Strength:

No matter how old it is, it runs stylish. Has a lot a room and drives smooth. You can pay for this and get your moneys worth. It's built to last. Expect to get a alot a compliments and comaprison with BWS and Mercedes vehicles.

Weakness:

Only major problems I had with this vehicle is replacing and brakes and having the rotors cut.

In paid $15K for this vehicle and have 12 payments left. So far I haven't had any major problem with this vehicle and have been complimented many of times about this vehicle.

Strength:

Powerful acceleration, nice body style, very roomy and comfortable, smooth/quite ride, one of the biggest engines in its class

Weakness:

Rotors, little recognition, low resale value

The 1997 Diamante LS is a very nice car. I paid $26K and I believe that it was worth it. With the Diamante you get a very smooth ride and powerful acceleration. The LS comes loaded. The only problem I continue to have is with the rotors. I've had to re-surface the front rotors about every eight or nine months. Without question, this car deserves to be in the category of a low end Lexus or Mercedes. It certainly has the feel and all of the bells and whistles.

Model Reviewed: Diamante ES (loaded)

Strength:

This car has a amazing looks, all the room you need on the inside, all the nicest features you could ask for, a smooth ride, powerful engine(read below), comffy seats, cool gadgets on the inside, nice panels, cool feeling, and steering wheel radio controls (THE BEST FEATURE BY FAR!!!), the option of putting it in ECO or PWR mode (Power mode is nice and with the overdrive off you get some real acceleration but as you press the gas you can actually see the gas meter dropping!), Nice cornering abilities.

Weakness:

- This car has the slowest acclereration I have ever witnessed (the low end on this car is hideous).
- Yes you have a powerful engine but you can't really use it considering you'll be killed by the gas prices.
- No heated side mirrors.
- Expensive brake's and compnents that last about as long as a full gas tank.
- The car is so heavy that the engine has to make up for it in the terms of wasting more gas.
- The gas pedal is hard and often takes a hard push in order to get it going, try doing that while paralel parking.
- This one might be just mine, but it's scratch and dent prone, I don't get it, every month there's a new scratch or dent on it.
- Low resale value unless you have low mileage (which I do thank god)

Great car, great looks!

It has some issues with the acceleration and gas but overall a luxurious ride with nice extras. I wouldn't buy another one (unless I got a great deal on a top of the line LS model with low mileage) but I'm very glad I had this one. I wouldn't trade-in the experiences I had with this car for the world, but for a 2002 Maxima SE 20th Anniv. Edition, I'd definatley trade in this car!

This was my first car and is worth it if it is going to be someone else's first car. It taught me to budget gas money and when my job didn't make enough money to fill it's tank every 5 days ($27.00 in NJ) it taught me to take the bus!

Strength:

Quiet, powerful, smooth, comfort, handling, great stereo, beautiful interior and exterior.

Weakness:

Overlooked by the press and the public.

Paid $26,800 for luxury package. Have owned one year and 8,500 miles.

A very nice car. Smooth and powerful acceleration. Excellent transmission shifts seamlessly and adapts to drivers style. Loaded with nice luxury touches and plenty of interior storage. Steering wheel feels great in your hands and it handles competently. Distinctive exterior styling is the best in its field. Interior is warm and attractive. Very comfortable power driver's seat with two memory positions.

No problems in first year of ownership. Build quality is excellent. Nothing misaligned or improperly assembled.

Would recommend to anyone as an excellent car equal to others costing up to $6,000 more.

Strength:

Good handling car, powerfull takeoff, comfortable seats, nice body style.

Weakness:

Already replaced transmission, replaced alternator, power antenna does not work and warrenty will not replace it, lighter does not work and I had to furnish a CD player.

For the Price of $25,000 we could have had more options and less trouble.

Strength:

This is akin to driving a BMW or a Mercedes at a lot lower price. Seems to be a rare sight on the road and so very noticeable and distinctive. /absolutely beautiful inside.

Weakness:

Can't find any except that noone appears to know what it is.thus gets a lot of curious lookers. this to me is an asset when customers are buying super dollar vehicles for their distinctive appearance.

Paid $30000. Well worth the money in a cookie cutter choice.

Strength:

both sporty and luxury, leather, steering wheel radio controls (finds the 8 strongest stations whereever you go, great ride and handling. Can't leave your lights on or lock your car with keys in the ignition. Love the feel of the leather covered steering wheel. (though it's starting to peel, now). Nice sound system, with aux input.

Weakness:

brakes don't last long in stop & go commuting. Never was happy with the headroom for the driver--not for tall folks. If you pass 4K mi without changing the oil, get ready for the valve chatter! Brake dust accumulates on front wheels pretty quick. Wish there was a better cup holder. Stereo system located UNDER the cupholder!

When I bought it new, wanted to hold on to it for 8 years. I'll probably make that (107K now), but I feel like I'm driving an old car now. Steering wheel peeling, interior driver door handle plating coming off, and cutting my fingers. Radio buttons worn. Must change the timing chain by around 80K. But really no mechanical problems over first 100K. Just change the oil, and keep (prem) gas in it. Two sets of Michelin MV4's lasted about 50K each. Developed an oil leak around 100K, valve seals replaced.

Definatley the car's overall appearance, and engine reliability. Also the power was surprising, which was an added bonus.

Weakness:

repair costs are high, and brakes are subpar... paint job is also questionable.

The car is very rare which is great. I'm sick of all those maximas and camrys i see everyday. I get alot of compliments on this car, and for the price u can't beat it! Looks like a 20,000$ car!
