Eclipse Spyder
Strength:
Best car I have ever owned. The body style looks great, and attracts alot of attention (sometimes too much). Looks and feels great with the top up or down. The car is fast and rides on air. I have never had a smoother ride. Sound system is awesome, never had better come from the factory. First time with a manual transmission, and I will never go back.
Weakness:
Visibility seems to be an issue. And the fact that I have been pulled over twice (in one night!) - Basically so they could get a closer look. Dont buy this car without buying a detector. Good luck finding one. I paid 24k, it came with leather interior, etc. Great car. If you have the $$ I would recommend it to anyone. Similar Products Used: I had a probe, and there is no comparison. |

Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS
Strength:
Very cool looking car, with top up or down. Interior is the best, automatic power top, independent suspension. Glass rear window with defost..
Weakness:
rear window is too small This car just catches my eyes, stunning. Since, I sold my used car. I am telling myself i have to get this one. The 1999 eclipse spyder gs have the mean, low and sleek looks compare to the boring look they have in y2k model. With one touch of a button in 10 sec, viola!! the car transform to a convertible that look so good everybody just stare at you on the road. The ride of the car is stable and firm, accerlation is moderate, with 141 hp, 2.4 liter engine. Interior look so darn good, compare to other car, the interior look extremely sporty, that is how i like it. Back space is virtually none, i don't care. Stereo comes with stock amplifier seems strong and nice. Good gas mileage, Similar Products Used: i can't think of any front wheel drive, power open top convertible with a bargin price |

Talon TSi AWD
Strength:
Fast. Good looks. Nice interior. Easy to maintain if you drive it responsibly. With a couple hundred dollars, I was able to come up with 240 HP and a 6 second 0-60
Weakness:
Dealer charges too much for repair. Go to a small one of a kind for best pricing. Paid $11,000 w/ 50,000 miles. Good deal-great car. total spent so far $2000 (tinted windows, tires, ABS repair,modifications,etc...) Similar Products Used: None. My friends have Honda Prelude, Mustang 5.0, Honda CRX w/ VTEC-smoke... I can beat all of them. Ha Ha Ha |

I love the car great looks and it looks dams good when its lowerd great accelration, very fast. There a lot of aftermarket parts that will make the car really haul some ass, handles great. I have about 22,000 miles haven't had any real huge problems just the routine check up. I'm loving the ca.
Weakness:
Only problem I have with this car when I acclerate raelly hard and put the car into neutral sometimes it will shut off I got the car for 20,000 brand spaken new. Similar Products Used: honda preulude 97 mustang gt 5.o mustang |

Talon Tsi AWD (Mitsu GSX)
Strength:
Very impressive performance even when stock. Bolt ons add tremendous power. This car is very highly modified and has performance figures that are stunning. For the price, even when modified, I don't know of anything that is really more fun or economical. It still gets 28 mpg if I keep my foot out of it, and parts are cheap and easy to get if you stay away from the dealers. Easy to work on and there is a huge aftermarket support and parts group. The turbo keeps performance where it needs to be even when at higher altitudes where normally aspirated cars suffer.
Weakness:
The car must be maintained or you will be extremely dissatisfied. It cannot be treated like your old beater truck or it will rebel with costly problems. However, the Mitsubishi engine block is very stiff and it is very common to see properly maintained Mitsu's and Talons running 250,000 miles. (It is also common to see owners who manage to trash their cars after 15,000), be warned. I paid 11,900 with nearly 8,000 of engine mods already on it. I have subsequently added more modifications. When the smoke clears the car was purchased new for 28,000 and there has been nearly 14,000 worth of mods. It sounds like a lot, but the car has been driven at the track and used as a daily driver. It has not had an easy life, but it has been well maintained pursuant to the manual. Similar Products Used: 97 Mustang Cobra Convertible, 94 Mustang GT Convertible, 92 Mustang 5.0 LX Convertible, 91 Honda CRX Si, 93 Ford SHO, 92 Eagle Talon Tsi 93 Camaro Z-28, 97 Pontiac Firebird Convertible. I've driven all of these and owned all but the GMs, and the Cobra. The Talon Tsi AWD is a better performer than them all in braking, lateral acceleration, top speed, and economy (except the CRX). It is not as comfortable as the Honda or the Fords. |

Eagle Talon TSi AWD
Strength:
VERY QUICK... but even better with a few bolt ons=) Challenged some probes and integras, and DOMINATED! They were horrible drivers, all talk. Plus you can pick up some girls in this car!
Weakness:
Valves tick when cold, brakes rust slightly after being washed (cleans itself after a couple of seconds) I got it brand new, no major problems... just your usual pot holes a curbs that cause some damage. I paid $25,000 for it, but with all the options and the first '97 AWD in the state it wasn't too bad a buy. It would be great to find one with 20k or so miles, that would be a STEAL! Similar Products Used: '90 Talon TSi AWD, Honda S2000... Obviously about the same as the '90 talon, my dads S2000 is better in someways... but hey, what can i say?! |

Strength:
I've had my bright-white 98 Talon for 2 years now. It runs like a dream, even at stock it has ability to smoke off those vtec preludes. It looks beautiful after some basic modifications. My first mod was a set of H&R springs which is pretty much all you need if you wanna be "all looks, no go"
Weakness:
Without springs, the Talon really looks like it's flying. I paid 29,000CDN for my 98. It normally goes for 35,000CDN. I bought both my DSM's new. If I had to do it all over again, I'd buy in a heartbeat. But, in the future, a Honda is definately my first choice for reliability. Similar Products Used: My old DSM 96 Talon ESI, it was a piece of crap. More problems than ever. Probably cause it had a chrysler engine inside. |

Strength:
Handles really well and is more fuel efficient than you might think. I like it's overall design better than the 2000, although the more I look at the 2000's the better I like them.
Weakness:
Several minor problems but nothing major, to include: I really like this car alot. Of course, when you buy a car used, any previous owners driving habits will have something to do with the way it drives. There was one previous owner before me and I believe they took good care of the car. Overall, I have been very happy, with the exception of having to replace the coil pack. The rattling in the front dash is really starting to irritate me. If anyone else has experinced this dash noise and had it fixed, I would love to hear from them. My e-mail is ripper@flex.net Similar Products Used: Nothing really - this is my first sports car. |
