Strength:

Fun look and drive , very reliable, gas mileage, excellent value for the money

Weakness:

Holy S@#T-- BRAKES. just buy extra brake pads for the next change you''ll need ''em car lock on driver''s side, trunk hydrolics

really strong car, good gas mileage. really fun to drive, always starts. I''ve had very few problems over all I haven''t had to replace anything (except brakes) in around 60K miles The best car I''ve ever owned never had to buy another

Strength:

Low price Amazing performance with only a little money into it. Great engine, interior. Decent low end power w/ tons up top.

Weakness:

Overly hard suspension without the handeling you''d expect from it being so hard. (put Eibach Pro-kits w/ Tokico adjustables on... much better handeling and slightly softer on softest setting, i think my factory shocks were blown) Paint could be better. Turning radious is disapointing compared to 91 Passat.

Great car, I love it! Had the car for just under 3 months now. No major unexpected problems whatsoever. Still runs great, original engine with 133,000 miles, turbo still strong w/ 65,000. Best bang for your buck. With $100-150 its as fast as an auto 5.0 Mustang and handles a LOT better.

Strength:

It''s different..you dont see many 93''s cruisin the strip.

Weakness:

Already had to replace the factory speakers, CV joint, tires, wipers(front and back), lamps+bulbs, lower ball joint(both sides) tie rod ends (inner and outer)and now I have to buy a new tranny...

I love my car..dont get me wrong..but i''ve had so many problems just here recently. Mainly tranny probs. But I can blame most of them on neglect on the part of the original owner. The jerk actually changed his breaks without turning his rotors!! I ruined the old rotors taking them off so I bought some shiny new ones. Also, my CV joint on both sides were wore. But again this is neglect on the part of the original driver. All and all I have to say this is a great car. It comes with a 1.8 DOHC engine..which is odd..because the 1.8 is listed as a SOHC engine in most online documentation. No turbo or supercharger or anything like that. It has enough ''getup'' for me though. With over 150000 on the speedometer you wouldnt think the engine would still run and sound as great as it does. I had planned on buyin a different car ..mabye a cavalier or s10..but I''ve already spent so much on repairs for this vehicle that I really cant afford to sell it. Body kits are hard to come buy..but not impossible to find. All and all..i''d have to say this was a worthwhile buy.

Strength:

-Good looks(very good looking now w/ my mods done) -Fast and Furious -Real Good Stock Cd/Sterio System -Good gas mileage -Big time Chick magnet -Reliable(plus extended warrenty) -Big Head Turner -Pick up girls almost Anytime (from my point of view, since i have)

Weakness:

-Front End is low, Srapes on parking curbs -Sometimes in the morning, it squeeks in cold weather, but it stops when it warms up -People wanting to race me constantly... thats not a everyday thing to do

Well this is my 2nd Review on my 1999 Eclipse(notice how i dont say if i have a RS,GS,GSX,or GS-T?...its because i like people sometimes to find out the hard way,if you know what i mean) The Last time i wrote about my Eclipse was back in October 2001. My car is still running very good, while keeping up with the maintenance, oil changes, tuneups, etc. I can also say at the very beginning of 2002, ive started to Soup my car up(Exterior wise)...it has great looking body graphics kit on it right now along with double banners and lettering kits on the front and back windows. ive got ALOT of complements on it. Not only that, but i even have dudes in the "muscle" cars staring at it very hard. The Major thing i love about it is girls. Theres never been 1 time ive pasted another car with a girl in it(driver or passenger) that didnt look at my car and dropped their jaw, and then look at me and send me a flirting smile(not too mention, alot of girls think im a Cutie, i hear that alot!)thats just a small reason why i like stayin single, because girls run up on me like crazy. Also, when i got my moon roof back, and got my Sterio Bumpin, It gets My Adrenaline goin like crazy. I also have a pretty nice Exsaust on it as well. Within 2 weeks...im going to put in a Short-Ram cold air intake system, along with some cam gears. Those 2 alone will boost my horses even more by as much as 25-45. THe only thing else i want to do with my exterior is put this 5 Star Chrome rims on it (Rage 5.0''''s)...ill get those for sure next month. Im now contemplating on whether or not i should get the Crystal Clear lensess on the back w/ red taillights that you actually see. If i do get them, i will keep the middle piece that is red and reads "E C L I P S E". Other then that, ill be done almost for sure with my Exterior

Strength:

Handles very well, excellent gas milage, fun to drive, looks nice.

Weakness:

Engine, transmission, radiator, starter.

Bought this car very well used from a highschool kid. The week after I bought it, the hood flew up and smashed the windshield going 65 mph on the interstate. I called towing from the shoulder a bit shaky, but happy to be alive.. The hood had no safety lock and was a death trap. Had a new hood put on, roof fixed and repainted. Cost me about $1,700. Since then the car has been in the shop at least twice every six months. The engine have had NO compression, absolutely zero pickup and constant oil leak since I bought it. It uses more oil than gas. Automatic transmission have been slipping for the past year or so. Right now this little baby is in the shop getting a "new" engine & transmission. Cost: about $4,500. This car has cost me about $7-8,000 plus the $1,900 I bought it for. Will I ever buy a used car again? NO! I hope the madness stops here and that this car will keep me rolling until I can afford getting the car of my dreams. Will it be a new Eclipse? NO! Despite all of this, I have to admit that the car handles well, looks cool (even for a 91) and gives very good gas milage.

"Walk softly and carry a big stick" Style and presence with performance if you need it.

Weakness:

Still looking....

As a youth, my father brought me to my first very expensive restaurant. Halfway through the meal he asked how I liked the food. I responded that it was, without question, the most excellent meal of my life (to that point). He replied, "You have arrived!" Recently, I purchased a 2002 Spyder with the works. Pearl white with a tan top and leather, I couldn''t wait to drive. I finished the burdensome paperwork a bit late in the afternoon on a cool Saturday. I had no commitments to speak of and a full tank of gas. Top down I headed east out of Atlanta on Hwy 78. As with any new car, you learn it as it teaches you. I''ve had few sweeter lessons. All common adjectives regarding performance cars apply. I can only add delight. With the 210 Watt, 7 speaker, 4 CD Infinity audio system sporting my classic Janis Joplin collection I rounded Athens and headed home. I pulled in around 10 at night. Parked very carefully and idled for a few minutes. Janis at a whisper, I closed my eyes and said, "I have arrived!"
