer i beg to differ. ford enginers got together with mazdas and made both the mazda mx6 and mx7 along side the probes 2.5 if you are looking for parts those are the engins to look for. the probe was fords idea and it came first.(just like chryster uses mitsubishi parts dose that make chrysler a ricer???)

the stopping power could be faster. 2nd and 3rd or the grunt gears could be a lower ratio. hard time looking for ground effects(manly the back bumper for duel muffs}that little cutt out...)interrior is pointless needs leather(better color skeem) black and grey just to over done. back seat too small(but what do i use a back seat for.)that's what a house is for.engin is very hard to clean dust (ect). chassie way to heavy 2,921 lbs is way to heavy for that size car if it was 2400 lbs that would be diffrent

if you are a person wanting to buy a probe. look at the price first if it's in the $9k or 10k area pick it up, I love mine, yeah it has it's qwuirks but every car does. i bought a short ram air kit for $125 i got a throttle spacer for $35 i have headers for it $450 that was a little pricy ,but your paying import price and i'm certain the sell them for lower. i got a glassbacks for it (super coil, msd ignition system pumpin 60,000 watts) right there is 285Hp dyno tested. and i have not even got into the big stuff yet like cams,bores,cranks,ported & realived heads,thottle bodies, ect. if you are lookin for performance this is the car to go. to be honest with you i've raced tons of 5.0s i kicked there butts..!! it's a very nice sleeper. AND I'M NOT EVEN A FORD FAN I'M A MOPAR HEAD...!!

Nice car if you want a sporty car but dont need performance to back it up. This transmission is a little weak, and it hogs gas. If you want speed for around the same price, go with a camaro or firebird

The Probe i have has only 33K on the clock. Prices are dropping fast therefore they are a good buy.

My mate hated Probes never sat in one until he drove my one. He is now thinking of getting one himself. He drives a BMW 325i.(TOO COMMON)

If your thinking of getting one don't think just get one.
