Strength:

Super reliable, great handling. The body style is beautiful. The interior is very nice, too. The level of craftsmanship is remarkable.

Weakness:

The engine compartment is a little cramped compared to some cars I've dealt with. Rear wheel drive would be nice. Also, there's the typical rusting problem.

I bought this car used in 1994. It currently has about 130,200 miles on it. I've had to replace the entire exhaust sysem, brakes, and timing belt (preventative maintenance on that), and one front half-shaft. Other than that, it's only needed typical minor repairs over the years like gaskets, a battery, etc.

I love this car, and think the body style is very cool; however, mine's starting to get pretty rusty (I wish the body's steel had been a little thicker and/or been pretreated better). Never the less, it handles like a dream and looks great. As I like to say, it may be getting long in the tooth, but it's still a classy looking car, mint condition or a little dinged and rusty.

I'm not sure what I'll replace it with someday, maybe a 3rd or 5th generation Prelude or an early/mid-'90s 3 series BMW.

1981 Pontiac Phoenix ----- Prelude is higher quality throughout.
1984 Plymouth Reliant ---- Prelude is higher quality throughout.
1983 Toyota Celica GT ---- Celica has more power, is rear drive.
1984 Audi 4000S Quattro -- Audi's less reliable as it ages.
1985 Porsche 944 --------- Porsche seems less reliable as it ages, too.

I realize all of these cars aren't in the same class as the Prelude, but they're what I have experience with.

Weakness:

Blood stained seats, The mafia after me, the car sucks, people should buy american and stop f u c k i n g our economy. Rice Burners suck. Plus i like burining out, not burning rice. Front wheel drive sucks my nutz too.

I liked the guy that sold me the car, but he gave me a pink napkin instead of the pink "slip".

Strength:

big sunroof, turning radius, and small (can fit in any parking space)

Weakness:

slow, engine, alignment goes off easily, overall reliability.

The first week I bought this car I had to fix the speedometer. Then throughout the 2 years that I had it I probably spent over $2000 on it just to fix the engine. That doesn't include normal maintenance. I also had to fix the exaust bracket and there are tons of holes in the exhaust. I think the person that had it before me destoyed it and the dealership I bought it from made it just good enough to sell so I wouldn't know there was anything wrong with it. I totally regret buying it and now am having trouble selling it for any money because it's such a piece of crap. It's also super slow and it is a carborator so it starts like crap. Threre is nothing any mechanic could do for it. It's just old I guess.

Similar Products Used:

1988 Toyota Corolla. Also a piece of crap but much slower than the prelude.

Strength:

Excellent handling and reliabity. Is one of the best looking cars around. Chicks love it, they'll want drive it. Very good acceleration.

Weakness:

Small backseat and could use some extra HP, but after adding my i/e/h its fine.

So far my Prelude has been great. The Prelude is a great buy that nothing can match. I've had it for about 6 months now. I love everything about this car. To bad its the last year for the Lude. You should only buy this car is its gonna be a manual. Celic's and GSR's are almost always manual, so if your is an auto you could get embrassed.
