Strength:

Engine, driveline, stereo, handling, paint, trim, power.

Weakness:

Cupholders, seat design, lower back support, front brake pads.

For the money the car is fantastic. The only options I don''t have are leather and sunroof. The power is really good for a four cylinder (150). Gas mileage could be better but it is a large engine for a 4 cyl. The handling improves considerably if you put some good tires on it. The car is pleasing to look at.

Strength:

Fun ride on the twisties, average gas mileage, pretty roomy up front for me (6''1'''') Proven reliability since it''s introduction.

Weakness:

Interior is rather cheep for my tastes. My rear sway bar came loose a while back, but the dealer fixed that with no questions asked. I cant believe I bought a 2001 when they came out with those sweet looking 2002 (with a 240hp V6)

My trust in Nissan has never failed me. This is my 3rd Nissan, my first one brand new. Nissan''s reliability record matches or exceeds that of Honda and Toyota.

Strength:

Great power, plenty of room, space.

Weakness:

suspension at high speed.

This Altima is a great car. However, if anyone is planning to purchase this vehicle make sure you test drive in a highway and reach 60 miles per hour. I am having problems with the suspension on the vehicle and only had the car less than one week. And to make matters worse the dealer will not give me a loan vehicle while this is in service.

Strength:

Engine strength, styling is a mixture of Lexus/Passat/ but outdoes both. Great disciplined drive, features are amazing, most of all the price for what you get!

Weakness:

Interior is lacking in build quality, Nissan had to cut corners somewhere to offer this car at such a low price.

To begin with, my family and I were in a budget mindset, looking for a car for my mom, who wanted both a nice reliable car that was reasonably priced. After test driving the Honda Civic EX, Honda Accord LX, The Toyota Camry, we ended our search at the Nissan dealership with the new Altima. First thing you will notice is the not overly aggressive styling. Perfect for somebody that wants something fresh to drive in the sedan class. Second thing you will notice is the interior and the features offered with the "S" model and convienence package. Absolutely a steal with all the features offered! I couldn''t believe all the features like the trip computer, steering wheel controls for the radio so you never take your eyes off the road, 16 inch alloy rims, all season tires, striking exterior/interior colors offered, 2.5 Liter 175 HP DOHC continous variable valve timing engine (the engine looks like a million bucks, love the CVTC logo with chrome nissan logo). Third is when you sit inside and start the engine, WOW!! Sounds so smooth with very little exterior sound from traffic. Driving is amazing, takes turns very well (Heard the 17 inch wheels add better handling)and if you step on the gas, better hold on to your ass because this baby flies!!! The engine roars as the rpm races towards redline. The suspension is VERY disciplined, not too bumpy and not too soft, just perfect. Overall, I give this car a 9/10, not a perfect score because the interior seems cheaply manufactured. I guess Nissan had to cut corners somewhere to offer this bad boy for a competitive price. My mom complains that the fabric used for the seats attracts white particles and is uncomfortable at times. The plastic doesn''t seem that durable either, but a lot of convienient compartments everywhere, love the sunglasses compartment. Overall Nissan has set the standard of what a sedan must be, engineering is beyond our time, Nissan has finally planted it''s foot into this industry, actually kicked it in the ass and handed it''s ass to them. Bravo Nissan, love the car, highly, HIGHLY recommended.

Strength:

1) Handles best in class 2) Lease price 3) adequate quality

Weakness:

1) Poor stero system 2) no real excitement

I am currently leasing this Altima for 287.00 a month for 36 months. It is loaded with leather, power seats, am-fm-cd, sun roof, etc. It has every option accept ABS. At the time of me aquiring this car this was the best lease on any car regardless on name for the price, 22,000 car for 287 a month. The car is worth the leased price.

Strength:

Exterior styling, very european Roominess 16 inch alloy wheels look nice 175 HP I4 engine Standard features

Weakness:

Interior materials used Price Automatic climate control isn''t available for the 2.5SL

I went to Benson Nissan today and checked out the new Altimas. I have to say that the styling has been improved greatly over the previous generation. The whole car looked beautiful. The sides are my favorite, it looks very european and stylish. The rear is a bit controversial, but I still like it. The alloys on the S and SL models are very nice looking and actually look better than the alloys standard on the 3.5SE. The interior is a different story though, some of the materials were cheap looking and could be improved. I have to say that overall, I liked the new Altima and that I would probably choose it over the Accord or Camry.
