Strength:

Great car. Just about everything is good, execpt.........well.

Weakness:

When I first got it, I fell in love with it. CurrentlyI have 38k and she runs ok. In one year's time it has been in the service department for eletrical problems. Since I have owned this car my alternator has went out twice, and believe it or not the transmission misses some gears, I took it to a Honda service department, and one of their employess told me that Honda's do have bad transmission. He said GM and Ford make better build transmission's sad to say. Well to make a long story short, this problem happened about 3 months ago and of course iam out of warranty, so I had to dish out 2k out of my pocket to fix the damm problem. What gets me mad this problem did not even happen to my Taurus till about 169k miles! But still I have to admit it a great car, but their is a lot of competion out their, and I have noticed buy what people say and buy down here in Texas, their kind of waving the white flag to (JAP) vechiles.

Well I will think twice before buying a other car again......O yeah. one other thing the paint SUCKS!

1993 Ford Taurus- It handled better and had a better ride than the Accord. But I bought the Accord because of what I liked when I drove my Co-worker's. What iam not used to yet is that on my Accord the frame seems somewhat chessey compared to the Taurus.

Model Reviewed: Accord Coupe V6

Strength:

Power and Torque - i think everyone would say the same
Engine - Can be a cat or a tiger anytime you want it to be
Interior finish - Beautiful.
Exterior styling - Beautiful.
Quality - I already have 40000 miles on this car and i have not had any problem with it so far.

Weakness:

Tires - they are simply not "safe" enough for this sporty car
Front seats - very uncomfortable... gives me back pains
Driver leg room - if i move my seats back to allow my legs to move, i would have to stretch my arms all the way to reach the steering wheel
Stereo system - so-so
Transmission - gears up too slowly sometimes
No Traction Control!
Torgue steer - dont try to outrun anyone at the traffic light... your car may go out of control.

The V6 coupe is supposed to be more of a sports car than a sedan, but the original tires on this car make it more of a sedan than a sports car. Driving is not very comfortable on this car... awkward seats and little leg room. The car wiggles when you attempt a fast start or a fast stop (may be due to the poor performance of the tires). Other than these, the car is perfect :) And of course, this is one of the fastest cars you can buy at this price level, carrying a automatic transmission.

Strength:

Brakes, steering, stereo are excellent. Reliability unsurpassed. This
4 cyl sucks gas. I get 20 miles/gallon. Perfectly tuned 30K miles.

Weakness:

Cheap cloth seats. Ugly styling. Manual temperature control on heater very
hard to turn, like this on all accords this model year. Very nosiy and underpowered engine. Arm rests suck big time. May be better in two door model.

I would not recommend any Honda Accord after 1993 Model year. #1 they are
now built in the USA not Japan. The quality of seats have been downgraded.
The engines are a lot noiser than the 1989 2.0 liter. Suck gas for 4 cyl.

The Honda Accords have gotten cheaper over the years. I will not buy another one again. My advise is to buy a used 1993 model with low miles.

I blew it, should have never sold my 1989 model. That's life.

Strength:

Resale value, proven design that's not flashy but will last at least 5 years. Pretty cheap.

Weakness:

compared to the 80's the build quality has gone down a little. Still better than most cars in the price range. Too many of them running around.

Well this is my wife's car. She paid 16500 for it (LX). Her old car (Tercel `81) broke down so we had to get her a car at the beginning of the year. That is why the price is high. I live in Japan and my wife is in LA, where I will join her at the end of the year, so I keep on comparing it to the Japanese Accord and quiet honestly, the US made Accord is not that good. The only benefit is that it comes with a bigger engine for the base model compared to the Japanese built ones. But still when I compare it to a comparable car in the States, it is still really excellent. (All you VW fans, take note that the Accord is not in the same league as the Passat!! The Accord is half a notch below the Jetta, Just look at the price. The Accord is in the same league as the Camry!!! Passat is in a class of it's own) Anyway that being said, I would say that the suspension is good and the engine is awesome, even on the base model. Interior engine noise level is good, but the road noise from the tire is not. Front visibility is great but the rear is just so so. I have no problems but my wife can not see the front corners of the car. I put some position markers for her and I think if you are less than 5'1 you should too, uless you're good at guestimating. Otherwise you will scrape the lower left bumper when approaching a curb to park. Front seats are adequate. I believe for the price, I could not ask for a Recaro. Rear seats are okay so is head room for most people. Trunk space is good but I wish they would use the pantagraph method for the closure hinges, instead of those boomerang like things.

I try not to forget the price of this car. It's doesn't have sex appeal like my Diabolo or the strenght and every day drivability of my Evolution 5. But what it does do well is get from point a to b without fuss and cheaply to boot. Recommended tune up is 100,000 miles as long as you change the oil and other vital fluids. This is a good thing for the consumers. Honda is not that popular in Japan right now but I can see why it is in the States. They have a good rep and it's because the cars will last. Sure most cars will last but what will they look like in 5 years. How often will they break down after the 3rd year. I think on those terms, Honda has proven itself. Some people commented that there were minor things wrong with their Accord right from the getgo. That happens to most cars. The question to ask is, "is it reparable". Many other companies make cars that aren't reparable. The user is stuck with the built in flaws. Honda and Toyota have eliminated this as much as possible and that is the reason for the high resale. I would recommend this car to anyone upgrading from a compact to a midsize. I have had VWs, my cousin has always had a BMW 3 series, and quite honestly they are nice, but none of them run as well as the Honda after a few years. Please don't get me wrong those are nice cars but Honda will outlast them CHEAPER. I believe that's what the Accord is all about. A user friendly car for the guy who needs to get from point A to B

Paid $2200 two years ago w/ 80k miles. It's been a great
investment for us. Now at 150k miles we had to replace factory
fuel pump, factory cv joints, and oil pan over the past two years.
Will need to replace head gasket and distributor soon. We recommend
this car highly in regards to its age, reliability, and repair aspects.

Strength:

Quality, Fit & Finish, Shifter, Brakes, almost everything really.

Weakness:

4 cyl VTEC is very smooth, but I would like more low end torque, but this is a HONDA after all... Better rubber would be nice.

I got this car for a really good price, I paid $26500 CDN for a SE 5 sp manual on-the-road. That includes 15% of tax, delivery, shipping, plates for 2 years, undercoating & rustproofing. What can I say, I think that was a steal.

Buying this car was not as easy as driving it. The dealers seem to think that since they have good cars they can try to rip you off. Go to as many dealers as you can, and try to get the lowest price possible. Anyway, this is a car review, so...

The car drives silky smooth with a great shifter and excelent road feel. It doesn't seem to be as stable as the Golf or Jetta, but those are both smaller cars, and overpriced. There is plenty of space for 4 people and 5 can fit if they really need to. I'm 6' and have no problems driving this car. Acceleration is very good considering the size of the engine, but I would like to see some more torque, maybe the 6 cyl is better there. Note: you cannot get the smooth manual transmission in the 6 cyl. I would advise people to purchase the manual version of this car. The automatic I test drove was pretty weak, both in power and in shift timing. If you don't know how to drive manual, learn.

The interior is well built and all of the controls are very well layed out. The biggest drawback of this car is the rubber. I can assure you that I am replacing it as soon as possible. Under hard cornering the tires fold in on themselves and the rubber is not very sticky on wet surfaces. Honda really cut a corner in this department.

Overall, this is an excellent car and there is nothing out there in the same price range that can touch it. If you're looking for a good car that will last a long time, this is for you, walk, no run, to your nearest dealer and see for yourself.

Impeccable fit and finish, legendary Honda reliability, great handling - this car is fun to drive! Great driving position.

Weakness:

Squeaky seatbelt, occasionally there is some squeaking in the seatbelt area. I have a second 4 CYL '00 Honda with the same problem. The problem exists even in my brother's Acura which is essentially a Honda! Radio reception is extremely poor!

This car offers just phenomenal quality and performance for the price and its class. The cab-forward dash is really nice compared to the awful Camry. I have the EX-V6, acceleration is only 0.5 seconds slower than a BMW 328i so its really quick. The very best in its class :-)
