Strength:
Nice and small. Easy to get around in town and also goes fairly well on the highway. It is cheap on gas and perfect for a student.
Weakness:
Leaks when it rains hard. And the roof piece tends to squeek a lot when there is any type of temp. change. Cup holder is in a bad spot. Excellent running car. Just the normal maintanence required. Has 320,000kms or about 180,000 miles and still purrs. Starting to get little rust spots since this is the first year I have driven it in the winter but will be easy to repair if caught in time. Very unique car and cheap sports car. Perfect for summer days!! Similar Products Used: Beats Mazda, Ford, and Toyota!! |

This car really is alot faster than it looks. It can beat most cars off the line. It redlines at 7200 rpm sweet ride. The car handles good in the winter and the top comes off in the summer. Chicks really love it and is easy to upgrade. You cant forget honda's longhaul life lasts forever.
Weakness:
The windows fog up all the time in the winter. Takes awhile to adjust the defroster. Alot of blind spots. I love my car it runs really good. The top comes off easy and puts back on the same. The gas mileage is great and deserves much praise. I just can't believe honda would stop making it. Although i wouldn't mind having one of those S2000's. It is gonna take me a while to save that kind of money up. Well anyways overall if you like sports cars and convertibles and wanna save money while attracting chicks this is the way to go. Everything! Honda was stupid for stopping this car's production. Extremely Reliable, feels much heavier than it looks, suprisingly stable at high speeds especially when you factor in the 13" wheels & cheap tires that I have on my car. Good handling.
Weakness:
The typical: awkward rear visibilty, minor leaks & sqeaks... This car is full of suprises. It is much more practical than the typical two-seeter. You can't go wrong with a Honda. Anyone who complained about the performance of this car should consider the enormous aftermarket for high performance and cosmetic parts for Hondas. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants cheap, reliable, yet fun transportation. Fun little car. Not really a sports car but it's a great daily driver.
Weakness:
Really slow and no power whatsoever. I guess it didn't get the nickname "del slow" for nothing. The chassis is also quite flexy, which is completely out of place for a Honda. I was also disappointed in the 204 foot 70-0 stopping distance. This is ridiculous for a car that weighs so little. If you are looking for a nice little car to drive around town then a Del Sol is probably a good choice. But if you are a guy that is looking for a sports car that will be a thrill to drive I would then avoid this car due to its nonexistent power, bad brakes, flexy chassis, and its reputation as a "chick car." Roof rattle I don't regret buying this car for one single second. It is a great car, one I will keep for a long time. I go through things very quickly, but this I know will be different. I extend my errands to long drives just so I can drive the car. Although the previous owner took horrible care of this car, after a little compounding and waxing, this car looks great. it runs perfect considering it has 120,000 miles on it. Absolutely no rattles without the roof. Similar Products Used: I sold my 95 Plymouth Neon Sport Coupe for this car. It doesn't even compare, the Del Sol is quicker, handles better, and looks better. It is better in every way. Wind noise is even better, WITHOUT the top on, lol... Neons have ridiculous wind noise through the windows. |

Cute looking car, targa top, VTEC engine, smooth manual transmission, sport seats, good gas mileage.
Weakness:
Needs more torque before the VTEC kick in. I like this car. Everytime I drive my car with the top down, I get so many attention. My boyfriend is into working on his car so my car is slightly modified. The car is lowered with sports shocks and springs, high performance exhaust system, air intake system, front and rear strut bars, and a nice 16 inch Racing Sparco wheels. The car has a manual transmission. Right now I have the SOHC VTEC engine, I wish I have the DOHC VTEC engine though. This is a great car. It gives a pretty good gas mileage and pretty quick for what it is. A lot of guys on the road underestimate me because I'm a girl but I beat so many guys with a better car out there. I also race this car on the track once in a while whenever my boyfriend goes there to race his car. Overall, I think this is a pretty good reliable car but I don't think this car would match a guy because the design is pretty feminine. The targa top is very easy to remove and the storage is quite clever. Trunk is huge. Seat is very comfortably designed with the console working as an armrest. It's peppy and cute as a button. And it has Honda reliability. Great turning radius, too. Love zipping into parking spaces with this thing! Good storage compartments behind the seats.
Weakness:
The ROOF LEAKS badly. This is especially a problem during a typical Florida summer. In fact, the trunk appears to leak as well. The sunvisors and cupholders are useless. And the blind spot is a serious problem for petite person like myself. Can't get the trunk unlocked with one hand. Have to keep the key turned while you use the other hand to lift the trunk. Pretty awkward with groceries. Lots of fun to drive! Gets over 30mpg which is more than I expected for such a "sporty" car. Everyone was excited when I told them what I purchased and wanted a ride. Love the rear window that rolls down. Feels great to drive around with the top down. Can't wait until winter rolls around here in sunny Florida! I'll have to hide the keys from my boyfriend who longs for the Porsche 914 from his college years. Similar Products Used: 95 Honda Civic CX hatchback - naturally the del Sol is more sporty, more sexy and more fun but I'm hoping it is just as reliable as my CX. The insurance was only $8 more per year for the del Sol! |

seats are soooo comfy, shifter is very smooth, i like the 1993 year because of the foglights and the fatter spokes on the rims - the car looks perfect with a spoiler! lots of trunk space and good A/C.
Weakness:
roof leaks a lot (sucks when you deliver pizzas in the rain) and rattles some, wheel well gap is large so i dropped it 2", no trunk release inside the car, no buzzer for headlights, no low fuel indicator light, cup holders are in odd place. also, it's got a huge blind spot but that just forces drivers to pay more attention, so i guess that would be a strength! great car! quick for an economy car - huge trunk for it's size. i bought the car as a 2nd car and it has worked out great - no problems except for a dead battery ;) Similar Products Used: 99 honda civic ex - well, i guess now that i've hopped that up it doesn't compare, but the del sol is quicker than the civic was when it was stock |
