Strength:

I was in a bad accident 2 weeks after getting the car thankyou Nissan for building a very strong car. The car was not totaled it took a licking and now it is back ticking!

Weakness:

One part took a month to get in the air bag deployment chip. Come on Nissan get your act together!

Excellent handling and riding vehicle. The interior so far the seats are good but the rest of the interior could be much better, but that is my point of view. The Bose System is one of the best I have heard.

Strength:

Altima had great handling and decent power from the 2.4-Liter engine. Styling was a notch above most rivals and the interior looked like it belonged in a luxury sedan.

Weakness:

Interior materials were not as nice as they looked. Some rattles inside. Mediocre fuel economy. Almost too-firm ride qualty. Not much quieter than the smaller Sentra.

Bought it used, traded it in for a Stratus (a mistake). The Altima proved far more reliable---despite a few hiccups along the way---than the Dodge.

Strength:

Seating comfort is excellent, engine power is good, I like the styling a lot, I expect it to be very dependable (based on Nissan's track record and my friends' experiences, and I feel safe in this mid-size car (with side airbags and ABS).

Weakness:

The turning radius is too wide; the ride is somewhat rough.

I'm 6'4". I can fit comfortably in this car. I have tall and large friends; I can get them all in this car comfortably as well. My car has been a solid, dependable performer over the past year. An aggressive driver, I get 20 mpg in town, 25 on the road. I've had no problems whatsoever. I like the styling (Accords and Camrys are boring), and the power is excellent for a 4 cylinder.

Strength:

Team Nissan is great to take your money.

Weakness:

After sale, they couldn't give a hoot about you, but with a smile on their faces.

The speedometer is off and Team Nissan and NISSAN of North America, did not disclose the faulty speedometer. They both are saying NISSAN has the right to have a 6% error factor in their product. Nowhere on the sticker was it mentioned. This to me is mis-represention of the NISSAN ALTIMA V6, as I as a consumer have the right to expect a reasonably PERFECT car for a reasonably PERFECT price. Team Nissan was wonderful while selling the vehicle to me, but when it came down to fixing a default, THEY defaulted. Would I recommend TEAM NISSAN in OXNARD, CA to others, NOOO, Not till hell freezes over.

Weakness:

No heat while idling

Purchased this 2003 Nissan Altima in October 2002, Brand New. In Dec. I took it in because it had no heat while idling. They bled the line, said it was fixed. It was not fixed. Took it back Jan. 3, 2003. Thirteen weeks later, I get it back. Parts were backordered. Dealer said it was the "heater box" replaced that, still doesn't have heat while idling. Heats fine when running hard down the street. If you need more info. on other common problems check out www. altimas.net I'm not the only one with this problem. This is my 3rd Altima in 6 yrs. My favorite, is my 96 Altima that I still have with 140,000 mi on it. 02 was totalled in 02. 03 purchased to replace the 02. Wish I didn't buy. Nice looking car, good ride, but no heat!

Strength:

durability, features with GXE, gas mileage

Weakness:

Tank holds about 5 gallons more then mannual states, have to do my brakes about every 8 or 9 months (do lots of street driving in heavy traffic) Wind noise on front windows. Service from Nissan in general... had a hard time the one time my car was taken in and don't care for their dealers or corporate office. Most likely will keep car but buy Toyota for next new purchase since it seems quality has gone down.

Overall I'm VERY pleased with my Altima. It has only been to the shop for oil changes and a hose that was broken due to rubbing against the radiator. Happy with car get some wind noise in the front of the car depending on the wind... can be annoying at times. Overall extremly happy with 109,000 miles and still going.

Follow up to my previous review. In all fairness, the factory rep checked it and said that there was bad gas,(water in it) and that the engine light did what it should do in that case, and it also explains why it wouldn't start. So, I can't really complain about the Altima, just the gas! So they will complain to the gas station where they filled it up before we took it home! We hope they are correct in their assessment.

Engine light coming on with 300 miles on it, and unable to start it.

After owning the NEW car 10 days, the engine light came on and the car wouldn't start in a parking lot and had to be towed to the dealer. We were told the new altima's were having "flooding" problems. I wish they had told me that TEN days ago. Am checking into the lemon law!

Strength:

Sleek, beautiful interior and exterior Excellent pick up speed!! Sound system is pretty good!

Weakness:

Top speed is limited to 119 mph; I tried that on the expressway. If you custom the radio you can't really change the way it looks. I tried looking into many brands/models and every single of them made it look the radio funny unless if you spend more money into customizing the whole radio view. Not really worth it unless if you're a big system person. Driving in slow speeds, or getting a slow accelaration SOMETIMES feels that it takes an extra second for the car to change gears.

I commute about 50 miles every day on the expressway and put another 5-10 miles on side streets. It's a quiet, very smooth, very comfortable ride that we're considering taking a 13hrs trip with 4 people total in the car. You can pick up speed with no complaints; even with 5 people total inside the car. Options available is very money worthy. Dealership service with the car is great, on time, no complaints.

Weakness:

The brakes, engine is loud, body integrity (paint) cheap plastic and spring loaded interior is in need of redesign.

Well first off I would like to say that I bought my Nissan Altima for its size and available 5spd manual transmission and excellent stereo. I commute 70 miles one way to work and I needed all the options available and the sportiness of a 5 spd. What I ended up getting was a brake job at 10k, 17k and now 28k. I also have had to replace the vinal around the shifter, and the springs for the cup holder cover. Just today my vehicle was in the shop for peeling clear coat (the car has rust proofing) and the 2.5 emblem on the back has turned green like copper does after years of weathering. At this time if I take my hands off the steering wheel at any speed you can see it shake. Just today alone it was in for the aformention problems and with extremely warped rotars I was not even offered a rental at Nissans expense. This vehicle is not safe to drive and I would never reccomend it to anyone. My dealership has been excellent in warranty repair work and I haven't had to argue about anything under warranty once. However when the extended warranty kicks in I feel it will be a different story. We are currently preparing a letter to Nissan North America in regards to the repurchase of this vehicle.
