Strength:

1. It's quick with a lot of pick up. 2. Turning radius. 3. Looks good. 4. Stock rims (the star type) are nice. 5. Turns heads.

Weakness:

1. Gas mileage (i go through a full tank in 4 days. Only about 200 miles to a tank 2. Brakes aren't of good quality. 3. Molding around the windows needed to be replaced. 4. All eclipses' headlights around the 95 model will become fogged and i replaced both of them.

This was my favorite car and have always wanted one since the 2nd Generation Eclipse's came out. I made the mistake of buying it b4 checking into the brakes and the engine 1st. It had 83,000 miles and needed rotors turned and new pads. This will always be my favorite car, but i have decided not to check into the new eclipses after i sell this one because of the problems.

Strength:

really fun to race:)... cute... it has the little flippy lights! (the only working part of the car besides the cd player)

Weakness:

the motor.. the radiator... some messed up heads and dim intermediate lights...

I bought this car thinking it was a great switch from my non-air conditioned, broken, crappy honda crx; and also i needed a car to get me to work in the next city and back. Well needless to say i was overjoyed. it was the best looking car i had ever driven. super smooth ride and lots of power. I was incredibly happy until 3 hours after driving it off the lot it overheated and broke down. I figured okay i'll get the dealer to fix it. The dealer of course was super nice about the whole thing and sent me on my way in my beautiful car. Then it started overheating again... well of course i took it back but by then it had messed up the entire motor and the dealer wouldn't give me my car. So i called my mother at work and whined about it. Stupid crappy eclipse motors. :(

Strength:

Good acceleration High top end Good looking Lots of cargo room with back seat folded down Good gas milage Good headlights

Weakness:

Big blind spot Large turning radius No back seat to speak of Rear window foggs up easily Difficult to work on

This is a very good car for what it is. A good looking comuter car with better than average power. If you beat the hell out of these cars (RS/GS) you will pay for it. There is a BIG difference between the RS/GS model and the GS-T/GSX models. These car are built to race and beat the hell out of. One thing I can't stress enough is do not buy any model with an automatic. Its a dog and you will probably end up in the shop getting it repaired often. I have 140,000 miles on my car and I haven't had any major problems with it, but I treat it well. I don't think I would reccomend buying this car used with over 50K unless you know how it was treated by the previous owners.

Strength:

The car does look great - black with black top, and it is a comfortable car - great for long drives.

Weakness:

um... only 1900 miles and the alternator goes out, just hope this is a glitch; but what I am hearing from other eclipse/spyder owners, this will only be the beginning....

Was every excited when I purchased the 2003 Spyder - but that excitement has quickly turned to dissapointment and regret. Alternator has already gone out and it was in the shop for a week!! Not happy with the dealership either - talk about getting the run around. I now wish I had my dependable Honda Civic EX back.

Much more room than the previous years. Excellent pick-up.

I've had my car for 3 years now, and can't think of one problem I have had out of it at all. It runs great, excellent pick up speed. Not to mention the thing is just absolutely beautiful. And can take just about anyone on the road.

It's an awesome chick getter and there's allot of room to screw around with. It looks nice real nice and it's a fast car too.

Weakness:

the back bumper blows really hard. the speakers suck and the engine is SO loud! the seats are very uncomfortable! and my turn single broke when i clicked it, it shorted out.

Well this car was strong as a frog at first, but i hit a bump and the back bumper came completely off!! I can't believe it! After that it became the worst POS i've ever owned.

FUN CAR!! performance is incredible. Chicks love it!

Weakness:

Paint isn't the best of quality :( Alot of maintenance involved with this turbo car. Front wheel drive doesn't help when its wet!

I have a 96 gs-t with a 3inch turbo-back exhaust, intake, blowoff valve, boost controler and iridium spark plugs with new spark plug wires. Let me tell you, It flies... I haven't driven a car faster then this. I mean, i can take any mustang out there short of a brand new Saleen or SVT. It red lines at 7000, i get about 250 hp at the crank at 5k rpm and aobut 260 pounds of torque at only 2800 rpm. You be the judge!! i can run the quarter mile in 13.5 sec!

Strength:

Solid little car. No major work done to it - great gas mileage if you stay out of the turbo - actually COMFORTABLE on long rides. Turns and stops on a dime. I had an SUV before, and after one weekend with this car, I was hooked. Driving was fun again. This car scoots and HAS NOT BEEN BEAT when I did decide to mash the gas at a light. Power does drop off at higher rev's - if you think you need more power, go the aftermarket route (which I haven't) and drop about $3500 into a new intake, turbo, and exhaust and get somewhere arount 400 horses from this 4-banger... Good in the snow/slush we have in MD as well, which is a nice suprise. (Just clean all the snow from the rims or the tires will be very unbalanced at higher speeds.) I had the timing belt replaced at 65K (recommended for anything with a rubber timing belt) when I had the rotors replaced. Also hooked on some Toyo tires to replace the hard stock tires - wow - what a difference, especially in the rain. The car did have a recall item, some smog gadget in the engine area, no biggie. Nice car. Wish I had two.

Weakness:

1. Blind-spot from small rear window when backing out of parking spaces in busy lots - must creep out slowly because you can't see if there is anyone coming from the passenger side. 2. The car "likes" to drive at 80mph, which can sometimes be a problem. Cruise control helps keep it legal on long rides. Otherwise you find yourself back at 80 before you know it. 3. Storage space. Back seat is really a shelf for you to put your bags on. Trunk is big enough for 3 bags of groceries, if you line them up nicely in a row. 4. I have a soft-top, and can't put a roof rack on it (duh - but it's really a problem if you like to go biking, skiing, kyaking - you'll need a 2nd vehicle or a friend with one who likes to do what you like to do...really is a drag if you only have one car like I do at the moment.)

1998 Eclipse GST Spyder. Fun, fast, head-turner. Maybe attracts too much attention - seems to be an a$$hole magnet at the stop lights. (Wanna race me in my Honda Civic? Minivan? F150?)

Not a bad looking car. Sorry...that''s all I have to say on that.

Weakness:

Let''s just start a list... -During the first 2 months that I owned the car, the spark plugs had to be replaced 5 times due to the wrong spark plug wires being installed from the factory. -Month 6: Head was cracked and water pump needed to be replaced -Month 7: Short block was cracked -Month 9: Engine blew on the way on the way to the beach during Forth of July traffic. I am lucky to be here typing this due to that problem. Car was repaired by a different dealership and was actually running well for a while. - Somewhere around 1-2 years: Something odd started happening with the alloy wheels. Now, I am quite familiar with my chemistry due to my work...so I know that this was a chemical rection, but not sure what the catalyst might have been. The metal that was used for the emblem reacted with the wheels and damaged the wheels. -3-4 years: Steering recalls 1 through 3 were fixed on the car -5-6 years: Brakes had to be repaired...which is to be expected * The door handle SNAPPED OFF of the driver''s side door -Year 7: (Now here''s the good stuff) Within the past 3 months, my car has been out of the garage a TOTAL of 2 weeks. Here are the repairs... * New Head gasket * Ne

Overall...this car has been a complete and total nightmare!!! It is a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, automatic transmission, 2.0L engine, alloy wheels, etc. The car has no body integrity, the engine is terrible, something is not quite right with the alloy wheels,

Strength:

Nice looks , Picks up chicks, Good sound quality, gets in and out of traffic easy.

Weakness:

RS,GS low horsepower and tourqe, brakes, body parts coming apart, pathatic suspension. Car leaves the ground about 1.5 inches when I hit a little bump ten when it hits the ground it wants to sway back and forth. I am going to do mods on it .

I''ve had the car for 3 years and for the first few months my transmission died on me,then soon after that the brake rotors started to tear up gone through 2 pairs of rotors and already messing up again. The brake indication light is always on 24/7 never goes off.The front bumper comes apart from the fittings that are holding it in place. Power in a GS sucks rather have spent the money on a GS-T or GSX . But they will pick up some chicks.
