great handling, decent pickup. Plenty of cargo space for everyday driving. This car has great reliability and amazing gas mileage. I usually find people staring at it in parking lots. It's good for people who want a car that isn't too played out. The roof is really fun in nice weather, and if you put a sound system in it, it sounds good even if you don't spend a lot of money, due to the small cab.
Weakness:
Rear visibility isn't great for a small person. The windows leak a little bit, but I haven't had any problems with the roof seal. Don't try to smoke when it's been raining for a while. The roof collects water. I would recommend this car to young people who don't have kids to drive around or anything. It's a really comfortable car, and it's a lot of fun to drive. As far as two seaters go, I think it's the most practical one. It's also great because of it's uniqueness. They're really rare. Reliability is great because it's a Honda. Mine has a lot of miles, and I haven't seen any trouble. Mileage is great. It's good for people who want an excuse not to drive people around. Similar Products Used: I've never driven anything like it. I have friends who have Preludes and Integras, and they love to drive my car. I used to have a truck and the difference in handling is refreshing. |

rattles, small leak when it rains hard, suspension a bit soft, high clutch Even after 2 years of ownership i still love getting in the car and going for a spin, the driving position and overall feeling when u sit behind the wheel is so good, nothing i have driven comes close, and ive driven an S2000,porsche 911,lotus elise and mercs.I advise u go for the Vtec model,it will send shivers down your spine the first time u rev it to 8000rpm,the noise is amazing!overall for a 7 yr old car its abilities still impress me.Buy one! Fast as any big V-8 out there. With 275hp in a car that only weights 2400lbs. how could it not be. And you cant beat the handeling with a stick. I think for me the oen best qualitie is the fact there there are only 4 other type R del sols in the states. And nto to mention the girls love it.
Weakness:
What is up with those cup holders. But then again what sports car needs cup holders. Hold on thats all i have to say, if you can get your hands on a type R del sol or and type R integra keep it. And to the owner of a Yellow Mustang 5.0 in my town, how does it feel to get tanked by and 4 banger Similar Products Used: nothing like it, maybe the new S2000 witch i haven't driven yet, but i herd its sweet |

Honda Civic Del Sol S
Strength:
Great Handling, Nice exterior curves, 32 miles to the gallon, removable hardtop, efficient trunk, good acoustics of sound(audio), very reliable, awesome interior appearance and space, back window rolls down so you can roll it down when it is raining or if you just want a nice breeze, awesome air conditioning and overwhelming heater!
Weakness:
bad placement of cup holders, small sun visors, sloppy corning when top is off, roof rattles, windows leak with heavy rain, 4 speed automatic transmission is slow, lack of power on the "S", 2 seater, hard to clean carpet... I love it! It turns many people's heads. I've had a guy stop at a light and had me roll down my window to tell him about my car while we were sitting at the red light! The only think I really don't like about it is a lack of power but that can be fixed. I strongly recommend it to whoever can find one and recommend it over any other honda or sport compact car. The good qualities cancel out the bad ones by far. Similar Products Used: I can't really compare it |

Civic del Sol S
Strength:
Well, the S model isn't TOO much of a sports car, although it can be modified a little to add some fun. But either way, fast or not, the Civic del Sol is a great car. During summer, it's great. Just take off the top, go cruising, have some fun. And contrary to popular belief, I don't consider it too much of a "girl's car". It's a Honda, so you know the quality is there, as well as the ability for easy, cheap improvement. Gas mileage? Incredible. Its a one of a kind car, I rarely see them out on the streets. Overall, it's a fun, sporty, affordable automobile.
Weakness:
I see a lot of people complaining about the leaky windows :-). Yes, it's true, but it's not that bad. It only has 2 seats...but sometimes that's an advantage, cuz I never have to drive a bunch of people around ;-) All in all, the del Sol is a great car. It deservese a lot more credit than most people give it. Sure the S model isn't fast or anything, but it's a fun car. And the VTEC model is very impressive. The targa top is great too, cuz in summer, it comes off with ease, and you're not stuck with a canvas top during winter. It's a comfortable ride, and the interior is pretty roomy for the size of the car. If you're young, single, and want a nice, sporty, fun car, the del Sol is for you. Similar Products Used: Well, I used to have a '91 Toyota Corolla DX...so I can't really compare them. People seem to like the del Sol better than comparable model Civics though. |

Honda del Sol
Strength:
The interior is extremely well laid out and taking the top of is a breeze (people are very impressed with the top's storage rack in the trunk.) The trunk is cavernous for a two-seater. The seats are very comfortable; I especially like the fact they are bucket. The high-reving VTEC engine is quite impressive in the acceleration department, and the handling is great as well. Typical Honda reliablity. Gas mileage is about 32 a gallon, especially good for such a quick car. It's design gives it a unique look.
Weakness:
It is very noisy. No trunk release. The cup holders are about the most useless accessory ever put into an automobile. This car is an absolute joy to drive. I have owned it for close to three years and I still thoroughly encounter a rush when the top is off and I'm driving a back country road. I highly recommend it, particularly if you can find a moderately priced one. Similar Products Used: It is quicker and more practical than the Miata, but doesn't handle as well. |

Honda Civic Del Sol Si
Strength:
For a small car, it has great trunk space. The Del Sol Si, has great take off, and I love the interior.
Weakness:
The only bad thing that I notice alot is the blind spots. Once you get used to them, it isn't that bad. It is the way the top slants down, you can't see anything on your sides in some postions. The cup holder is a little hard to get to, but once you get used to reaching for it, not a big deal. I love my Del Sol! It may be small, but it still has great room! I would reccommend it to anyone who wants a great sports car, but doesn't want to put out a lot of money. For the price, this is a great car! Similar Products Used: None |

Weakness:
Sloppy cornering when in stock trim w/o the targa in place. Over all this car is sweet. It comes stock w/a peppy motor, smooth body and phat interior. If your into tuning cars this is one of the easiest ones thanks to the popularity of the standard civic. Rain Drop Del Sol
Model Reviewed:
/ VTEC(B16-A3)
Strength:
This car has the ability to real take off. I think the best thing about this particular car, is that it comes with the dual over-head cam engine. I tell you there is nothing like the Del Sol VTEC when the second cam kicks in and your hear that VTEC really kicking. The noise of the VTEC is more defined with basic bolt-on's like an intake (AEM) headers (DC) and an cat-back exhaust (Tanabe Racing Medallion Exhaust). Handling is excellent with the use of the Double-Wishbone Suspension and stock strut bar. Overall I think this car is an excellent investment especially if you live in a sunny state. I forgot to mention, next to the Recaro Seats that are offered in the Civic Type-R, I think the Del Sol Seats are the best.
Weakness:
The leaking when it rains, no back-seat, small (really small sun visor) My experience with this car is just beautiful. 7800 rpm's here I come! Similar Products Used: Previously I've owned an 1996 Acura Integra GS-R and unless your willing to get the Type-R, I think the GS-R is a bit over-rated. |
