Model Reviewed: Accord Coupe LX

Strength:

More than enough power from VTEC 4-cyl. engine, sporty looks and handling, sophisticated suspension, very comfortable, spacious, and reliable. Looks good, feels good, and will never let you down.

Weakness:

Tires are a bit skinny and more power wouldn't hurt. There are no side trims on the door to prevent scratches. Rear drum brakes on LX.

The Accord Coupe is much more stylish than the sedan version and has slightly better handling and performance. One car magazine clocked the 4-cylinder EX doing 0-60 in 8.0 seconds. The V6 is even faster, of course.
Once you sit inside of an Accord and drive around for a while, you understand why it has won so many awards. The ergonomics are perfect, the seats are very comfortable, and even the coupe is very spacious. There are lots of storage spaces, and the quality of the car is near luxury-car levels.
In addition to the incredible reliability and durability of the Accord, it is a fun car to drive and looks good doing it, espcially with alloy wheels and a rear spoiler. I also got the 6 disc-in-dash CD changer which is awesome and never skips.
I paid $21,940 for my Accord Coupe w/ alloy wheels, rear spoiler, 6 CD changer, floor mats, and ValuGard protection package. It was a great choice!

Strength:

Reliability, gas mileage, handling, interiro comfort

Weakness:

Paint problems, and body sides ding easily. Very sluggish acceleration even on 4 cylinder 5 speed.

All the usual good things about it's reliability, but I am having a problem with the black paint on the hood melting whenever sap, or bird droppings land on the hood and get heated by the sun. I've had this problem since 1997 and have had no success with Honda, they will not admit there is a problem with the paint.

Strength:

Handling, performance for 4-cylinder engine, great ride, no problems, love it!

Weakness:

not really any for me. good all around car

I love the car! Very good mpg, fast for 4-cylinder, have the 2.2 V-Tech, very good engine. I love the response of the car to everything, corners very well, a little roll, but nothing major. Plan to modify in the year to come. Very good looking as well!

Ford Bronco, much better response of the line because of weight, lot better ride, I will never go back to a SUV 4X4 again. It's rough and slow.

I really like this car!! The EX V6 comes with a very impressive standard equipment. The engine is great, pretty strong for a 4 door family car.

Weakness:

Wish is was a stick

I paid 23,000 even and this is when is was still pretty new on the market. I would recommed this car, very reliable and great fun for a family car.

Strength:

Attitudes, Handeling, Control, Predictability,Sight, Fuel
economy, Decent looks and yes, it is not as old as you are.

Weakness:

Noisy, not very smooth, engine revs like self-destruct when going up hill, but it works.

Great road feel, great handeling, great gas economy, good front space, good view, decent looks and very predictable. Go with the V4, for V6 the Camry might be a better deal.

You want silky smooth ride and extreme quietness? Go with the Camry. But if you want to have fun driving your car, not have your car driving for you for fun, definately go with the Accord. Camry maybe a better "family" car, the Accord is definately a part of youself. Remember, this babe has some attitudes.

Model Reviewed: LX V6 Coupe

Strength:

Lively to drive, (those considering a Camry would do better to drive an Accord - much more fun to drive) Good Styling of the coupe, Excellent Ergonomics, reliable, silky smooth, powerful V6 engine.

Overall- a very nice car, except for the tires! (see weaknesses)

Weakness:

Torque steer and front wheel spin when accelerating hard from a stop. OEM tires - Bridgestone Turanzas are way too slippery and noisy, detracting a lot from driving pleasure.
Automatic transmission shifts too early sometimes.

I pait $23,400 out of the door ($20,500 invoice) and feel it is a very good price for a V6 equipped car.

I would recommend going for the EX V6 as you get a lot more for the money, which is around $24,500 but includes leather and moon roof,CD changer etc.

Please, please HONDA- change the damn Bridgestone Turanzas to may be Turanza Revo/Pirelli P6000!!

Toyota Camry. Camry may be good for Grandma and Grandpa but not for me, the Accord gives me much more lively performance and style with same reliability.

About 20K.I would recommend it to anyone who want's a reliable, great looking car but can't afford an expensive luxury car.Honda has a great reputation for reliability and comfort.I haven't met anyone who does not like this car.The engine has great power for a 4 cylinder engine, but if you need more there is always the more powerful v6.

Strength:

Excellent ride, handling, braking, comfort, and controls

Weakness:

4 cylinder engine could be a little gustier, styling is a little bland

Lease 189/mo 1000 down
Everyone knows that the honda accord is an excelent car. Im just going to reitterate that. This car does most things excellent and everything else well. The ride is firm and the steering is tight. The controls are nicely laid out and easy to use. The seats are confortable for long trips and the car also gets excellent gas mileage. Now for a few of my pet peaves: styling is very plain, and the 4 cylinder does not provide enough pep. But, thats about all this car doesnt do superbly. I feel this is an excellent and reliable car that should be considered by everyone buying a midsized car.

Model Reviewed: LX V6 coupe

Strength:

This is an EXCELLENT car - combining the strengths of performance, comfort, and reliability. It is quite a fun car to drive. (I replaced my OEM tires with Bridgestone Turanza REVO - and the performance increment is simply mind-blowing)
The interior is a model of simplicity of use and clean ergonomics. (as are most Hondas)
Visibility is excellent, though coupes tend to have lower seating, and hence little bit of 'submerged' feel, but that is a minor complaint.
Quality radio.
Supportive front seats and good space in the back, for a 2 door coupe model.

Weakness:

Torque steer, bad OEM tires - if you got the 4 Cylinder which has Michelin MXV4, you are fine, but Bridgestones are too noisy and lose grip easily - that is why I replaced them with Turanza REVO, which are very very good tires.
Slow rear defroster.
That is about it. Not many complaints about this nice car.

I will recommend this car highly to any one looking for reliable, fun to drive car.

All others please buy a Chrysler or something.

I saw a couple of posts here about how Accord does not compare against Camry - I would have to say they either got a bad model, or they don't know what they are talking about- Camry cannot compare to Accord's handling and looks. Reliability is same as Camry - in fact the Camry I used to own had a lot of problems with the starter and Engine noise.
I say the Accord is definitely as good in terms of reliability, if not better. BUT- definitely more fun to drive any day.

Toyota Camry '88. - Camry was very reliable also, but quite boring to drive with too much 'lean' in turns.

Model Reviewed: Accord EX Coupe

Strength:

My wife's car... I love getting the keys and driving it. All is good on this car.

Weakness:

4 banger is strong for a 4 banger, V-6 is weak for a V-6... Honda should be looking for v-6 performance like a Maxima for it's coupe

We purchased the coupe 15 months ago from a dealer here in Pensacola. The car is outstanding. Our dealer experience was god-awful. Honda dealers seem to be a little to proud and conceited about their cars (I can't blame them too much) and didn't want to deal much at all. Armed with invoice prices and the like, the dealer didn't want to come off the price at all. I finally paid about 1500 above invoice. The car is loaded, with leather as well. The seats are comfy, the ride is very solid and feels like a sports car until you actually start trying to corner quickly in it! Gas mileage is excellent and it runs like a top. Only one really annoying thing is that the rearview mirrors were put in the wrong place or designed the wrong way because the wind noise from the mirrors is very loud at highway speeds.

If you can stomach paying almost MSRP, the car is still a great value, loaded with features. You'll love the car, though. Honda resale value will be good as well.

Similar Products Used:

Maxima. Accord is much higher quality and built to higher tolerances. Maxima is much more sporty, even though the Accord coupe looks sportier.
