Strength:

Great handling.. can do better with sport suspension... can out corner most of the FWD and stay close to Integra Type R or some exotic sport car. Its a great fun car to drive.

Weakness:

Slow KA24DE motor.. 155hp is not enough. literally no back seat.

Great FR car. The role model of being a great handling and good looking sport coupe. smooth gear box, great handling, many aftermarket performance parts. And the US version S14 comes with and torque monster KA24DE.. low end torque is amazing; but still I rather want a SR20DET which what my friends have at Hong Kong. Come check this out, my site. http://www.angelfire.com/ga3/philiplee/

Strength:

Great Torque, Superb Handling with no body roll. Limited slip differential. Smooth clutch and gearbox.

Weakness:

A bit under powered at 155hp. Cramped interior for someone over 6''. But that''s not my problem.

I love this car! Handling is awesome, everything is next to you at your disposal. Good thing I''m only 5''9''''. Visibility is great inside, with a flick of your neck you see all. Can''t beat a rear wheel drive, you don''t lose as much out of your drivetrain as in a FWD. I love the way that hondas don''t know what they''re talking about. Some SI owner told me he could cream my ass since he had a Honda and it was 1500lbs lighter than my car. I simply noded and creamed his ass.

Good Interior!
Good gas mileage!
Drifter!!!

backseat.
shakey.

This car is incredible. If you're looking for an inexpensive sports car, then you should buy the 240sx. Doesn't matter what year. This car looks nice and performs like a real sports car. Its small with no cupholder but HEY its a sports car. It has an incredible sound when running the car. And this car does not compare to a Honda Civic, Eclipse, and an Acura. I just love it when one of those cars try to race me knowing that my car goes faster. And even with there expensive modification, it has no chance to be infront of me. The interior looks new and has a clean look (Back seat is really small but i really don't care bcuz i'm the driver!) If i modify this car, i know that the car can take out almost ne car.

Looks awesome

Very comfortable
Excellent aftermarket
Very smooth
Quiet
Did I mention looks great?

Weakness:

Down on power. Wish they were available with the 220 H.P. SR20DET motor as an option like in Japan.

At 37k miles, the alternator went out, figured it was because the dealer ship had the engine compartment pressure wash and lots of water got into it, as the aluminum was corroded. Car love to cruise at about 90-95 m.p.h, and will pull well over 100, and you feel like you are doing 70. Exceptionally stable, and quiet, even with the windows open.

Strength:

Nice exterior styling
Decent 4-cyl. power
Zippy corner-carver (this car handled very well)
Smooth shifting manual transmission

Weakness:

Bad gas mileage (18Mpg at best)
Front seats were not designed for tall people
Frame and body panels exhibited rust before hitting 80,000 Miles
Factory paint was chipping and blistered when purchased
Mechanical Unreliability
The backseat is almost microscopic
Car sounds like an angry blender at high speeds (YUCK!)

This car has decent styling and power but seriously lacks in the reliability department. This car has had the following problems in the year I've had it:

Fuel Injectors died
Blown Head Gaskets (This happened at 60,000 miles and again at 87,000 miles)
Clutch Fried
A/C Compressor fried followed by the A/C evaporator
Driver's Window motor stopped working
U-joints wore out
Door Locks,Gauge and courtesy lamps seemed to have a mind of there own
Radiator replaced
Timing Chain and tensioner replaced

This car was my first import and it was also my last. Don't buy this car unless you love to work on imports.

Model Reviewed: Nissan 240 SX (coupe)

Strength:

RWD. Plenty of power for me. Good looks. Not many coupes around. I liked the coupes much more than the hatchbacks. Strong frame. This was very important to me. I bought this car on January 19, 2001 and and on Valentine's Day of 2001 (Febuary 14) I was hit head on by a drunk driver. Messed up the car pretty good, well totaled to say the least, but I came out very well. Not a broken bone. Many people have told me after then saw pictures that I should have been dead, or at least have several broken bones at the very least. If I had been in my old junker, more than likely I would not be here. I'm looking into getting another one, maybe a '92, or even moving up to the 300 ZX. Very clean car. No problems except for the throw out bearing may have needed replacing. Nice interior. Well worth the money.

Weakness:

Cup holder, but it's a sports car. What do you expect. Small back seat, but who needs a back seat when all your going to have in there is a girl...oh wait. I guess a back seat would be nice then. Would be expensive to fix. (Foreign car.)

Nice car. Got many compliments from friends and co-workers. Was 17 at the time so the RWD drive was awesome. Kinda sucked in the Iowa winter storms though. But was also a blast at the parking lot behind the school. Coupe was very sporty. Anyone looking to have fun in a realtively inexpensive, but reliable car, and any teenage guy out there should get one of these. Preferably the coupe in my opinion.

Strength:

Nice looking car. looks pretty sporty. its got pretty good power. handles perfectly on turns and it runs nice.

Weakness:

its pretty slow!!! if they made these cars fast tons of ppl would buy these little beauties!! 155HP is ok, but something like AT LEAST a 170HP would be close to perfect!
if it came with a nicer spoiler, the car would look heavenly!!

I would recommend this car for most teenagers.
a car too fast is probably not the safe anywayz for most of us teens.
good power is whats important and this car has pretty good power.

Strength:

Torque is unbelievable for a Jap job.
Beautiful interior and overall shape is classic nissan style!
Engine and reliability is incredible! Driven both Toyota's and Honda's Nissan compares just as well if not better.

Weakness:

You can never take on a Stang, despite the Hot looks. The Ka24DE can only do so much, meaning it is lacking in the top end. If only the Silvia S15 2000 is available here.

I paid a hefty 12 000 dollaros for mine 4 years ago. The insurance will not bite you down like an Si or Teg. However these cars are way under value cause they do depreciate quickly. The reliability is very good cause of the different clientele. In the end I DO recommend it! Don't be surprise if Nissan scratches the Z and brings the Silvia(240sx) over cause it's roots are well respected with Nissan enthusiasts.

Preludes, integras, and celicas. Not as smooth as a Toyota but alot more torque than a Honda will EVER have! If you don't want to be a lemming get a Nissan.

Strength:

Turning capability, accelaratin is great for a 2.4 4 cylinder engine. the shifting is great. You can red line the RPMs all you want and it just keeps going.

Weakness:

The sunroof rattles but that is a easy fix. Braking could be better. The power windows fall down after awhile and will cost around 200 dollars or more.

I bought the car at around 4000 dollars. It was used and had a little over 90 thousand miles. It ran great then, and other then a few minor problems it is still running great at over 100,699. I would recomend it to a college bound student who plans on going places alot. it is a very realiable car to have. I would not recommend this car to an elder person, because it sits to low to the ground and may cause injury. But i would strongly recommend a teenager to get this car.
