it's a nissan. it looks nothing like anything that came out in 89. when i bought it it had +12k miles but you can't even tell. the car runs, looks and was priced great. and best of all, i've only seen two other cars like it, unlike the hondas that are everywhere.
Weakness:
aftermarket parts are hard to find. i recomend this car to anyone who wants a reliable inexpensive, stylish, car. it's great. Similar Products Used: None |

I love the style of this car, it's an unusual sporty car, unlike a Mustang, where you see it everywhere. This car has great style on the inside-the seats, dash, and backseats. The engine isn't so loud that it is obnoxious, but it's a great car. The sunroof is awesome too.
Weakness:
It has no cupholders! That is annoying, but you get over it. The backseats are small, but it isn't a family car, and it's not a car you should be carrying a bunch of people in. The drivers window gets loose now and then, but it can be fixed. It is a repeated problem however. The stereo system is good, but the speakers are going, so they crackle and pop also. Difficult to drive in snow and rain. I absolutly love this car! I think that this product is worth the money I spent, and I would totally buy this car again. There are slight problems that are irritating, but they can be fixed with slight mechanical adjustments. This car isn't meant to be a family vehicle, definatly a car for a single person or a couple. The car can be a tricky drive in bad weather, purchased for expirenced drivers, not 16 year olds. This is a good car, that is very unusual (at least in KC) that is fun to drive. Awesome clutch (surprised nobody else mentioned this.. maybe it's improved for '98?)
Weakness:
Can't really say too much bad about this car.. maybe a more hollow exhaust system would be nice. :) I always loved Nissan sports cars, but recently I was quite surprised. I was handed the keys to this car along with a fun little cruise to go along with it and gladly jumped on the opportunity. I must say I was extremely impressed by this car and would definately buy one. I pushed the car fairly hard through a rough, curvy, up & down type of country road and totally loved the experience. I must say for a 4 cyl, it's quite amazing... and the suspension rocks, absorbing the bumps terrifically with it's tight suspension. I noticed that it doesn't like to run under 2,000 rpm's but anything above that and all the way up to the redline, it flies. :) The driving position is wonderful.. simple and easy to drive and I just loved the view from the drivers seat. In the rearview mirror sits the rear spoiler and with a slight turn of the head you can see the passenger side mirror. The clutch is incredibly soft and the brakes are incredible. One thing I found about this car is that I couldn't stop Similar Products Used: Other Nissan Z cars |

I love my 240, it has great power in the turns and a lot more in the long runs , I bought it with 101000 miles on it and I'm not having any problems with it yet ( KNOCK ON WOOD ) this is my first Nissan and I love it so far it's pearl white and it has the gray int, I see that a lot of people aren't happy with it not havin cup holders but hey ( IT IS A SOPRTS CAR ) well here are some of the thing's that I have done to it for now 1st was the rims the stock ones had a lot of rool on them in the turns so that went I put 16" american racing snipers on it with nitto NT450's low pro tires that helped a lot in the turns and I have more tourq in the start I lost some top end but I'll get that back with the cold air intake
Weakness:
I'm 6'9" it's a little samll for me but when I seen it on the lot I new that it was for me , the back seat is small to I have to push my seat to the back seat in order to get in ha ha ha, the car dosen't seem to stay the right temp, to hot or to cold, it has an auto so it's not the fastest thing on the road but I have drivin other autos and this is the best yet I think that the Nissan 240SX is a great car for the young , it has a lot of power and it will last a long time, for the price you cant beat it the style and the looks that you get on the beach girls love it but don't plan on doin anything in the back Similar Products Used: with the stock 155 HP it has a lot of the hondas beat! I can chew up preludes no problem and the eclipes GST is a good run for the money once the turbo kicks in the 240 has not a chance |

This car is pretty quick for a four cylinder, but I guess the 2.6L engine has something to do with that. I love the style of the car and the way it looks expensive, but obviously, with the price I paid, it wasn't. The handling is incredible, and make you feel very secure. I love the way the dashboard looks and the way the controls are laid out, making it very easy to access everything I need. With 110,000 miles on the car, it still is very quick, and I have only had to replace the clutch.
Weakness:
There are a lot of rattles in the car that I can't seem to pinpoint. It gets annoying at high speeds on the freeway. When night falls, for whatever reason, there are not enough lights on the dash to be able to control the temperature, and thus I have to turn on the dome light to see what I am doing. Speaking of the temperature, the temperature adjust is worthless, since it is either too cold or to hot in the car. It never is perfect. The brakes are making a lot of noise now, even though I had them replaced with brakes from Midas. Some of the plastic in the car is very cheap, and seems to break easily. Obviously very small back seat, but what do you expect from a small sports coupe. I love my car. Even though I am looking to trade it in for a newer more luxury car, that is only because I have to start commuting to work, and the 240SX is not the most comfortable cars for long rides. I also have to carry my friends around, so a four door sedan may be more suited for what I need. For the price I paid, and for the ability to upgrade this car, you can't beat that deal. Its a great car for the price range and a great first car for someone who wants the good looking car and speed, but can't afford anything more expensive. I also get a lot off looks at this car, and surprise expressions when I tell people how much I paid for the car. You do definitely need to get a better system in the car, since the stock system sucks. The car does 0-60 in probably about 7-8 secs, which is alright for a heavy 4cyl. I've beaten the cheap V6 stangs on the highway, but then again, who can't beat a V6 Mustang? I've taken and beaten my friends tricked out Integra, but I think I got lucky on that one. All in all, it is not the fastest car, nor the most comfortable car, but it is a very nice looking car, and the is reliable as hell. Its a Nissan, what else do I have to say? Similar Products Used: I drove a 97 VW Jetta, which was fast, but doesn't everyone own a Jetta? An Eclipse RS, please that POS was the slowest sports car I ever drove. I also had a 92 Toyota Celica, which I loved, but was too old for getting me where I wanted to go. Out of the four, the Jetta was the fastest, but the 240SX looks a helluva lot better. |

I love my car! It is awesome with style. I have had it for six years without any major problems other than the typical general maintenace. I will continue to keep it as long as it keeps going.
Weakness:
No cup holders - but that is okay. The temp is usually too cold or too warm, but most cars seem to be that way. No real gripes. I like everything about my car. I think it is a stylish sports car with a good price. Some people complain about the small back seat, but it is a sport car - what do you expect? It really is just like a two seater. The only thing really missing is cup holders, but that is okay. I always get compliments on my car. I also love the dash, bucket seats, sun-roof, and I have an awesome stereo system. It is not a family car, but for one to two people. Similar Products Used: None |

Beautiful lines , rear wheel drive, wonderful grip and fine handling. Quality.
Weakness:
Could use another 25-40 horses , rear seat room? Tricky wet weather handling for the UNAWARE driver. Despite the lower horsepower , compared to other cars in this class, the 240sx is a very fun car to drive. There's only one other i'd consider in this class and that would be the Miata. I seriously thought about getting the Mazda but the 240 has about the same performance, more room, much better looking and the price was right. The car I bought was flawless for under 10 grand. I would recommend one to anyone who likes a very stylish GT with classic rear wheel drive...if you can find one. Good luck. pretty fast takeoff for a automatic, good handling. the body is just perfect for a racer fan, just lower it like 2 inches and its all set to go. slap on a greddy muffler. Sweet.
Weakness:
mine is a gas eater. if you like taking off fast, watchout for this car. the back seat is not very spacious. i think they should of made it to a 2 seater. all in all its a pretty good car, its been running for 10 years now, and its still running great. no major problems just take care of it, and it'll take care of you. None The Skyline (R33) GTR V-spec, powered by the in-line, 6 cyl, 2.6 twin turbo RB26DETT is not fast. It's advanced 4 wheel drive system does not help it achieve mind boggling 400m times. It's cool lights suck, it's spacious interior isn't very spacious. All in all it's a rotten car. Okay okay that was pure jealousy with large helping of respect speaking there. This car rules! Strength:
Very quick pick up in 2nd and 3rd gear with more than sufficient torque to horsepower ratio. Lots of after market products available. Decent fuel economy using 94+ octance for a rather sporty car. Very good looks and exterior design for a 1992 model. Isn't a Civic or Cavalier.
Weakness:
Tends to have problems with belt tensioner squeaking at high rpm rev's, can easily be fixed though. Rear low ride spoiler collects water and damages hatch with rust. Can be very costly if left for a long period of time ($600+) because moister sits under spoiler. Your best bet is to remove the factory spoiler and replace it with an after market spoiler with a good inch of lift from hatch. Also, if this body problem is not fixed and the hatch rust needs to be repaired, you are forced to replace the spoiler anyway because of the repair requirements neccessary to fix the problem. The original spoiler then becomes irreplaceable. I have had nothing but positive experiences with this car. It's handling is by far the best I've ever experienced, other than a '98 S4 I drove as a rental. Its quick exceleration and belt driven fan that increases speed and cooling power with rev's draws lots of attention. An after market Brullen custom exhaust does wonders for this vehicle and gives it a sport accellerated throttle like you wouldn't believe! Similar Products Used: Compares well with a "same year" Honda Prelude VTEC if small mods are made. (Peformance Wiring, Air Filter etc...) Is a major step up from the "same year" Ford Probe GT. Even with the turbo the Nissan has better weight distribution and outperforms at a high redline of 7,000 rpms. |
