Model Reviewed: 240sx se convertible

Strength:

looks (chicks dig the convertible :). rear wheel drive hits way higher on the fun-factor. good power. excellent handling (nearly 50/50 weight distribution).

Weakness:

the lack of the jap. spec. sr20det engine. what were they thinking? the ka24de is good with its reasonable 155 stock hp, but it's no turbocharged 240hp monster.

the 240sx is a great car to own. especially if you don't have a lot of money and still want to go fast. if you have a choice, definitly go with the 5 speed. unfortunatly in my case, they didn't offer the manual for the convertibles. however this is soon to change as i plan to do a swap as soon as i get the money. and i'll tell you something else, this car gets more looks than anything else on the road. it's rare and beautiful. much better than the hondas.

Strength:

Looks cool, and if your into hooking up cars there are alot of after market products for it, you will have no problems searching for parts.

Weakness:

To many to list, Im not playing. When it reached 138000 miles it was just a week car. On the highway it took a while to to reach 60 mph. My foot was all the way down on the gas and even then it didnt want gain speed, it took forever, replaced radiator, brakes, fan clotch, radiator cover, and so many other things that it will take forever to type.To make the long story short I had the car for less than a year and i spend over 30000 dollars in repairs, it was a nightmare. Not reliable at all!!!!!!!!!!!!! It over heated on me on the cross bronx expwy on my way to New Jersey, It was smokeing like crazy. It had to be one of the most embarassing day of my life. I just recently bought a 97' Toyota corolla what a difference, I actually feel safe when traveling and its very reliable. The 240 sx also is terrible on gas mileage and you can not put anybody in the back seat, they would ride very uncomfortable.

Worst car experience of my life, not reliable at all. Please save yourselves some big headaches if you have one get rid of it like I did. I didnt get much when i sold it, I sold it for $2000, I lost over $3000 dollars because of the repairs I made, any way I cant sit and cry about, you just have to take the loss and hopefully move on to something better.

Strength:

-PICKUP & OVERALL SPEED
-Excellent steering
-RWD!!!
-Pretty much everything...

Weakness:

The backseat is tiny no room at all, hard to get in and out of, the dash lighting goes on and off as it pleases hopefully to be fixed easily

This car has GREAT pickup 0-60 and beyond. 5 speed is lot of fun to drive, kinda hard in the rain. not the greatest gas mileage. steering and handeling couldnt be better.would reccomend to anyone whose looking for a small affordable sports car.

Speed the best with handling, comfortable seats, reliable, won't loose to americanized hondas

Weakness:

won't get up to 210 mph

This car is the best if your looking for speed, handling(only if u learn to drift which is fun as hell.) Its also can take all those hondas talking smack like there car is sponsered by mugen. Well they don't have a real Japanesed power car from every stock part to well expensive aftermarket parts put in by the best.

Model Reviewed: /240SX coupe SE

Strength:

It's rear wheel drive. The real sports car. Sleek design and amazing handling. Good interior design. Reiable engine. So much fun to drive with manual. Stand out on the road(Not many car around). SE model is loaded.

Weakness:

Hard to control on wet or slippery road. No cup holder(who cars?), Cramped rear seat(Don't much care). Low quality sit cover. Could have more power. Hard to find good used model(Searched almost for 2 months for mine).

It's a great car. Can't believe nissan built this car 10 years ago. If someone want to feel the rear wheel drive(RWD) sports car at a bargain price this is way to go. After I drive real wheel drive car don't want to buy front wheel drive car again.

Strength:

Style, handling, personality - people are looking at you for a reason.

Weakness:

Stock engine lacks some power and it's a bit cramped for anybody over 6'.

A real stunner without any real comparison. Rear-wheel drive is the only way to go - pushers knock the snot out of pullers. The interior styling is something to behold as well. The right buy for anyone who wants to avoid getting a car that looks like clone of every other car out there.

Strength:

Excellent acceleration, decent handling, and a beautiful body style that turns heads. (I love hearing people ask, "What IS that?") The 5-speed version of this car is a thrill to drive!

Weakness:

I managed to hydroplane my '90 240 pretty easily. I'm hoping I have better luck with my '96 (but unlikely). No back seat room (who cares??) Bad cup holders (again, who cares?? It's a car, not a couch!!)

I owned and loved my '90 240 for 4 years before I decided it was time to sell it for a V-6 Dodge Avenger. I spent the next 4 years regretting that decision. Three days ago, I righted that wrong and traded my Avenger for the '96 240 and have been on cloud 9 ever since!! This car kicks some serious a$$!! I will keep this car until I die, or until it kills me (whichever comes first!!!)

This car is for anyone who knows a quality car when they see one. Owning this car is like belonging to an exclusive club of people who know what a gem it is!!

Strength:

Fast, Handling, Braking, Looks

Weakness:

Mileage

My car was actually badged a Nissan 200SX, BUT, this is new zealand, and here, the 240SX is a 2 Liter turbo, producing well over 230Hp, and, is badged 200SX. ( its the same in as the 200SX in Japan )

So... dont get me wrong, I am posting in the correct area here!
The handling was great, brakes were great, although they would not handle repetitive stops from 240Kmh too often ( lots of nice open roads here in NZ! )
But the thing that most impressed with this car was its power... 0 - 100Kmh ( 0 - 62 MPH ) in less than 6 seconds, and on to 200Kmh ( 124 Mph ) in 16 seconds, doing 14sec 1/4 miles, this car was seriously fast.
Was also seriously dangerous in the wet..
Unfortunatly, as previous posters have noted, its not made for tall people, and I regrettably had to sell it as I am 6'8"
I now drive a Honda Legend with some mods to make it perform somewhat better
