Strength:

Beautiful car. I had it for 5 1/2 years, and it never broke down on me. The tires lasted 63k, brakes to 60k. Always a head-turner (but ALWAYS get a spoiler - makes a huge difference), durable interior. This car loved to go 90 on the freeway - I really had to watch it. Also had outstanding gas mileage - once got almost 50 mpg when driving cross country. I would recommend a Honda to anybody who wants quality and durability. I got hooked on Hondas after a terrible experience with Pontiac, and have never looked back. Unfortunately, American cars don't hold a candle to the quality of Hondas.

Weakness:

Air conditioning drain got clogged once a year without fail. Power window motors went out twice (but Honda service always took care of this under warranty).

The Accord is the ultimate in comfort and style for value. Just traded my 95 Accord in for a 2001 Accord EX-L fully loaded, which also looks like it will be an incredible car for the money. All Hondas also really hold their value, much more than any other type of car I've seen.

Model Reviewed: Accord EX 4 cyl-auto

Strength:

The accord has plenty of room in the front and rear seats.
The car is comfortable for long trips.
The 6 speaker stereo system is clear and sounds good at high volume.

Weakness:

Interior parts squeak and rattle when driving at low speeds.
Paint chips way too easily!
On driveways (not steep), car rolls back even when in drive.
Air conditioning vents are not well placed - should be located lower on the dash.
More color choice for exterior paint. Satin metallic silver should be available in EX.

The car is worth the price I paid. I would reccomend the accord, but maybe the V6.

Model Reviewed: , same as though except the side airbag

Strength:

More power than 4 cyl. Climate control ( but read below ), CD play as standar ( but read below )

Weakness:

Climate control will not function after 2 hrs driving,(it happened after 1 months I bought the car, it's still happening right now, if i drive long distant ) went to honda service, they said I couldn't duplicate the failure, what the heck ? I told them it wont happen untill long hrs driving. they said they have to drive my car two hours to see the failure, then fix it. It kinda make sense what they said but then they should have check all the chip inside. This nothing but the integrated chip inside will not work when it get hot, that's it, when it cooled down, then it's okay. but till now, i have to live with it. If I drive long distance, I have to stop for break for 1/2 hrs before I can drive again. If you thinking about buying this car, just this model, please think again, because I think honda didn't do characterization very well on their IC (integrated chip), characterization mean the IC should be have a life test, long hours burn in, to ensure this probem, the problem I have right now won't happen. This is certainly called intermitment failure, and the Honda dealer DID NOT do anything with that, even though I brought my car back only 2 months after I bought the car. AGAIN, PLEASE BE CAREFUL when buying this model. OR YOU WILL BE PISSED JUST LIKE ME, and GO THOUGH WHAT I WENT THOUGH, belive me, it's NO FUN.

The value is good, but overall rating is RISKY. So I give it one star then.
I give it NEGATIVE 5 star if I could, for the service...Oh one more thing, the speaker SOUNDS SUCK

Strength:

Decent acceleration considering its a 4 cyl (and automatic). Exceptionally smooth drive for a 9 year old car. Very reliable. No rust (yet). Great gas mileage. Very comfortable, lots of space. Nice looking car (for a sedan).

Weakness:

Heat knob always gets stuck. Automatic shifting could be smoother.

I am thinking of buying a new car but finding it difficult to part with this car. It drives beautifully and only has 103 K's. It could last a lot longer. I have heard that the 90-93 accords are extremely well built, and my car has definetely proved that.

Model Reviewed: Sedan EX-V6

Strength:

-Looks great, won't look dated a few years from now.
-Fun to drive. Maybe not like a BMW, but better than a Camry or Taurus.
-Great handling, easy to manuever in freeway traffic.
-Spacious, able to fit three adults in the back with a good amount of legroom.
-Very comfortable. I could sit in the driver's seat for hours.
-Great stereo considering it's from the factory. Honda uses Alpine.
-Flawlessly designed dashboard, easy-to-use.
-Automatic climate control works great.
-CD player standard.
-Lots of storage space. Can store 20 CDs in center storage bin.
-Deep glove compartment.
-Good sized trunk.
-Alarm.
-Michelin tires.
-Steering wheel mounted audio controls.

Weakness:

-No Traction Control(at least before 2001).
-Cheap Wood Accents.
-Leather is a little cheap.
-Cup holders not adjustable.
-Ride is a little too sensitive to changes in tire pressure.
-The gray interior should be a shade lighter.
-No power seat for the passenger.
-No seat heaters.
-Small rearview mirror that is not auto-dimming.
-Difficult to judge where the rear bumper is when parallel parking.
-A bit too much road and wind noise. Keep the stereo on and you won't notice.
-Cupholders right in front of armrest.
-No heated mirrors, at least no separate button for it.
-Paint chips too easily.

If you're looking for the kind of car that's great for everyday driving, has a little sportiness to it, is comfortable, safe, spacious, has good handling and a pretty smooth and quiet ride, is affordable, makes a good family car, and looks good without drawing attention to you, the Accord EX-V6 is your best bet. Looks best in Black with the Grey interior.

Compared the Acura TL, Infiniti I30, Lexus ES300, Toyota Camry, Nissan Maxima, Volkswagon Passat, Audi A6, BMW 528i. The ES300, A6, and 528i were too expensive. The Camry was too boring. The Maxima was too harsh. The Passat was too small. The TL and the I30 were my top choices, with the TL being slightly better, but the lease on both was more than I was willing to pay.

GETS 40MPG IN THE SUMMER WITH 87 OCTANE GAS. RUNS LIKE A NEW CAR, AND IS FAST! BOUGHT IN 1994 WHEN RETIRED AFTER 30 YEARS NAVY, HAD 112,000 ON IT. NOW HAS 265,000 ON ORIGINAL ENGINE. ONE OF THE QUIETEST CARS I EVER OWNED. DRIVE MOSTLY HIGHWAYS HERE IN THE NORTHWEST. NOT MUCH SNOW, BUT BLACK ICE. DRIVES AROUND 4WD VEHICLES STUCK WHEN IT DOES SNOW. ONLY USED CHAINS ONCE. THE INTERIOR SEEMS INDESTRUCTABLE, AND THE ORIGINAL PAINT SHINES BRIGHT. CANNOT AFFORD TO SELL OR TRADE. LONGEST CAR I EVER OWNED. THIS IS A KEEPER!!

Weakness:

I GET ALL OF MY WORK DONE AT THE HONDA DEALER. WHY IS IT SO EXPENSIVE?? JUST PAID $600 TO REPLACE THE DRIVER DOOR ELEC WINDOW SYSTEM. NOW I NEED THE HEADLIGHT WIRE UPGRADE, RIGHT SIDE DIM WITH NEW BULB, DEALER SAYS RETRACTABLE HEADLIGHTS DO THIS. AGAIN, LOVE THE DEALER WORK, BUT ALWAYS BIG BUCKS

BOUGHT SEVEN YEARS AGO FOR $4999.00. WHAT A BARGAIN. GOT IT FROM ORIGINAL OWNER STANDING ON THE LOT TO BUY A NEW CAR. MAINTENANCE, MAINTENANCE, MAINTENANCE!!! AT 265,000 MILES, THE OIL IS STILL BLONDE WHEN I CHANGE IT AT 3,000 MILES. DEALER SAYS HE HAS OTHERS OVER 400,000 ON ORIGINAL ENGINE, IF YOU TAKE CARE OF IT. I DON'T LIKE THE NEWER ACCORDS, NOT THE NICE SQUARE AND LOW LOOK. OLDER HONDAS RULE!!!

Strength:

I like the color of my car. Interior is nice and comforable. Style is nice and sporty.

Weakness:

Sucks up a lot of gas. I think its a little expensive. It's over priced.

After three months in to my new Honda Accord, I had trouble with my transmission. They had to replace my entire transmission. About six months later my window washer nozzle was defected, had that replaced as well. I am now very cautious driving my car, thinking when its going to break down on me. Service at Honda isnt very good either. If you drive alot and put lots of mileage on your car, this is not a car for you. Its not even a year old and I have to replace my rear brakes!(its at 22kmiles)

I think the Toyota Camary or Avalon is a much better deal. And more reliable.

Strength:

Fuel economy; decent looks; quality design; fairly easy to work on; oversized washer fluid reservoir; accurate cruise control; fairly powerful and comfortable.

Weakness:

Extremely high maintenance; cost of original parts; subject to rust behind doors and rear wheel wells.

This car was bought used in 1997, so the history is unknown. It now has 210,000 kms (131,000 miles). For the first two years it ran problem free but as it approached the eight year mark it seems to have self-imploded. Fortunatley I am able to do a lot of the work myself otherwise I would be bankrupt. In the last year I have replaced: (From front to back) radiator, battery, rotors, starter, distributor, igniter, PCV Valve, windshield due to rust - twice, numerous instrument bulbs, radio and muffler. On top of that all the standard wear and tear items. This car is also high maintenace in that the timing belt must be replaced regularly, valves adjusted regularly and ignition timing checked regularly. It has recently developed a rough idle and I suspect the EGR ports in the intake manifold are clogged, which I have been told is common, similar to the poor driver side door seals and faulty fuel level sending unit. Fortunately the car is manual as I would hate to think what the automatic transmission is like. In all fairness the car has been decent, but I would not buy another Honda at this point.

I like the power, shape, and how little gas it consumes.

Weakness:

I don't like the rims on the car. They didn't seem to go with the car body at all.

I thought that I've paid too much for the car. I thought that the car's price should've been a little lower(maybe by about two thousand dollars). If the price did go down a bit, I would gladly recommend it.
