Sharp looking car! Fast for a 4-cylinder. Attention getter. Great car for the price. Women love the car!
Weakness:
I hate the stereo system. The sound quality lacks. Thats easily changeable though. I would definatly recommend it. Its alot of car for the money. Its a sports car for the middle/upper class. Not all of us can afford a Porsche or Ferrari. It gets attention where its due. Similar Products Used: non comparible, best car in its class |

Quick at $#it.
Weakness:
MAJOR torque steer. This car has every option available in 97. It is faster than anything I've ever driven and when the turbo kicks in its like downshifting. Everyone turns there head when you go by (and believe me, your the one doing the passing). Come to a light, drop the top, give a look at the Mustang sitting to your right, and when the light turns green, drop the pedal to the floor and watch that Mustang disappear in a cloud of smoke and mirrors! This car looks awesome! In my opinion, '95 is way better than '00. It is currently the second best looking sports car available in the market, right behind '97 Hyundai Tiburon. So far, it has proven to be a VERY fun car to drive. Absolutely stunning performance when it comes to handling and acceleration(provided that you have manual instead of automatic). Interior design is excellent as far as the instrument panel is concerned. Everything is within reach, and easy to locate while driving. Trunk space is very big.
Weakness:
The backseat is absolutely useless. You literally have maximum of 3 or 4 inches of leg room. The visibility in the back is pitiful. That can be dangerous when it comes to backing out of a parking space. Just be extra careful. I absolutely adore this vehicle. If you are looking for a fun, performance, stylish sports car to drive, you owe it to yourself to check this little baby out. One thing to bear in mind: this car is for MANUAL ONLY! Automatic transmission in this car is unacceptable. I hear automatic transmission is not very reliable in this car, anyway. Strength:
-Great handling
Weakness:
-Turbo hesitates for just a second out of the hole, but catches quickly. This was, by far the best car experience I've ever had. I was a little leary of buying a DSM (after all, Chrysler is involved!), but I'm so glad I did! My dealer was awesome (while I was waiting for them to clean up my car, they let us take a Stealth twin turbo out and spank it!). I'm continually impressed by the way my car performs. It's great knowing I can take on almost any car on the road and have a good chance of winning (and if I don't win, it at least won't be an embarrassing loss). The best part is the Spyder looks just as good as it performs. Top up or down, it's always a real head-turner. I would highly recommend this car to anyone who loves cars--I guarantee they won't be disappointed! Similar Products Used: No comparison--by far the best in its class. A few simple mods and even cars a few classes up had better WATCH OUT! |

Great, ageless styling, nice cockpit like interior. control panel easily accessable. Horsepower and torque curve very close. Nice wide stance, i like the way it can take turns but i have a dual front strut bar (recommended if you wanna take hard turns)
Weakness:
Car is very heavy when compared to other 4 cylinder imports. Lacks low end hp and torque as do most 4 cylinders. terrible rear view. This car definately needs mods for more performance. a good intake is recommended or turbo charge if in your budget. Overall its a good car. Reliable for non racers. If you are looking to race take care of the transmission. its not built for powershifting. For people who ended up with the non turbo for what ever reason your biggest set back in my opinion is air restriction and weight, Get a good cold Air intake and if possible try to turbo charge. for weight reduction, go with a carbon fiber hood, and loose the back seats (they are useless anyway). My goal is to get this car into the 14's naturally aspirated with out breaking my wallet. I think its possible and so should you. Similar Products Used: 75 280Z 91 Nissan Stanza 92 integra gsr. it felt to me that the gsr had a bit faster acceleration and overall the eclipse just feels heavier but i ran best 16.4 in the eclipse pretty close to what the integ could do. Although the integ didnt have an aftermarket header |

V6 engine finally (missed the fours, but the six adds more torque and feels smoother). Fantastic interior and exterior styling. Growing aftermarket support. Information hubs online (such as www.neweclipse.org). Sporttronic shift is also HORRIBLY fun. The car sounds WONDERFUL.
Weakness:
only 200hp (I was hoping to keep the 205 from year 2000, or at least a bump up). I would totally recommend this car for anyone looking into a convertible. I looked around at some other cars, the fast ones, the slow ones, the roadster ones, and overall I found this to be the perfect fit between a miata and a 325hp camaro. Fastest four cylinder out there for the price, hands down. Turbo Spools very quick for a stock turbo. Hesitates out of the hole but comes on strong as soon as you get the RPM around 4500. Very stable for a FWD. Brakes and stearing are both very tight. Factory leather is very nice. Looks that could kill. Tinted windows set off the the looks and are a must. In black with that Wing and awesome front end you could get a ticket while sitting still. Most horse power for the buck, no one else comes close. Upgrades could really make this car go fast, REAL FAST. Rear defroster works good and has lots of vents up front. Infinity sound system does come with a good Amp under the pasengers seat.
Weakness:
Infinity stereo SUCKS! The CD player was broke when I got it and I had to have the dealer replace it. The replacement skips, especially with CD-R's. I blew the door speakers right off the bat and had to replace them (the nice thing is that the door panels come off easy if you know to slide the door hadle trim off towards the front of the car, to find the screws behind it). The stock speakers are just paper, it's the worst speaker ever built by Infinity, they were just built to get the name in the car.The battery had to be replaced right after I got it, a common problem. Rear visability sucks, so does side vision (but who cares right). Needs to be kept in tune, keep good plugs and wires on it at all times. Low front end doesn't like Memphis parking lots. The back seat is a joke for any but the shortest of people. Crappy turning radius. It seems to be built kinda cheap to get it out the door for the price, but hey I do think that you get alot of bang for the buck. If you gotta look good and you have to go fast, this is the car. Find one in good shape, add a few performance upgrades and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. Similar Products Used: All pontiac Fiero's - the eclipse doesn't handle neerly as well but has twice the power. |

I love the styling, one of a kind car!! Handles great, drives as good as it did 5 years ago. No major problems and has 51K miles on it. Lots of options and conveniences. Rocking factory infinity system!
Weakness:
limited leg room (im 6'2") impossible for someone to sit in backseat. trouble finding compatable CD changer, cant part with factory system. breaks wear out fast. windows fog easily, have to crack a window in winter. This is a fun car to own and drive. I have no regrets buying it. Still catches the eyes of passers. Styling still up to date. Similar Products Used: Muastang LX , Camaro RS |

it looks great, i cant think of any other car on its class that looked that great.its style will never fade even after so many years already.good buy if you are in the market for a fast, great looking and affordable sports car or even a convertible.its fast, needing only a little bit of push from the pedal to leave the other cars in the freeway behind.i love the sound of car.
Weakness:
this is not the car if you are looking for a spacious room inside a car and good trunk space coz its so small.its hot on the eyes of the police so always drive in the speed limit or if not then just be very vigilant always.a speed demon, with the constant temptation to drive the car as fast as you want!i dont know if a driver or passenger will ever survive a fatal crash on the eclipse though but i think its safety is a bit questionable. i would recommend anyone who is in the market for cheap speed, hot looking car and reliability to buy an eclipse but i hate what mitsubishi did on the newer models from 1999,2000 and 2001 coz the restyled eclipse is just plain ugly compared to the old ones.i just hope they can restyle the future eclipse just like before but with enhancements of course.
