I've had this car for nearly two years and still cannot keep my eyes from looking at it. The styling is great, it is a definite head turner. It has great looks! The interior is well designed, the sound system is great. The ride is low, the car is stiff and handles very well in corners.
Weakness:
Stiff body and sports suspension cause major door rattles. This does get annoying after some time. I have had no other complaints with the vehicle. No mechanical problems till now. The 240 SX is a real head turner, with excellent styling. The front engine/real wheel drive configuration produces a real fun to drive car. Handling is exceptional with excellent manouvering capabilities. I've had no mechanical problems with the car so far. The back seat is small, but this is a sports coupe. I bought the car new and am planning on keeping it for a long long time. Similar Products Used: I've had a Chevy Cavalier Z24 before, and there is no comparison. The 240 SX is so much more sophisticated in styling and design. I have an automatic, and the transmission is more smoothe and is very sporty when used in "O/D Off" mode. |

None I thought you would like some information about this car from a British point of view...Firstly the Nissan over here is called the 200sx.. not a 240sx.....same body but with a 198bhp turbo engine fitted..wich gives it a top speed of about 146 mph..and a 0-60 time in about 6.5 secs..so it seems you Americans are missing out...this car is brilliant..try to get a turbo version....then watch her go.. Love it's handling. Good enough power but with some mods it's even better. Stereo sounds good but with the right mods this car can sound wonderful.
Weakness:
It could use more power. It's rear wheel drive... good for handling but bad on snow. I'm not going to say it needs more back seat room because when you buy a sports car you aren't looking for a back seat. Paid a little over $7300 for it. It hasn't broken once. I had a little body work done to it because some rust showed up. I live in the north and salt & cars don't mix! It's a great car to own and you won't waste a lot of money fixing it because it probably won't break. |

Fun to drive, love the simple functional interior, everything at your fingertips, extremely reliable (so far!). Love the bucket seats. Gets attention as there are few on the road. After owning this car for a year, I still swear by it and would buy anything other than another 240 if it wasn't for that 2000 M3!!!
Weakness:
Driving in rain, problem solved with a new set of Yokohamas, back seat is a complaint item for the people sitting back there, but who cares, I don't sit there anyway! I would recommend this car to all the Civic drivers out there who are bored of looking like everyone else. This car emits a feeling of power at all rpms (don't go automatic, this is a sports car!) I just wish there were more mod parts available, and that the GT R34 was available in the US |

Great pickup, have yet to see it's top end speed. Nowhere to test it really.. Interior is great looking and it came with a kenwood stereo when i bought it which sounds great.
Weakness:
No cup holders. I would definetly recommend this car to anyone who is looking for a fast car with really good pickup and it still runs great at 123k miles. Do not buy if you want good rain performace. Similar Products Used: Geo metro 93' does not even compare of course |

Whith A few mods this thing really kicks, great bucket seats, and a humming engine, make it a sharp ride that looks sweet as well, the 93 fastback, has to be the best looking one of them all!
Weakness:
The back seat is small.... But what do you need a back seat for when you are buying a sports car? after 100,000 miles the factory spark plug wires start to die. Other than that it's fine. P.S. camn anyone help me I'm in need of some Govener help! There is nobody up here that will do it for me, and I was wondering if anyone can help me, by telling me how do get rid of it. I'm tired of having it cut out at 115 MPH, and only be pushing 4 grand in 4th gear! I bought it sometime in June of '99, when it had 91,000 miles, ran fine until I made some upgrades...Then it got better! I put on a Monzo Pace Setter exhaust, Hot Shot hedders, Injun Intake, Nology Hot Wirez...These things really boost the car into light speed!, and some other little things to the engine. Then did a little interior decorating, with an Issota shifter knob (yellow with carbon fiber), yellow carbon fiber console, and peddles. And for the exterior added Catz Fog lights, GTS Solor Wing, and Huge Spoiler to top it of.Now for the sound of thunder on the inside A pioneer DEH1000 head unit, with 2 sony 6by9's in the door's, and 2 pioneer's in the rear deck, with 3 10" MTX Blue Thunder 1999's Parallel wired to a MTX 2X500 Bridged AMP. |

This car has GREAT dry handling. It also offers good mileage and has good reliability. Good looks too!
Weakness:
The weakest things about this car are back seat room and handling in wet weather. Also, there seems to be alot of road noise coming from the rear end of the car, from around the C-pillars. This car does need a bit more power, something like a modified intake and exhaust would help.I had Tokico gas shocks installed, and it makes the car handle even better.I had a problem with the tachometer, and had it replace under warranty, but that's about it. A very relaiable car it has been. The stock radio is also good, about 160 watts of power. This car puts a huge smile on my face in the twisties, and I'm sure it would on anyone else's. |

Strength:
It's a sharp looking car, I have owned mine for 10 years and still like the looks. Handling is unreal with good tires. Get it on a winding road and it's a lot of fun to drive. A lot of people think it does not have enough power, but I live in Pittsburgh where hills abound and with a 5-speed manual transmission I have found the power satisfactory. Seats are very comfortable I think. I have been in cars that kill my back and I have taken this on long drives no problem. I have the factory sunroof which is real nice, never leaks unlike others I have had.
Weakness:
I scrape the front end a lot, due to the fact it sits real low to the ground, but hey, that's what sports cars do. I love rear drive in the summer, but in the winter you might as well be trying to drive a sled. Does not go at all in snow. I bought it new for $16,500 but you can pick them up for under $5000.00 now. It is definatly not a family car, but if you are single or married with no kids it's a fun car to drive, reliable and with gas prices going up now, get's fairly decent mileage. In 10 years of ownership has only broken down twice, once for a clutch at 70,000 miles and the alternator went at 85,000. Currently have 98,000 miles and going strong. Similar Products Used: Datsun 240Z-The 240sx has more room and handles much better. |

IT IS A UNIQUE CAR NOT A LOT OF THEM OUT THERE LIKE A TYPICAL HONDA, GOOD ECONOMY, COULD USE MORE HP, BUT THE 155 WITH A FEW MODS IS PLENTY TO KEEP THE CAR FUN TO DRIVE AND DOES IT GET THE LOOKS, I HAVE 2 OF THESE GUYS AND LOVE EVERYHTHING ABOUT THEM.
Weakness:
IT DOES HAVE A SMALL BACK SEAT, BUT THEN IF YOU NEED ONE GET A FOUR DOOR. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO SOMEONE WANTING A VEHICLE THAT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE, AND WANTS A REAR WHEEL DRIVE JAPANESE QUALITY BUILT AUTOMOBILE. |

Weakness:
Still needs more power. I hate my automatic tranny. It didn't come with the Japanese engine. After installing a K&N drop-in filter, I noticed stronger pep, during take off. Also, after I changed the plugs, and wires to a performance grade, noticed small increase in power and performance. |
