Strength:
They are economical, that is if you don''t spend the gas money on repairs to defects.
Weakness:
They are not engineered nor manufactured as well as their competition, despite what Kia may say, and they have virtually no value after the first year of ownership. Terrible execution of their supposed "best warranty in the industry". Deceptive advertising of their "best warranty in the industry". The customer and dealer services can be as bad as the car, if not worse. And to the hot-rodders of these things: USE THE MODDING MONEY AND YOUR KIA TO GET A REAL SPORTS CAR. This is simply not a good car. How they can even try to compare it to a Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic is beyond me. It''s reliability is worse overall. And, the icing on the cake, The Kias are among the worse performers in crashworthiness tests conducted by the IIHS. Oh, and the so-called "most comprehensive warranty in the industry" is a joke. The 10 year/100,000 mile warranty only covers the drivetrain (engine/transmission), which is like the most durable part in the car. Everything else is 5 years/60,000 miles. And that doesn''t stop there. There have been a plethora of reports indicating very poor warranty responses from Kia. Personally, I''d rather spend the extra thousand or so to get a car that is proven safe and reliable. If you have actually had a good experience with this car, then you are lucky. These things usually fail prematurely, even with a good preventative maintenence scehdule applied to it. Most experienced mechanics have claimed that these suckers generally have a lifespan of about two years, which is why I only mostly see newer Kias on the road. It''s strange. I''ve seen a lot of the Kias driving around in the city where I live in when they first came out here in 1997, but those same Kias weren''t there anymore after only approximately one year. My retired 1989 Crown Victoria police interceptor is more reliable than these cracker boxes, and a hell of a lot more rugged to boot. As for resale value, the value of Kia vehicles will drop like boat anchors in a river. That''s the other thing about buying a Honda, at least they will maintain their resale value very well, as well as outshining Kia in the quality department. - Reinhart Similar Products Used: None |

Fun to Drive,Style,Warranty
Weakness:
Brakes,Cheap Parts, Needs more aftermarket performance parts. I like my Kia Sephia, I have had to replace the transmission after only 27,000 miles, but thats because i race it alot. The Brakes Suck, and sometimes the door sticks. I love how it handles though, and its fun to drive. Overall i like this car, and would recommend this car to someone if they have a tight budget or are young and want a first car to start out with. Similar Products Used: Honda Civic,Toyota Carolla |

Kia Sephia
Strength:
Value, warrenty, road side assistance, handling, and great gas mileage.
Weakness:
The fact that even before i made one car payment the car is back at the dealer.I have no other real weakeness that I can see or feel driving the car.the only other thing that I do not like is that it is very low to the ground and the metal is thin and you can feel all the bumps in the road. I have had my 2001 Kia Sephia for just 2 days shy of one month, and I have not even made the first payment yet and the car is BACK AT THE DEALER.The engine light came on and I checked the oil and a drop of oil was on the stick..I was very upset BUT they towed it quickly and the car is being fixed in a timly manner. Overall I think the KIA is a great value, and it drives great, roomy, and has a great warrenty and road side assistace. The Sephia has great trunk space for a smaller car and the inside is very comfortable. Similar Products Used: I have a 2000 Kia Sportage and I love it. No problems at all.. |

WELL IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING SUICIDE THIS WOULD BE THE BEST CHOICE... TRUST ME.
Weakness:
WELL, WELL. LETS SEE ON THE WORST THINGS YOU COULD THINK OF. NO.... ON EVERYTHING BAD YOU COULD THINK OF. WOW I AM ACCTUALLY AMAZED ABOUT THIS CAR. I COULD NOT POSSIBLY IMAGINE THAT A CAR COULD BE AS PATHETIC AS THE KIA SEPHIA. EVERYTHING ON THIS CAR SUCKS BIG TIME. THE PEOPLE WITH POSITIVE REVIEWS HAVE EITHER ANOTHER CAR, HAVE IT FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, OR ARE OUT OF THEIR FRICKING MIND. JUST TO START THE BREAKS ARE HORRIBLE AND SOUNDS, THE AC MAKES A LOUSY NOISE. THE CAR DOES NOT RESPOND, IT HAS NO POWER. THE PARTS ARE EXPENSIVE AND THEY TREAT YOU LIKE SLAVES IN COSTUMER SERVISE. EVERY THING INSIDE ITS SO FRAGILE, IF YOU TOUCH IT TWICE ITS BROKEN. THE BATTERY WAS DRAINED ON THE FIRST WEEK OF PURCHASE. HAS NO CONFORT. ITS ALWAYS BRAKING DOWN. WELL TO MAKE THE LONG STORY SHORT IF YOU BUY THIS CAR YOU WILL BE GIVING MECHANICS A GREAT BUSINESS AND A NEW PIECE OF S#!T CAUSE YOUR MECHANIC WILL SPEND MOST OF THE TIME WITH THE CAR. I WOULD RECOMEND THIS CAR TO HITLER AND THE OWNER OF THIS STUPID COMPANY THAT SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF THE MAP AND OUT ITS MISERY. Breaks, power, air conditioning, security, comfort, reliability. I had this car for 2 weeks now. This car its almost new and it has give me a lot of problems. First of all it doesn''t respond as it should, the breaks tend to sound, as well as the air conditioning. This has been the worst car I have ever driven. I would not recomend this car at all. Everything, but especially the brakes. I have has this piece of crap car for almost 2 years now! I think it is the worst car anyone can ever buy!! It may be cheap but maybe that is the reason that nothing works! My brakes have been changed so many times its ridiculous. Now I here it has to do with something called a calliper. Whatever, the brakes can never be found anywhere but the dealer, which charges you an arm and a leg. And the only way the brakes are warranted is if the dealer does the work and charges you even more money. My sister has a Kia Rio that she just purchased a few months ago and her brakes are already giving her problems as well. If you''re smart, do not dare buy any type of Kia!!!! driver seat breaking down around edges, some interior problems This little car has gotten me thru some hard situations. I admit I''m not the QUEEN of the road, I''ve wrecked it 4 times. One time I was broadsided and landed it in a muddy ditch, it pulled me out. One time I was rear ended, and twice I have rear ended other people. It has been moderatley priced to fix, and great service from those at the dealership. Thanks Big D. Kia in Dallas. I am in sales and my Kia has dragged me around for 84 thousand miles! I have never had any bad problems with it...even with the wrecks. one with major front end and engine damage. Similar Products Used: none |
