Accord EX 4dr Sedan
Strength:
Silky smooth 5 Speed Transmission that brings out the best in the spunky VTech Engine. Smooth, quiet, & strong acceleration with 5 speed & comfortable ride. Great looking car, especially with the add-on rear spoiler, fog lights, custom alloy wheels, etc. Conservative, yet sporty elegant design.
Weakness:
While they were getting my 5 spd ready, they gave me a 4cyl EX automatic loaner car...no comparison to the 5 spd version. Automatic 4 cyl version is abrupt, louder, & just not as refined feeling. Also, Honda should have put 16 inch wheels on the Accord EX instead of 15 inch. Other than that, the car is damn near perfect...^_^ This is my 8th new Honda/Acura automobile purchase since my 16th Birthday nearly 2 decades ago, & none of them has ever let me down. Change the oil & follow the service schedule & the cars will take care of you without exception. Honda's only real weakness is their oftentime crappy dealerships (most of them) who think somehow that they are sitting on Mt Olympus. Get you facts straight before going to deal & don't settle for more than around invoice price for the car (not counting add-ons)...since that is what you can order the car over the net for. Use the internet prices to your advantage or the dealers will rape you big time. They hated it when I pulled out the breakdown print-outs detailing every item...dealer cost vs invoice vs retail...it was great! ^__^ Similar Products Used: Nissan Maxima 2000 - More agressive looking & powerful than the Accord but not as attractive overall. The Accord just 'felt' better on the road to me. The Nissan was a very nice car, however. It just wasn't for me. |

Strength:
Everything! My Accord has been very good to me. Reliability is a huge plus and a given on any Honda vehicle. Good gas milage, especilly with high prices now, comfy interior, and the Vtec provides a quick boost off the line. Not too shappy for 145HP car!
Weakness:
None that I can think of, the Accord is a solid car. While the 1994 Accrod is not as flashy as the newer models, its still not a bad looking car, and given that an Accord is 100 times more reliable than any Ford, GM, Jeep or (Any American based company), buying an Accord is a no-brainer. If Im not mistaken each of those companies has had a major recall within the past 2-6 months now. Thats ridiculous, especially for products like cars in which safety is an important issue, as is putting down alot of money for a potential defective car. You don't see half as many recalls on Honda's, or their Asian/European competition. If you want a solid, well built car that is enjoyable to drive, the Accord is the way to go. There is a reason that the Accord has made Car and Drivers Top 10 list for the past 15 years or so and continues to be a top pick of Consumers Reports; its a top notch vehicle for the money. Accord EX 2.3 liter 4 cylinder
Strength:
Styling, handling, smooth revving engine (automatic w/VTEC engine), standard features (A/C, CD/multi-speaker stereo, sunroof, ergonomics, security features for car & stereo, trunk and cabin space, & a wide variety of performance aftermarket products (brakes, exhaust, intake manifolds, high flow air filters, headers, suspension products. Honda's reputation for reliability and longevity. Love the sun/moon roof.
Weakness:
Transmission shows a tendency to "studder" when decelerating and then accelerating, such as slowing down for a or red traffic light, then the light turns green and you accelerate. It feels as if the transmission is not moving up/down to the correct gearing and it lugs for a second until the correct gearing is selected. I personally don't care for the LCD clock odometer/trip meter. Looks too sterile for my taste. I prefer a green/blue fluorescent display. Glove compartment is small, maybe because of the airbag? Paid $21,500 including leather and ABS. Recommend it (4-dr)for a family of 4-5. Versatile, good overall family car with conservative styling. If your priorities are reliability, excellent ergonomic designs, very good resale value, quality workmanship, solid engineering (you can close the door solidly with just two fingers),I also appreciate the low e glass. Haven't had it during the summer months to see how effective it is. Similar Products Used: 98 Chevy Malibu 4 cylinder; Accord's cruise control engaged and didn't surge like the Malibu. Accord corners flatter, revs easier. Adequate power. Engine not as smooth as the Accord. |

/Accord EX 4 cyl
Strength:
I have a long commute and this car gets good gas mileage. Has a great panaramic unobstructed drivers side view. dash board is well engineered, and layed out well. The car handles nicely at higher speeds. The 4 wheels ABS brakes have saved me many times in the heavy snow. I've had it for about a year now, and haven't had any problems. It of course is very dependable, I've now put about 43,000 miles on it and it still runs the same that it did when I picked it up from the dealership. The styling and the alloy wheels turn a lot of heads.
Weakness:
the cabin does have slight wind noise, but easily over come by the radio. The engine is a bit loud during acceleration. The factory sound system was poor, I've since replaced it with a more high quality one, Boston Acoustic PRO fronts, RM9 rears, and precision power amp with Solara kicker sub. The car does what I originally bought it for, handles well with a lot of heavy driving, and is economical. The engine has a lot of power and acceleration for a 4 cylinder. Could be because I have the standard version. I've driven other cars like the Taurus (which I rented) and it doesn't compare to the Honda's ability to handle at the high speeds (on the highway). I would recomend this car to anyone looking for a good trade of between being both economical and yet sporty at the same time. Similar Products Used: none, Nissan Pulsar |

-Quiet and powerful V6 -Solid construction -Beautiful to look at -Perfect control layout -Superb handlind and steering feel - Regular gas
Weakness:
- Slow automatic shift -Short seat cushions - Average radio - Modest headroom $30,000(CDN) Of course I would recommend the purchase of this exact car. I wanted a distinctive car and almost bought a new Maxima. I do not believe that this would have been a mistake but the Coupe won me over. I did try the 150hp four with 5 speed and a wish I could have bought one of each. Similar Products Used: 1994 Maxima GXE |

Strength:
Honda reliability, good pep for a four cylinder.
Weakness:
Wind noise and rides a little stiff We paid $18,500 for this about 15 months ago. It is our second Accord. We looked at Camry, but frankly, with the luck we've had with our first Accord and the significant price difference, stayed with Honda. The car handles well in snow even for an automatic. It has decent acceleration for a four-banger, but should get better mileage. It doesn't handle nearly as well as our 90 EX, but that may not be a fair comparison as the EX has low-profile tires and a better suspension. It sways somewhat in a tight turn. The cabin is noisy. The controls are very good, operate smoothly and are very well laid out. About three months ago a whistle developed from the windshield. It's not really loud and we just turn up the radio to compensate. My wife drives this and she is really tough on cars. The car has held up extremely well under her abuse. I would recommend the Accord, and Hondas in general. Our 90 EX has 125k miles and has had one $150 part fail in the past ten years. How can you beat that?? Similar Products Used: 1990 Accord EX |

why Simulated wood grain? car is relatively pretty high off the ground i would definitely recommend an accord of any model. If you take good care of it, then it will take good care of you.If you seek more power like me, then invest into engine modifications. |

Very sharp looking car, great stereo and nice interior.
Weakness:
Not enough power. Also gas mileage I think gas mileage should be better with the lack of power. Transmission (4-speed auto) has also been giving me problems. paid 16,000 in summer of '99. strongly recommened but even better with V-6 power. Power faltered just a bit. We were getting passed by SUV's left and right (but it might be because of my friend's slow driving). This is actually my friends car. We took his car up on three of our trips this season. It does the job. |
