Strength:

Its good on gas, easy to drive, handles well and runs great not a single problem and I drive like a madman.

Weakness:

There is no room in the back seat, my 250 pound friend practicaly gets stuck back there.

I got mine for 750 dollars from a friend. I would definetely recomend it it has been fun to drive and reliable. If your a person that needs room this wouldnt be your car. he 92 horse motor which I've modified and puts probably around 140 now is plenty fast enough to get you around. Just for the record I've read many of the other summaries and chryslers are the best I,ve had many in the family and hardly any problems with any of them.

Strength:

nothing, this car blows ass, i had a 1990 plymouth laser before this POS with the 5 speed in it and it was quick as hell. but then i wrecked it and bought a 91 talon with 2 burnt valves for 1000 dollars, and since i got it, it has done nothing but suck ass. here are a few of the defects, air Idle screw blew off and put a whole through of hood, exhaust springs leak after leak, oil constantly leaking, intercooler screw broke and intercooler slid back and rubs tire now, front air dam cracked from cold weather.

Weakness:

Every thing, the car shouldn't be concidered a car but and expensive shopping cart.

i paid 1000 dollars for my car and dropped another 1000 in it to fix the heads and valves to get it running, and when i total bills 4 it i come up with about 4000 dollars in repairs cause i was so hyped up if i got it running good it might be some what fast, big mistake, i will be lucky to get 2000 out of it so i am out 4000 dollars stupid pos car.

Strength:

Its attractive and sporty looking.

Weakness:

BUYER BEWARE!!! Its very cute, but its a piece of crap. At only 11K, it had broken down on me 3 times! All minor electrical/engine problems under warranty but a HUGE inconvience. The last time it broke down it was towed to 2 different dealerships who "didnt have the right instrument to diagnose the problem." I had to drive an hour to the dealer who did to pick up my car. That was the last straw, that car had ticked me off for the last time. On the way home from picking it up I stopped by the Honda Dealership and traded it in for a 2001 Accord Coupe. I couldnt be happier. Its faster, better made, etc, etc. The only thing I have to do with my new car is drive it and put gas in it. For the first two years the dealer is even changing the oil/fluids for free. Awesome. The cost between the two was comparable but the value doesnt come close.

Model Reviewed: /gs-t

Strength:

The car is fast and the turbo kicks in almost instantaniously when you floor the throttle.I also love its looks.personally better than an honda prelude also quicker with the 210hp and the 2890lb body lighter than the honda prelude as well.honda prelude only has 190hp with a 2980lb body.I've just found out that the gst is better than the gsx thank god since i have a gst.why?because it is lighter weight than the awd gsx with the same amount of power giving sharper responses to curves and better fuel economy than the gsx, also less money.of coarse numbers are not everything looks have a great deal to do with it also the spending price for a probe or eclipse is way better bang for your buck than say a prelude!

Weakness:

I don't like that it doesn't have a standard cd package.bummer huh!

i paid just 13,000 for this lovely machine. I would definately recommend it to some one who like turning there wheels at every stop light and being able to take on all coupe and hatchback competitors who step in your way.and if you want to go one step up that is a big step get a pontiac firebird ooohhhhhh!!!!

Similar Products Used:

honda prelude with 190hp, low to the ground, great handling, and uglier to 0-60mph in 6.8. the ford probe with 164hp v6 uuuuuu i'm scared 0-60 in 7.5 oh my God.toyota celica gt-s 0-60mph in 7.3, and acura integra 0-60mph in 7.1.all of these not as good as the eclipse that goes from 0-60mph in 6.5 that is of coarse the gs-t.if i didn't get this car i would have gotten a ford probe or as much as don't like to admit it a honda prelude.

Strength:

fast! turbo, boost like a v8 engine(better than the mustang gt). good looking car. The driver(it's me). can get up high to 140mph without blowing up the engine. The car itself!!
nice sound system
easy to modify
can always get the girls attention

Weakness:

honda and toyotas engine quality are better.

for 18 grand back almost two yrs ago was not bad at all(well yeah, if you have a connection. :) ) i recommend it to those who know how to take care of a sensitive machine( don't worry this car is still way better than american car), because chrysler have a part of it, problem may occur, so for those who want this beauty, 90-99 model is perfect.

Model Reviewed: Eclipse Spyder GS

Strength:

-Very sporty looking
-Fast acceleration
-Electronic top (ease of use)

Weakness:

None so far. Everything is working AOK. The rear window is hard to see out of but with the top down, who cares!

Paid $14,700 including dealer fees, etc....with 46,000 miles. Brand new tires. The rear window defogger didn't work due to the lines being stripped from tinting that pealed off the lines. Dealer put on a brand new top.

I've read some horror stories about this car but I have not had any problems at all. People are going to get lemons in any make or model and those are the people you hear from in these type of forums. I don't belive they represent the majority of Eclipse owners who are very happy with the performance and looks of this vehicle.

PS, I like the 96-99 body style better than the new 2000 model

Strength:

This car is very fast and easily chews up everything in its class. The name eclipse is perfect ,because it eclipses everything on the road.

Weakness:

i don't like the fact that it is not rated as one of the best cars ever!!

This car is definitely a sport car(91-99).This car is a poor mans porshe. It's quick, nibble, and beautiful to look at.When valet parks my car and i'm looking at it ride away i say to myself,"Self, that's one nice looking piece of machinery right there".This car is for anyone who appreciate life, and want to WAKE UP every morning look out the window and see the sun, the flowers, and an eclipse that would happen everyday instead of every few years.

I drove in a celica and a prelude and the cockpit is horrible compared to the eclipse.

Strength:

AWESOME! I love it!
Style - Attention getter! I have black with Spoiler and Chrome rims! Sweet looking ride!
Performance - Very fast, and I love the rumble the engine gives out!
Handling - Handles pretty good for a coupe.
Interior - Very cool, different, ergonomic. I love my 45 minute commute to work. i wish it was longer. The stereo is pretty decent for a stock system. I love the 4-disc changer.
I have had nothing but compliments on the car, my parents even love it and are asking me to drive it all the time.

Weakness:

Turning radius is not nothing special, but not a big deal to me!

Overall.. I love it! Great car! I got mine in Southern CA for 23,000 which was for a GT/Spoiler/Premium Package/Mud Guards/Wheels Locks. I was told I got an amazing deal! (Not including Taxes)

If you are in the market for a Sporty Touring Coupe for everyday driving.. the Eclipse
is a good way to go!

Well i like just about every thing about this car from the body stlying to the performance. this car is just plain fast and it corners extermly well. back seat is rather small, but who cares i didnt buy this car to carry four people just me any my girl or one of my envious friends. civic, integras, vw's, camaros, and even mustangs are only viewed through my rear view mirror. currently ive had this car for about three years and still no problems yet.

Weakness:

the only problem i had with this car was the factory sterio, it sucks ass, no problem if you have some money to spend. the other problem i have is the handling in the rain, but its probably my fault because ive never bought any camber kits for the front or rear(soon to be corrected)

i ended up paying only 10,000 for it with 40,000 on it thanks to my friend at adams jeep. so far it has 80,000 on itand ive only had it for about three years, and still runs like a champ. for all the critics out their, their is nothing wrong with the engine its probably your fault that you dont take care of your cars, if your going to drive it like a sports car be prepared to take care of it, dont drive it like some people do gas and go, or for another matter wait for the service lights to go on. but in all i would highly recomend this car to anyone looking for a car to out run all those hondas or integras that you see so much of these days, be different! with few bolt ons youll have a pocket rocket that will run with the best of them. oh and one more thing hondas are slow even the SI which my car ran circles around the last time i was at the track, and for that matter even the feared gsr, what a joke you guys, buy a real car one that will make you stand out in the crowd of hondas and acuras. peace out!

Strength:

Great styling
Smooth, powerful V6
Slick, smooth 5 speed tranny
Tons of comfort features
Nice sound system
This car is a babe magnet! (Cop magnet too!)
Very smooth ride for a sports car

Weakness:

Smooth ride has it downside, handles a little loosely for a sports car.
Engine is so smooth it makes it almost seem slow.

$24K for a loaded GT 5 speed. Had to wait to get one and had to pay more than I wanted to, but it was worth it.
Bigger, better looking and more comfortable than a Celica and the V6 can actually accelerate without having to downshift 2 gears.
