Strength:

I think it has great pick-up. and the steering is great. i can whip around curves at extra-legal speeds. the interior is very smooth and has nice seats. People always think the car is much newer because of the sleak lines and curves.

Weakness:

The problems i have found with my car sofar is the ignition. it seems to have a lot of ignition problems. and also the front end.. I have had a few things replaced haveing to do with the whole front suspension and steering. Also a few interior noises i cant pinpoint.

Overall I think my 1993 Ford Probe Gt is a great car. There are a few problems as with any car but It proforms great. I realy have no major complants except that the mechanics in the car are all mazda and that means parts are expensive. but thats life. Its a good car.

Strength:

-Great Handling
-Great Braking
-Smooth Acceleration
-Sleek Looks

Weakness:

-Low resale value

This is one of the best sporty cars out there. Hands down the best handling and braking in it's class. Outperforms most all other cars in it's class - namely the Integra, Eclipse, 240SX, and the MX6. Excellent looks and great ergonomics. I haven't had any problems with my Probe during the whole time I've owned it.

Strength:

Smooth accelerating, high-rev V6. Excellent handling, road manners, smooth bodylines, nice interior appointments. Leather interior is a MUST option, as is the moonroof.

Weakness:

Lack of aftermarket performance parts available, mostly due to ricers. Hard ride due to sport suspension. Automatic transmission is a forgettable option.

This is a great car to own. Never mind the repair bills. There are quite a few owner's groups to help any prospective buyer with support and questions, as well as good online parts sources.

Also keep in mind that the 2nd generation Probe was either near the top or at the top of the list of its class for 5 years, and was considered a 'Best Buy' by most automotive publications. In fact, the 1993 GT model was named Motor Trend Car of the Year. Name a ricer that can claim that distinction.

Strength:

*Silky smooth engine - purrs like a kitten above 3500 RPM
*Flat torque band - passing at 3500 RPM is a cinch
*Great looks - car is sleek and unique - like no other
*Superb handling - wide tires and good suspension magically straighten even the wicked esses
*Interior ergonomics are the best on any sports coupe - smooth and attractive
*Huge room for cargo or stereo system

Weakness:

*Could have used 20 more hp
*Auto tranny reduces performance

The only other cars I would drive besides my Probe: BMW M3 or Acura NSX...nothing else will touch the combination of a smooth engine, sweet/unique looks inside and outside, capable handling, great evryday driveability, solid fuel economy, and upgrade potential. Other cars may better my Probe in one area or the other, but none will offer the sweet combination of all of the above.

RIDES GOOD, GETS UP TO SPEED, CUTE CAR, I LOVE IT, EXCEPT FOR ALL THE PROBLEMS. GOOD ON GAS!!! RIDES SMOOTH!!

Weakness:

DOOR DOESN'T WANT TO OPEN, BAD SPEAKERS, FOG LIGHTS DONT WORK, SMALL BACK SEAT, ALOT OF PROBLEMS WITH CAR, EXPENSIVE PARTS, HARD TO GET FIXED, VERY BAD PAINT JOB, SOMETHING NEW IS WRONG WITH IT EVERY WEEK. WHEN IT RAINS OR GETS WASHED IT, WATER LEAKS THROUGH THE WINDOWS EVEN WITH THE WINDOWS TIGHT AS POSSIBLE!! SOMETIMES THE HEAT AND AIR WORKS SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T!!

IT IS A GOOD CAR, BUT BE PREPARED TO PAY ALOT OF MONEY JUST ON FIXING IT!!

Strength:

its a decently quick car, if i can keep my foot off the gas it gets great fuel economy over 30mpg on highway, but that never happens i usually peel out at half the lights, 20 mpg, and this car does attract girls

Weakness:

holds the road like glue and when you get over used to that it could cost you.

I fixed this car from its totaled $700 state to a better than new car. A year later i let the handling abilities get to my head, 55mph around a 20mph opositely banked turn and i went through a fence and into a tree! I'm still driving it even though my door barely opens and my mirror is held on with glue and paper clips and half the paint shattered off the bumper. My car will be looking good again someday. I really like this car and so do the females!

Handles amazingly, looks good! Nice amount of cargo room.

Weakness:

Not the fastest, also eats tires for breakfast.

So far, (6 months) the car has been nearly perfect. Seems like the tires wore out pretty quick.

Strength:

Acceleration, handling. Great driving experience -- it's a BLAST!! Tight 5-speed manual transmission. Classic sports car styling.

Weakness:

Rear hatch pistons, small back seating.

My experience (original owner, 97K mi) has been great. I like everything about the car. The seats look and feel great the way the hug you. Feels like driving a 'vette, but affordable. Great performance in a small car. Performs as well as Mustang, Camaro, and Firebird, but much less expensive. I would never sell it if I didn't have kids and need the van. Few maintenance problems - even after nearly 100K miles. Just minor tune-up and exhaust stuff. Everyone loves the look of the car. It drives great and you feel awesome driving it -- gets a lot of looks. My wife loves it too. She enjoys the sporty feel, the handling and the speed. Great car if you don't have to carry adults or car seats in the back. However, the fold-down seats and hatchback have been very handy for hauling stuff.

Similar Products Used:

95 Grand Am, 96 Jetta: Other than rear seating, the Probe beats 'em both. I loved my Jetta and got 200K+ miles out of it. But the Probe is more solid, handles better, is more fun to drive, and my 4 cylinder accelerates like a V6. The Grand Am and Jetta feel like sleds when compared to the Probe, and don't look as sporty either.
