Strength:

Comfort, price, gas milage

Weakness:

Reliablity, brakes

My Kia has 44k miles. It has been pretty good. It needs a new starter and some brake work. That''s the major thing with Kia, the brakes! I like the car, but I will not buy another one. My next car will be a Honda or a Ford. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for comfort at a cheap price!

Strength:

Great Gas Mileage, affordable, where else can you buy a car for $16,800. and get all the options accept auto transmission??

Weakness:

Interior noise is quite loud at highway speeds, (then again... you could always just turn up the stereo?!) Other cars may be more refined but you will sure pay for it!

Wonderful car for the Money, few minor problems (under warranty: Child door lock engages on it''s own, rattle in dash vent, trunk lock sticky) Nothing else wrong.

everything!-The gas lid gets stuck and wont open. This is embarassing when you are trying to pump gas.

I cannot say enough bad things about this car. Here is a little list of some of my problems and it only has 23,000 miles on it.The brakes have been replaced numerous times, the dash board is coming off!The a/c makes a weird sound (scary)The back window was replaced due to leaking.signal switch fell off and had to be replaced.Door panel is loose.check ingine light will not go off.the trunk is like an alligater that tries to bite your head off if you open it.whats with that? The dealership has done nothing to help with these problems. The car is worth nothing on a trade in.I wish someone would steal it.But no one is that desperate.Im just stuck.Im thinking of donating it to charity.A bicycle is more dependable.Ido not recomend this car to anyone.

breaks

I have had this car for over a year, and contrary to popular belief, it''s a great car. I''ve had the breaks replaced only once. And have had no problems with any other aspect. We have driven over 30,000 miles and 3 states with wonderfull results. It''s a great car at a great price. I woud recommend this car for anyone looking for a good deal.

Weakness:

Uummm from what i was told the breaks are to small for the car and wear out very fast.

OMG. Had this so called car for 2 days. 38 miles on it and I turned the AC on and hear a crunching noise, a big crunching noise. I made some calls to some local car repair men, well after hearing what they had to say I took the car back. Even with the fact that the dealer would not take the car back ( Oh I still didn`t not have a finance Co yet lol ) Well anyway I just left them the keys and picked up a Cavalier. No way was I going to suffer with this TOY! If you are looking to buy a cheap car go with a name brand. something that has a proven track record. Do your self a favor DO NOT BUY A KIA!!!

Strength:

dependability, milage, fun to drive.

Weakness:

had some cosmetic problems in the beginning.Has No Real ReSale value.

I have been reading the reviews on this car, and have read a lot of negative comments. I want to state the following positive, My Kia Sephia is a 1997 model. I purchased it on June 16, 1997 (with 24 miles on it) I used it for work all over the State of Florida and have taken it to Maryland and Louisiana (with NO problems) I now have 189.954 miles on it I have had NO MAJOR PROBLEMS with the engine or transmision (automatic) The water pump did go out at 178.000 miles and I have replaced the front brakes four times (front wheel drive brakes wear faster) I now need to replace the rear brakes let me say that these are the FACTORY ORIGINAL they have lasted 189.000 + miles OVER ALL I AM IMPRESSED WITH CAR and would recommend it to any one with the understanding that they do PREVENATIVE MAINT. i.e. Change the Oil and other Fluids on a regular basis. Would buy another Kia in a heartbeat.

Strength:

Dependable for day-to-day driving.

Weakness:

No affordable repair manuals available.

I will of had my ''99 Kia sephia one year in october 2001. I am having difficulty removing the stereo system from the dash and since no company has made a repair manual for it, I must go buy one from the dealership for $115. If anyone can e-mail me on how to remove the stereo I would greatly appreciate it. I have had to get new brakes just once and I am very happy with the performance. Nothing else is wrong with it. This is a dependable car for the $9,000 I paid. It had 18,000 miles on it and I have just recently past 28,000 miles and have only needed new brake pads thus far. I wanted a car I could depend on to get me through college without many problems and I found it. I have no problems with telling a friend to buy one, even a used one like mine.

Affordable, nice look to it.

Weakness:

Trade value makes it worthless! Constant repair!

Well, after reading the reviews of other people, I can say that I too have had the same problems. Tires went at 20,000 miles, battery went than less after a year. Brakes went bad after 9 months. Four different recalls. Just recently I've taken it to different dealerships to try and trade it in (Honda, Acura, Toyota) and the highest offer I've gotten for trade value is 5000 dollars. I still owe 6800 dollars, hence im upside down by 1800 dollars. It's a good deal for people that are in a pinch (I guess?) But not something I'd reccomend
