stock tires aren't ide enough have to buy aftermarket ones, 3 speed wipers i love it! i get so many looks in the metallic blue pain. believe me i wasn't to crazy about the shape but i got used to it! with the gear shifter (5 speed) on the dash by the stereo it is so fun to drive. the car is so comftorable with racing bucket seats made by ricardo with suede trim. stock i-vtes DOHC 160hp motor really makes the car get up and go!!! this car feels mor solid than anything i have ever driven! Civic EX-G
Strength:
Just about everything. Sharp handling, good brakes, nice high-revving acceleration thanks to VTEC, comfortable, loaded with features, A/C THAT WORKS! Looks nice and classy for an econo car. I like the interior layout and console controls. Interior lights are nice and bright. Lowbeams work as well as my Chrysler's highbeams. Drives like a well-made car.
Weakness:
Only 3 wiper speeds as opposed to 10 on the Intrepid : ( I had way too many problem with my Intrepid, it was a nice car but it had to go. People kept telling me to buy a Honda, but I resisted since theyr'e so trendy. Finally gave in and ot myself a nnice red EX. Sweet car (for a Civic), I'm 99% satisfied with it so far. It's a 4 door, so it's not too much od a downsize from my Trep. I've already had great fun cruising around in this thing. Similar Products Used: Intrepid, Taurus, Cavalier, Sunfire. |

Weakness:
Small inside. Not as roomy as other cars I've had. Never had a problem with this car. Similar Products Used: Cavalier. Honda is definitely better. |

*ACCELERATION-Stock was good, but now its even better! *TOP SPEED-With a Hondata ECU the govener is off. Now 120MPH is a breeze. *HANDLING-Nice handling stock and not.
Weakness:
WE all know the cup holder thing but the one some people dont mention is the shakey ness at 120MPH+...maybe people dont go that fast? My dad bought the car for me when i was 15. The 5 speed manual holds up real good to my added performance mods: DC sports header, DC exhaust, AEM Intake, AEM cam gears, Skunk2 cam shafts, Skunk2 coilovers, AEM big brake kit, and NOS 65 Shot....about 2 grand worht of mods. The car had 79,000 freeway miles and now has 91,000 and still runs like when i got it. 0-60 thanks to a g-force power meter was a pretty good 7.7 seconds and a 15.9 second 1/4 mile time. I think the Civic EX's SOHC VTEC engine is better then my moms Del Sol DOHC VTEc engine...but shes also riding stock :-) Similar Products Used: Moms Del sol, friends 'Teggy LS, 2002 Altima V6 (WOW!), 1988 accord...which was my friends crappy car. |

handling fast, for an economy car looks awesome reliable nice "feel"
Weakness:
not super super super fast I've had my civic for about 9 months and I love it. Despite low hp figures the car is pretty zippy, the low wieght counters the low hp. Handling is unbelievable. It blows away my previous car, a celica, and my dads altima. Similar Products Used: celica altima |

Fuel economy Handling Quietness, no road noise Security system Bucket seats Pretty fast for 1.7 liter
Weakness:
No ABS on the LX Stereo is OK but could be nicer The car is great. It's quiet, the road noise is minimal, unlike the Sentra. The 1.7 liter engine could be a little more powerful, but with 5 speed transmission it's pretty fast. It's light, so it handles reall well, even in the rain. It's also great on gas. It looks sporty. For a college student, mostly city driving, it's great. Similar Products Used: 94 Mitsubishi Mirage (horrible) 96 Honda Prelude (one of the best cars ever made) |

Weakness:
See summary This is my fourth Honda - my 2nd Civic. The 2002 is definitely a zippier car than the 1999 I drove for 3 years. Snappier shifter and more horsepower. The mileage remains great - anywhere from 30-38 mpg. No complaints. /// I couldn't help but notice someone from the West Coast saying it was under-powered. While I don't know the particulars of that person's vehicle -or if there are added EPA requirements over there - but a 5 speed Honda is always a blast to drive. Maybe that's the clincher - Dont' Get An Automatic in a four-cylinder car. It's asking a lot to combine an automatic transmission with any four banger and ask it to perform like a sports car. Sorry. It "ain't" gonna happen. Similar Products Used: 1999 - Honda Civic LX 1995 - G20 Infiniti 1990 - Mitsubishi Eclipse 1985 - Mazda 323 1978 - Honda Accord |

durability, reliability, nice looking, and easy to fix
Weakness:
WHY IS THERE A CUP OLDER IN FRONT OF THE CD PLAYER???, mostly made of plastic, people always want to race me thats annoying, very very slow Overall the car is good except every once in a while something will fall off of break. I tryed to open the hood today and the hood lever fell off...umm had to replace the brake pads twice and the muffler and the timeing belt thats it. This car really hold up in accedents I got hit by a tourbus going 30 when I was stoped and it held up nicely the secound accedent was a 4 runner that ran a stop sign all fixed for under 7000...overall this is a good car for the price Similar Products Used: 1999 jetta vr6 |

-The engine (SOHC VTEC) sings with modifications -Acceleration...pretty strong, better above 5000 rpms -Braking is actually quiet good...light pedal modulations result in short stops, good pedal feel, and never any fade
Weakness:
Cupholders in front of CD player (URGH!) -Mine is Automatic...probably better car with manual :( This is my first ever car (I'm 16) and I've wanted a Civic since who knows how-long. My biggest gripe with my car is that it is an AUTO transmission...I realize that's my fault, but oh well. My car accelerated well enough at about half-throttle when it was stock, and when you floored it just took off (this goes for any Honda VTEC, in case you're wondering). I now have a Short-Ram air intake from AEM, as well as a GReddy EVO cat-back exhaust, and DC Sports 4-2-1 CC headers...about $900 worth of mods, but much better acceleration, smoother operation, better gas mileage, and an awesome sound. The paint quality of just about any well-maintained Honda is superb. Mine is no exception, with a few scrapes. The interior is very capacious and I'm 6'1"! The radio is situated well-enough and the knobs for the centrally-mounted controls are easy to read and within reach while driving. Umm, Honda, who the heck put cupholders in front of the CD deck? Yeah, if you have a beverage, you better you hope you like every single track b/c it would be no small feat changing the disc while driving (this is HONESTLY the worst thing about the car). The suspension on the EK-gen Civics is excellent and one of the reasons I didn't get the new (01-up) models. I plan on getting a strut-tower bar any time soon to tighten the front even further. Trunk space is accomodating, at least for most daily runs. No real blind spots. The sunroof is a neat feature, and power everything lets you live out your luxo-fantasies :) And does anybody here like getting 31 mpg? Overall, GREAT CAR!!!
