Strength:

I like the color (black currant) of the car.

Weakness:

*Horrible transmission (had it replaced after two years)
*Noisy/squeky interior, especially moon roof
*Paint scratches to easily
*Loud road and wind noise
*Seats are very uncomfortable, especially during long rides
*Service & dealer support extremely poor
*Slow 200hp engine
*Expensive to maintain
*Remote key not consistent
*Noisy engine
*After I reached a certain mileage the starter makes a funny noise sometimes and I was told that was normal.

I would not recommend this car and I definitely would not purchase another Honda product. I have been very dissatisfied with the Honda Service Department in the Los Angeles area. This car is not what I expected for the price I paid. My car is extremely noisy and I have taken it to the dealer on several occasions. I have even paid $110 to have the engine flushed. The car is still noisy.

My advise is if you own this car have the transmission flushed every 15,000 so your transmission will not fail you as mine did. This was the advice offered by one of the service advisors at Honda. I was told that the transmission does not have a filter to collect dirt and debris.

I often say that I should have added a few thousand dollars and purchased the BMW 328i.

I would not recommend that anyone purchase a Honda Accord EX V6. It is a little pricey for all of the defects. The only real plus to the car is the color, but there are a lot of other cars that come in black currant.

Strength:

A reliable car, a decent engine for it's kind. Great for everyday driving. A good aftermarket for this car, a lot of room for performance upgrades.

Weakness:

I have a 5spd, the shifting is poor, and for its sporty look (Coupe) the engine could have a bit more power, maybe a DOHC? The interior is too conservitive and does not match the sporty exterior.

I would reccommend it for families (coupe or sedan). They should have made the coupe sportier all around and not just the outside. Great engine reliability and there is always room for some abuse with that VTEC.

Second Honda I've owned,it seems that everything BUT motor breaks or needs replacing on Hondas.Odometer stopped working,Some stange noise from under vehicle, only happens once every 5 minutes????A/C robs a lot of power from engine.

Paid 7,000 not bad car is mint.I would recommend it for reliability if you can sacrifice an occasional minor repair, should easily see 200-250,000 miles from motor

Strength:

Love the interior. Has a great feel. Pretty smooth. All the functions are really handy.

Weakness:

I think it needs more rubber. Maybe slap on some 17" weels. It takes it too long to feel the Vtech kick in. For a car that is 200hp, it should have more torque. Feels weak at times. Trunk space is perfect for a sub-woofer with plenty room to spear. For such a big car the sound quality is very poor. Good enough for a person that just bought it for the heck of it. Tons of room for improvment. A nice Prelude stock sound system would be really good!

I paid $27,800. I would recommend it to whoever wants a high class look with a low price to pay. It attracts a lot of people and all my friends love it.

Well its simiar to a Toyota Solara. Must say that car makes u feel high class. The Solara has 200hp as well, but has 214hp of torque.

Model Reviewed: Honda Accord LX-i

Strength:

Very reliable, great gas milage, looks good.

Weakness:

When things do break it becomes expensive.

The LX-i model has a lot of features as well as an excellent sound system. It also has bigger brakes, and 24 more horsepower than the DX and LX models (Due to fuel injection rather that a carborator). This car has good power and an excellent 5-speed transmission. Belive it or not but I have beaten an 87 Mazda RX-7 in a drag race as well as many other cars. This car has a lot of top end power around 5000 rpms, so much so that on the interstate a Dodge Neon R/T thought he was faster than me so with 2 other people in the car I redlined it in 5th gear and I was going 128 mph. How many cars today can get 33 mpg and go 130 miles per hour. Not many. I paid 4500 for this car with 70 thousand miles on it in 08/99 and I think I have a car that will last me at least 5 years of hard driving. I have future plans for my car to make it look even sportier such as a spoiler, tinted windows, new Honda symbols, Weapon R intake, Cat-back exaust system, fog lights, 17-inch wheels and tires, racing pedals, anti-sway bar, lowering springs, front camber kit, and a short throw shifter. I would recomend this car to anyone especially someone on a tight budget such as a college student.

-19K for a 2000 SE
-Quality fit and finish
-Ergonomics
-Quiet and comfortable
-Spacious
-Reliability

Weakness:

-Road noise at 60mph+
-Minor intermittent rattles
-Radio

Highly recommended.

Compared to other cars in the market, this is a winner. Minor weaknesses can be fixed with aftermarket products.

Road noise is a result of the Michelin Energy MXV4 tires. Replace them with quieter riding Michelin X-One. Micheline has by far the best quality, long lasting tires. Do not use anything else. Wind noise and engine roar are well isolated compared to most cars in this price range.

Radio can be replaced with an aftermarket unit. Speakers are fine.

Minor rattles disappear after car has be broken-in. Hondas will prove to be far more reliable in the long run.

Camry is quieter and has a softer ride but lacks character. Accord has character and feels more like a European sports sedan.

Model Reviewed: Honda Accord LX 4 dr

Strength:

Extremely reliable
Sleek styling for a family sedan
Handles well for a heavy car (Saved me 3 times from hitting deer)
30 MPG gas mileage (5 speed)
Extremely well built
Design of controls are intuitive

Weakness:

Weak acceleration
Horrible sound system
Cruise Control works, but doesn't maintain a precise speed well.

I paid $11,500 for the car with 36k miles in 1998, which I thought was a pretty decent deal. The high resale rate on this thing is unbelievable. I've practically torn the entire car apart installing a $4,000 stereo system, and I can assure you that it's VERY WELL BUILT. There are two things that I thought were lousy. First of all, the cruise control grates my nerves. It works fine, but it hovers between +/- 5 MPH around curves and hills. Secondly, the basic Honda stereo system is awful. The cassette deck is probably worth $10 and the incredibly cheap speakers (Paper Cone type by Pioneer) seem like an afterthought.

Despite the minimal low points, I'm totally sold on Honda vehicles due to their high reliability and sound engineering. I highly recommend you go out and buy one.

Model Reviewed: Honda Accord V6

Strength:

It has a great leather interior and moon roof. Accelerates great at stoplights and even accelerates when driving 100 MPH. Body finish is excellent; doors close with a pleasing crummmmmp--not tinny! Holds the road very well in curves and at high speeds. Have had the car 5 months and have 17,000 miles on it--a lot driven at high speeds on freeways. It is a great, comfortable, luxurious, fun road car!

Weakness:

Automatic transmission shifting is not as smooth as some cars I've owned.

Paid $26,000 for the car. I highly recommend it. Got the car in Signet Silver that changes colors with different light--from violet to pewter depending on the time of day. We have the stereo CD in truck system with an added cassette player. This car is for all ages. I am 63 and love to drive fast, but operate a business so need a four door car.

1995 Camry V6. Honda V6 more powerful and comfortable in seats. Camry shifted more quietly and without noticeable jerks. Otherwise, Honda V6 better all-around.
