Strength:
Quick, nice handling, but this comes with any sports car.
Weakness:
Many problems. The cost to get this car serviced or repaired is unbelievable. Living in CA, we need to smog the car. The car didn't pass. In fact, it will take over $600 to get the car to pass. Parts for Mitsubishi are among the most expensive. Just for the scheduled service, parts will cost over $300. I will probably never buy a Mitsubishi again, nor a Chrysler Sebring Convertible, since it's made by Mitsubishi. |

Strength:
Nice handling, good sound system, quick, looks good.
Weakness:
Too many mechanical problems. Even with routine preventive maintanance, I always have problems with this car. It's in for major repairs about every 6-8 months. It's fun to drive, when it's not in the shop. The leather seats cracked when the car was fairly new. The re-sale value isn't very high. |

Strength:
Easily modified. All wheel drive smokes most cars on the streets. Can be made very very fast but still kept daily driven. Good sleeper, can look stock and run 9's. Stylish, a lot of aftermarket support. All Wheel Drive, Turbo. Girls like it!!!
Weakness:
The driveline can start to break beacause of hard launches and racing...but what do you expect! MUST..be taken good care of and maintained very well. The non turbo BASE models are garbage, they have the POS Chrysler motors-DON'T get the Rs or Gs models!!!! Over all I have loved the car. Handles great cause of the AWD. Very fast. I was pissed when the tranny broke after three years, and have also been through many clutches but thats what you get with a highly modified car. If you only performe mild modifications you can have a very nice, fast, good handling car thats also very reliable. It's a great feeling to beat Stangs, Camaros, Supra's, etc... with a little four banger. But I need to stress that the car needs a lot of TLC. Not sold anymore so the last ones will start being very sought after. Again, stay away from the base models. |

Beautiful looking car, fast, excellent sound system.
Weakness:
Lack of reputable Mitsubishi dealer, just my buying experience will lead me not to ever buy Mitsubishi again. CD Player died but replaced under warranty. Car makes funny noises sometimes after driving but dealer can't locate problem. 32k miles so far. Beautiful looking car, I think it looks better than 2000 model. Quick but not very reliable. |

Strength:
The 99' Eclipse has real good pick-up (Wish I would've got the GST though). This Car is very stylish. It really handles great and all the interior controls are right at your finger tips. I like the color I chose which is black with tan leather interior. I also must say that the sound system is really great. I got the Infinity Premium sound system w/the tape deck CD Changer.
Weakness:
The eclipse has no back leg room. Also, Maybe it's just me but I think the Interior is real noisy while driving. It almost sounds like the inside of an airplane. Some people who own an Eclipse will say they like that sound. But all and all the Eclipse still gives you a comfortable ride I would recommend the Eclipse to all sports car fans. This car is a Similar Products Used: 94' Honda Accord EX - No comparison - two totally different cars. I personally like my Accord which is an excellent car. But the Eclipse is more fun to Drive; |

Full time all wheel drive is excellent in the rain and snow. The tires don't spin, you just do forward. Turbo is a must for the car for the moments of passing cars.
Weakness:
Gas mileage. The premium gas gets expensive after a while. Plan on making regular trips to the gas station. I would recommend this car for a sporty look. Don't expect to fit more that 2 people comfortably in this car. It absolutely has no room in the back seat but can be used for putting your bag or papers there. There isn't much trunk room either. Strength:
Decent sound system for a stock system. Shows some quickness at times. Looks very sporty and much better than the new 2000 model. Turbo is a must in this car.
Weakness:
I have about 75,000 on my car now. You must take good car of this car or it will not take care of you. It requires a lot of attention and preventive maintenance. I didn't really have much trouble with this car until about now. Expensive on gas. Premium only and about 300 miles with a full tank of gas (20-22/mpg). If you're looking for looks and speed, this car is for you. If you don't mind spending for preventive and necessary maintenance, then buy this car. If you like amking a lot of trips to the gas station- buy this car. It drives well and will maintain its modern look for years to come. Similar Products Used: Unsure. I had a 1994 Chevy Cavalier V-6, but I beat the hell out of that car and it ran well for a long time. |

Strength:
Very exotic looking, cool interior, lot's of fun to drive, the premium package comes with an awesome sound system with in-dash 4 CD changer, usable back seats, and lot's of trunk space for this kind of car.
Weakness:
Bad turning radius (have to plan your u-turns), he paint is soft and easily scratched. I feel that if anyone is in the market for a sporty coupe then the 3rd generation Eclipse GT is the way to go. This car gives you great looks, good handling and good performance all for under $25,000. How can you go wrong with that? The Eclipse has the competion beat. Similar Products Used: I test drove a Mazda Miata before the Eclipse and I loved the Eclipse GT because it had so much more torque and the ride was very smooth, unlike the Miata which bounced around all over the place. |

Strength:
It's new V6 engine makes a great addition to the eclipse name. It's sleek new design gives the car a great facelift to set it apart from previous eclipses.
Weakness:
I wish they offered a Turbo or Supercharger for the V6. I would definately recommend this car to the first time buyer. It's under 19000 for the low end, and for the sports enthusist, you can get the V6 model under 22000. If you love convertables they have a spyder version in a V6 and 4 cyclinder versions. Leather seating, 17" rims, 7 spkr infinity sound system, side air bags, all wheel ABS brakes, dual air bags and a powered sun roof, and driver seat, all accompany the premium package. A 2k Eclipse GT, premium is the first car i've ever owned, and i'm glad i made a good decsion about buying such a great piece of work. Similar Products Used: None |
