Strength:
Gas consumption Good trunk size
Weakness:
No guts, 5 spd - be prepared to shift ALL the time. Great car if you''re single or strapped for cash. Not a good car if you have a couple of kids because of size reasons. I find my 5 spd LX not very powerful and therefore am constantly shifting gears. If you find constant shifting tiring...get something else! |

the B16 is awsome good power with great gas milage(when not redlining). Anyone who wants a car that has a lot of aftermarket parts this vehicle is for you. There are countless parts for this car. i would recomend this car to anyone if you could get ahold of one.
Weakness:
Not really any weaknesses other than the factory stereo is a little weak This is my first new car. I love this car very much. The car is very easy to drive and very fun to drive. When i bought my si i had never drove a 5 speed. it was so easy i learned to drive it in about a half hour. The b16 engine is excellent and sounds awsome when reved to 8000 rpm''s. Also this car can handle like no other. i plan on having this car for a long time. Similar Products Used: my last car was an american car and i hated it. i will stick with honda |

Strength:
Low gas mileage, runs smooth, plenty of trunk space. My sweety...
Weakness:
If only it had more horse power...Vroom, vroom!!! "Silkey Blue" is my baby. My father told me,"If you take care of your car, your car will take care of you." Unfortunately, I drive my car 80 miles a day five days a week, so my baby already has 12,000 plus miles on it. I have to get an oil change every other month, but to ensure that she''s running at her peak, I''ll do it. She just had her first complete routine maintenance and tires rotated, etc. She is purring like a kitten. Some "person" (I don''t know who -- and who in today''s society will confess) hit my car while it was parked. The bumper is slightly cracked and the paint is scraped off in certain areas on the bumper. To avoid increase in my premiums, I amost decided not to contact my insurance agent. But, then I decided that I''ve only had this car for a year and I have a few more years to pay on it. I want my car to be at it''s best at least for the next two or three years. I would hate to pay a car note every month for a damaged vehicle, and thank God my insurance deductible is only 250 a month. I''m taking good care of Silkey. She was a gift from God, and like all good gifts, should be highly appreciated and carefully cared for. |

Good car for money. Reliable and well built. Power locks are nice feature. This car has 50K km and no unscheduled maintenance has been needed.
Weakness:
Needs an anti-sway bar for better handling. Dealers charge too much for regular maintenance. A little noisier than it''s competitors. Mostly due to wind noise around the windows. I now have close to 50K km on this car and am very pleased with it. Nothing outside of the scheduled maintenance has ever needed to be done. My only complaints with the car is it could benefit from an anti sway bar and it seems to suffer from wind noise around the windows. I say this after experiencing the slightly superior handling of the Honda EX which has an anti sway bar - then again the SE cost 3K less has almost the same option list. Winter handling/braking was greatly improved by switching the stock Firestone all season tires for Michelin snow tires. All season tires don’t seem to work in snow. This cars seems a little noisier than it''s competitors. Mostly due to wind noise around the windows. This car was purchased this car new in May 2000. Price is a conversion from Canadian dollars and includes dealer charges. I''ve since had a chance to drive rental cars from Toyota and Mazda and would still by the Honda again, even with it''s weaknesses, although neither of these cars are bad. Strength:
Alot more roomy than older model Civics, Great pick up and go :) Very Sporty great new body style! The best gas milage I have ever gotten w/ a car (I avg. about 34 city/ 37 hwy mpg) If you''re looking for a GREAT and dependable car all I can say is GO FOR IT!
Weakness:
none that I can think of I really loved this car (LX)... This was my first new car and it was GREAT!!! I love the new body style they gave to the 2-dr. coupe, it is really sporty and a great car for college. It did need more storage however in the front. The trunk space is unbelievable and so is the back seat. None of my tall guy friends complained when they were in the back seat, the flat floorboard is a great concept also. Can''t think of anything bad to say about this car. Similar Products Used: 93'' ford mustang, ''94 Geo Prism, ''93 Toyota Corrolla (none compare to this car in my opinion) well maybe the corrolla, but it doesn''t have near the horsepower as the Civic. |

Fun to drive. Large aftermarket. Descent styling.
Weakness:
After 7 months driving the driver window got stuck- repaired under warranty. A month later driver side window control panel comes loose when closing window with door down. Sunroof also rattles- took to the dealer and they tightened the area but problem resurfaced again after a week. Now i just got used to it. Low HP and torque. Overall, the car is fun to drive, tons of aftermarket product, nice VTEC sound, good gas mileage. Low power as expected as well as low torque. Cabin noise is surprisingly low and front cabin spacious. |

Strength:
Fun factor, fuel economy(when not using VTEC often), handling.
Weakness:
Tires are crap, seats are uncomfortable for long trips and don''t hold you enough for fast mountain runs. Wish steering had telescoping adjustment for my long legs and short arms. This si my first civic and my first new car. The car is an aboolute blast to drive. Other cars might be faster but theres nothing like the VTEC wail exiting a corner. Aftermarket is huge in case like me you love to mod your car yourself |

Strength:
Reliability, reliability, reliability. Did I mention reliability? Besides the prescribed dealer maintenence, this car has had 3 minor problems in 8 years. Rotor and Cap ($60/plus labor), replaced cracked CV boots at 78K ($300 including labor) and a faulty horn unit ($40). The paint still looks new, no breaks in the plastic trim or problems with interior parts. Great on gas. Took a trip in the winter to MD and MI, roundtrip was 3K miles and we averaged just over 35 mpg.
Weakness:
Cheap stock tires were replace at 45K. The replacement Bridgestone Turanza T''s have 35K on them and show no wear. Replaced cheap stock radio and front speakers. It''s as bland looking as Wonderbread and doesn''t have much torque or power--a trade off for the great gas mileage. A fair amount of road noise in the cabin. We bought our Honda Civic new back in 1994. It is now 8 years old, has 82,000 miles--and the magic is still there! I''m a bit disdainful of some of the reviews on this site where the reviewer has had the car for less than a year or even less than 6 months and in some cases only test drove the vehicle. Gee, any car that''s less than 1 year old ought to be impressive, but how well do you like it after 2 years, 5 years, 10 years (if you keep it that long) or more. This is simply the best car we have ever owned. Just get in, drive and forget about your automotive worries. This is something I couldn''t say about any of my previous cars.. Similar Products Used: Have owned Detroit (all three manufacturers), German (VW) and other Japanese (Toyota). Have rented many newer cars.. |
