Strength:
these are amazing little cars. they are so light wieght they don't need all that much horse power, yet with a Si you get that power. a great, speedy, little car for not all that much money.
Weakness:
rust has become a factor, but not much else CRX's are the predisessor to the del-sol, and since there is no CRX review (hint-hint) I'd like to say, this is the car that started import mania. this is a car that wieghs 2100 lbs wet, has 110hp, has no power stearing, no AC, a peppy 5-speed, and for the most part is the most after-market abundant car around. Great car for the summer. Very nice cornering. I love how fast and easy it is to take off the top. Low insurance for teenager. Peppy. The look and for the most part the feel.
Weakness:
The leaking windows. Not as fast as I would like it to be. Otherwise none. Every girl I see says its cute. I paid 3700 for the car with 146,000 miles. Still haven't driven it in the winter. I would defitnetly recommend it to a teenager or a college student, but not the most ideal car for a family to have. Otherwise this is my first car and I'am extremly happy with it. Well first off to all those rednecks who diss this car: your just pissed cuz this lil' honda can smoke your ford or chevy. With very little tweaking
Weakness:
Too bad it's only a two seater. I only paid 9000$ for mine. It was well worth it. To those who want a possible honda hotrod buy this car. You can get so many parts for this car like sugerchargers, turbos and NOS. It's funny to see peoples jaws drop when your passing them in such a small car. Similar Products Used: The only that can keep up with my honda are very high hp V8's. The day of the V8 is over! |

Strength:
Removable top that never leaks. Confortable seats. Can fit a KEG in the trunk even WITH the top in there--which is something I haven't seen any other 2 seater accomplish, or even a Civic coupe. 160+ horsepower makes this car haul. VERY reliable. Girls really like this car.
Weakness:
I wish it was just a bit quicker. With a few modifications it is pretty fast even still. I wish that when you leave your lights on and get out of the car it would beep or something. Have push started/jumped this car about 10-15 times when running during the day with the lights on. I can't recommend this car enough. Have put 2 years and 30k miles on it and it has dropped less than $2000 in value. Great for equity. Very reliable. Very fast. Similar Products Used: I've driven a lot of cars--this was the second Honda I ever drove. Fell in love with it. I was going to get either this, a VW Corrado VR6, Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo, Porche 944, etc. It is vastly more reliable, just as much if not more fun than any of those other cars that I evaluated. |

Honda Del Sol
Strength:
1.6L 160 hp VTEC Engine, 6900rpm Redline, Exelent Gas Mileage, Superior Handling, Hard-Top Convertible, Great Looks, Girls Love it.
Weakness:
Squeeky Roof, Poor Visibility (to other vehicles especialy trucks.) I consider myself very lucky to drive a Del Sol, especialy as my first car. This little car is so much fun to drive. With 160 HP and virtualy no weight, it gets around. The handling is exelent. This car is sporty enough to enjoy and play with, yet reliable enough to drive for years. The girls love it. I dislike Rag-Top Convertibles, because they are so prone to vandalizim and wear, so the Del Sol is a perfect solution. The Interior is ergonomic and suprisingly roomy. Although a certian amount of wear and tear is to be expected, individuals who complain about leaking roofs, usualy have bought a used car that has been washed with High Pressure water hoses (those often found in gas station car washes); The owners manual discourages this. I bought my Del Sol new in late 96' and have had no problems with leaks. Similar Products Used: Much more comfortable than Mazda Miata |

Strength:
This little sport car can beat any single cam civics and hatchbacks. Being made fun of alot by others who don't drive this car, it is quite satisfying. Many people call it a "chick" car, but it can beat many compact cars out there in the streets
Weakness:
You can't smoke when it rains. Leaks from the roof. Sometimes it just gets to rough on the road. The car is to close to the ground. For the price i paid for this vehicle, it has made me very quite fond of this car. Having a dual cam 1.6 motor, it does what it suppose to. Similar Products Used: It is actually more roomier than a mazda miata, or Mercedes SLK. |

del Sol S
Strength:
Where to begin? By far, one of the most enjoyable cars I have ever driven. To put it bluntly, I had the option of buying a 1993 Mustang 5.0, a restored 1964 Chevy Impala, or a del Sol. I know I made the right choice. I have had my car for little over a year and have enjoyed every minute. The reliability is exceptional. I could only find the low-end model (the S), but even the thrifty version of this fantastic car ia a blast to drive. The 106 horsepower feels like 200 in such a lightweight car. The top is for people who want a convertible, but don't want the problems usually associated with a drop top. Even in the deep South, where rainstorms are an everyday occurence, the top has yet to even drip. Honda did a great job in designing the del Sol. It really makes you wonder why they discontinued production of this pint-sized rocket.
Weakness:
The only thing that I can honestly complain about is the blind spot when trying to see what's behind you. The support pillar for the roof is just too wide. When driving this car, you rely on your side rearview mirrors heavily. If you have the chance to obtain any model of this car, please do so! This is THE teenager's car. Reliable, fun, quick, and most of all, good looking. Honestly, any price under $9000 is worth it. Similar Products Used: Mazda Miata: a true roadster: noisy, cramped, rough riding, and unreliable. All the things that the del Sol is not. |

Looks good, great shifter-short notchy throws, handles great, great gas milage. Removable top trunk storage a true design work of art.
Weakness:
Water leaks. Sunvisors pretty useless. Screams "Chick Car!" Bought car recently with 41000 miles on it for my wife to drive to college. Car still smells new. A good deal at 6500 with milage this low. Discovered carpet on passenger side soaked after a heavy rain. Removed EVERYTHING, carpets, seats interior/trunk panels. Found three leaks- antenna, bottom of retractable window assembly(clogged drain tubes), and trunk weather seal not mating to trunk in the corner. I was amazed at the number of drain tubes this car has designed into the structure! Owners beware of leaks. Great car other than that, wife loves it. I'll stick with my Mach-1. Cheap
Weakness:
This car can't be respected when people know what you paid for it. Really cheap, but it has nothing to offer. A real sports car needs to be a bigger purchase. This is like getting a bike with training wheels. Its ok to get one, but you wont want it for very long Similar Products Used: None |
