Strength:
Traditionally long lasting, good transporation.
Weakness:
Transmission I have owned Hondas since 1984. My 1997 CIVIC DX automatic has had major transmission problems. The dealer finally replaced the transmission under warranty at 35,000. Now, at 73,000 the transmission is going out again. Honda will not stand by the car. I am extremetly dissapointed and would not recommend this car to anyone |

Civic EX 2dr
Strength:
Looks, reliability, fun to drive, easy and kinda cheap to upgrade things... tons of 3rd party mods, good gas mileage... good car for the money.. lot''s of everything you need where you need it.
Weakness:
slow (stock), lot''s of engine noise, crappy breaks, slow! slow! slow! only 127hp stock, 107 lbs or torque.. crappy! so if you buy one, expect to spend 2000.00 on suspention upgrades, and engine upgrades to make it feel like a normal sports car. oh one more thing! the shifting is crappy after a while (even after you get it serviced) This is a good car as long as you get the EX, or Si. I couldn''t imagine having a DX, or LX... the EX is slow enough as it is stock. The styling is great, it looks sporty and handled great stock. However, everyone has Civic''s, and they are REALLY slow too! This car is most certainly a must for modifications. everything works much better after.. honda puts crappy stuff in thier cars, my CD player broke, the tires suck, and the stock struts, and brakes suck. I would also change the exsaust, and intake... much much better performance for a little more money. other wise i am happy with my car, it''s fun to drive, and it''s very reliable. i have never had anything major wrong with it. pretty much everything was fixed under warrenty. (the window, head rest, and cd player) oh the warrenty is crappy too, it''s only 36,000 miles! i already have 40 on it. so get the powertrain thing... 60,000 mile covarage. um.. oh the speakers really really suck too! after i put a sony cd player in it, those things blew in like a week... not even turned up 1/2 way.. how crappy?!? umm... expensice to maintain, timing belts, coolent change, oil changes, transmision servicing, etc adds up to about 100.00 a month... 1200.00 a year... depending on how often you do stuff. anything OEM you can change on the engine, change it! honda parts are crappy. Similar Products Used: 1999 toyota camry- had more torque, but didn''t handle as well, and had zero options. 2000 toyota celica GT-S... well let''s not compare that wouldn''t be fair... handled about the same, and that was |

Strength:
Inexpensive and reliable and high resale value due to the tuner market
Weakness:
Not much power, only two seats. Only had this car 4 months but put 10,000 miles on it commuting. Surprising good handling and torquey little motor was offset but lack of horsepower. Top speed was about 85 mph. At 167,000 miles it was still running great, I should have kept this car because insurance and cheap and it used little gas. Only repair was a $90 modulator for the ignition. Thanks to it''''s small size it was easy to push the mile home when it died. Basic transportation, would definitely consider buying another if i didn''''t need AWD. Similar Products Used: 1989 Acura Integra, 1996 Acura Integra, 1999 Prelude |

Strength:
Strong engine with everything placed in the right spots.
Weakness:
A little noisy on bumpy roads. This is my first new car and I love it. It has the new 1.7L v-tec engine and it runs great. Fuel consumption is good (I get 370 miles a tank on a average). The interior is roomy with seating that comfortably accomodates 4 passangers. The flat rear floor is an added bonus when it comes to backseat passangers. The trunk is very roomy. The gauges are easliy able to be accessed as if they where designed for the driver to use them without looking. For a 4cyl car I must admit that the 128hp engine does have very nice acceleration. Also the redesigned sunroof that slides into the roof is a very nice feature as well with the hidden antenna in the rear windshield. reliability, longevity, resale, excellent handling, reasonably peppy, mileageZ
Weakness:
wind noise at highway speed, antenna mast has some rust, Bought the car in 1990, it now has 391,000 km on it. Overall a pretty solid car and the mileage on the highway is great (over 50 mpg (Canadian)). It has had regular maintenance and burns no oil at all. I''ve been through 2 water pumps (one at 302,000 km and the second at 348,000km) and the alternator went at 125,000km. Other than that there have been no major mechanical problems. Clutch replaced at 302,000km, muffler at 300,000km, rear struts in the 200,000km range. Has very little rust. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Handling, gas mileage, maintenance costs
Weakness:
Sun visor bolts loosened up and I had to put loctite on them. Hardly a weakness after 7 years. The best value in a car I''ve seen yet. Enough pick up to get on the highway easily and gas mileage that can''t be beat. No cost to maintain above the normal maintenance items. Similar Products Used: None |

Dealer treatment and the paint problem. I recently started getting what look like freckles on the hood, trunk, roof, and side panel (the paint in these places has worn down to the primer). The service mng at the dealer said that it was due to a chemical agent that got on my car and therefore won''t fix it under the warranty. If it weren''t for the paint problem I would definitely say that from now on I''d only buy Honda, but since they won''t fix the paint problem I''m weary to buy another Honda. Especially from the dealer where I got it. Overall I love my car. This is the first non-American car that someone in family has bought and I love it. The car is roomy enough all my friends, but small enough that I feel comfortable driving it. The cup holders are kind of annoying and the paint job STINKS, but overall I think that I couldn''t be happier. Similar Products Used: None |

Weakness:
cupholder excelleration factory tires horrible I bought my civic for 12,500 with a little swindling. Its a 4 door 1999 lx black. This car is awesome for the price the interior is great. I don''t like the fact that it revs out makes me worry about the transmission. The car drives like a dream for a small 4 door, gas mileage excellent factory tires suck. Radio horrible. I agree with everyone else cupholders a waste of time I''ve gone to fast food places and dumped the soda all over the floor the cupholder''s are useless take a turn and see u later soda. I wish it had a little more power but it''s enough considering the good gas mileage. no repairs I drive 50 miles a day highway 495. have 34000 on it. Runs very good. I bought it because I had two american cars a chevy and pontiac blew both of them up sorry gm but horribly engineered cars. Japanese vehicles just run longer there''s no way around it. My girlfriend has a 91 civic 2 door with 149000 on it, it will still do 100 with no problem no shaking. Toyota my first camry died at 248000 miles shame on american cars my pontiac died at 90000. I will say americans make exceptional trucks as for cars stop wasting your time at the garage. Similar Products Used: ford focus toyota corolla mercury mystique |
