Prelude 2.0 SI
Strength:
Body style that will be a classic (5th gen preludes came back to this body style) 135 HP is plenty coupled with a 5 speed.
Weakness:
Automatic Tranny Thumps when it shifts (I recommend a 5speed for the added performance, its supposed to be a sports car ya know) Overall the 3rd Gen has to be one of the best investments. Mine has 125,000 miles and the only thing I have had fixed was the transmission (needed a new one, automatic in a 4 banger is not a good idea). My mom's Prelude SI has 160,000 miles and hers runs better than mine. With regular oil changes and maintainance, this car will easily go 200,000 miles. Prelude 2.0 Si
Strength:
Handling, fun-to-drive quotient. Great handler with wide Dunlop tires. Comfort (in the front only of course).
Weakness:
Had trouble with the air conditioning early on. It took the dealer several tries to fix it. Great car since we bought it in '92. Handles great, comfortable, and has quite adequate (though not overwhelming)power. We love driving this car on curvy mountain roads. Similar Products Used: none |

Si 2.3l 4WS
Strength:
Speed, acceleration, suspension (no body roll!), 4WS rocks!, the LOOKS!
Weakness:
It's a 92 'lude, so the rust can be a minor problem (if you act quickly - if not it can be a PROBLEM), also, creaking sunroof, and - but hey, that's the point ;) - speeding tickets! Superb handling, acceleration and overall agility... have you ever experienced the comfort of having quick and agile car on a highway? Everyone else seems frozen in time - and you're just choosing your route :) Great car, beautiful styling (much better than 5th gen IMHO)... power everything makes that comfy feel (although stiff suspension can ruin this on bad roads - but hey, "no body roll " experience is worth it! It's 9 years old car, but people don't believe that when I show them the car :) Very reliable, fuel economy is good, the ride is quite smooth, and the automatic transmission hurts performance only slightly. Four wheel steering is something that can be demanding on the driver at first - if you're used to normal cars you should watch not to hit another car with your side when parking (the turning radius is so small). The real problem - Honda parts... using genuine new Honda parts can make you broke! (Power antenna - 150$, timing belt, two gears and replacement - 250$)... BUT - if you put some effort and repair what needs to be repaired - the reward is a great, reliable sports car you can count on! Similar Products Used: 92 Honda CRX DelSol VTEC - sheesh, VTEC ROCKS, but I prefer the looks of the Prelude, also the Prelude has more interior space (it is a Four... ehm.. 2.75 seater :) |

2.0 Si
Strength:
great interior, easy shifting, love the power-assisted rack and pinion steering, amazing handling
Weakness:
can be slow (i think this is a suspension problem because it rattles alot and i just busted a CB joint), tons and tons of rust (trying to fix but i cant keep up with the new spots), hard to find custom parts fitting this car This is my first car but so far I like what I got. It was worth $1500 but got it for $800 because it was a family friend. Im a teenager and in the current trend of making the car radicaly dumb looking and its good for that. I got custom 15 inch wheels that are 7 inch wide. (compared to 14 and 6). I put a body kit kind of thing and am soon to get a giant spoiler. It has 179k miles and still going strong. After we rebuilt the engine and did a little body work I estimate it at about $4500. This car is great for teenagers who want a good look, decent speed, and decent gas mileage. Similar Products Used: my friend just bought a 94 vtec lude. personally i like my style more except for the rear view. i like my interior better. i havent raced much but heres what ive raced: |

Power, handling, comfortable, good engine, factory system is very clear and loud, fun car!
Weakness:
No room in the back seat, Im 6'5 and I dont really care, it's a four seater: two adultsin the front and 2 midgets or infants in the back. Sweet Car, Turns Heads, fast and hands down one of the best handling cars under 30 g's. I would give it a four star rating because of the fact that it lacks low end torque. Similar Products Used: Driven my girlfriend's 2000 Accord V6 Coupe, The lude is more sportier and handles better but the Accord is fully loaded and way classier, I still love the lude. |

Si 4WS
Strength:
The 4WS, and the 5-Speed is definantly the way to go.
Weakness:
Haven't found one. I didn't like the car to begin with but, after driving it for the first time i fell in love with it. It handles like a dream on curvy roads, and zipping into parking spots with the 4WS is fun. It is an incredible car and i recommend it to anyone that likes a little sports car without the huge price. Similar Products Used: I've smoked every car that i've ever raced in it. I don't know about you but, i don't know too many stock cars that will beat so called "pimped out" cars that friends of mine drive. |

Premium Gas only What a car! It has good looks and it sure does turn heads. It handles like I don't know what! I have only owned it for a little time and I would say that it is worth every penny. The ride is smooth and the shifts are effortless. You have to be careful because it is so smooth its hard to tell how quick you are going. It has a great sound system. Too bad this wasn't the Autobond that way you could see what the car could actually do. It is so tempting to just slam the foot down to the ground and let the car do the work. Overall it is a good car for the price. Similar Products Used: None |
