It''s built to last forever. Very dependable. It also handles great on ice and snow.
Weakness:
If you''re over 6 ft. tall, don''t plan on sitting in the back seat. This Sentra has been a very dependable car. I has been great for cruising around town and can handle the long trips once in a while. It''s been a great car for nearly 11 years. |

It never quits. Very dependable. I''ve never had engine trouble or another major problems. It also handles great in rain and snow
Weakness:
If your over 6 feet tall, don''t think about sitting in the back seat. This has been a completely dependable car for nearly 11 years. I believe it could last about 500k miles as long as oil and gas were kept in it. |

Strength:
Good get up and go for the 1.6 engine. Gas mileage around 43 mpg on the hwy. Good handling and solid.
Weakness:

Strength:
Nice peppy little engine. Great handling. Good gas mileage(from research). Makes a smile on my face.
Weakness:
Well as with most used cars you have to do some fixing. My dashboard lights are a little dim, I replaced the door light and it falls right back out. The worst problem I have is the driver''s side seat belt clip thing is broken, so I can''t wear a seatbelt until I replace it. This is my first car, and it caught my eye. I went to the dealership to look at a Lebaron, and ended up getting the sentra. Similar Products Used: 2002 Pontiac Grand Am(much better power though), steering and braking seems to be the same. |

Strength:
1.6L engine has a lot of pep, with a few mods this car can really fly (for a 4cyl.) The transmission is still tight and still shifts very smooth in all gears, brakes are very responsive when bled properly, the independent rear strut suspension holds the car very still when cornering, I have had no major repairs except replacing the starter and alternator
Weakness:
the a/c robs too much power from the engine. A lot of engine power gets soaked up in the automatic transmission (go for the 5-speed) Sometimes the cruise control will not shift the car into overdrive when going at high speeds on the freeway This little car abslolutely will not die!!! I bought it from a lady who had it in her front yard and couldn''t get the car started. It had been sitting in her yard for six months until I bought it, I gave it a tune up and off I went. A year later and the car has 220,000 miles on it, I bought it with 198,000, she thought I was an idiot for buying it, but this car drives great!! She still cannot believe that I am still driving it. The car has great acceleration for an automatic and I have not had any major repairs, nor had the previous owner. Does great on gas. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. WELL, THE STEERING WHEEL NEVER FELL OFF-I''LL GIVE IT THAT! THE HUGE PARTY I HELD WHEN IT FINALLY DIED!
Weakness:
EVERYTHING FROM THE FRONT GRILL TO THE BACK BUMPER:I HAD 4 TRANSMISSIONS IN 9 YEARS, NUMEROUS ALTERNATORS, CV BOOTS, THE BACK DOORS STAYED LOCKED AND PEOPLE WHO SAT BACK THERE HAD TO BE LET OUT FROM THE OUTSIDE(VERY EMBARASSING!), THE TRUNK RELEASE DIDN''T WORK, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER WENT OFF, IT WAS INCREDIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE TO RIDE/DRIVE, THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT WOULDN''T STAY CLOSED, AND SO ON..... I AM COMPLETELY AMAZED AT THE GOOD REVIEWS ON THIS POS CAR! IT WAS, BY FAR, THE WORST CAR I''VE EVER HAD OR KNOWN ANYONE TO HAVE. to me = none This car is terrific ! It is great looking. Handles beautifly , even at high speeds, sight view is terrific. GREAT ON GAS ! have owned this car for 1-1/2 years and absolutely trouble free ! Grips the road nicely and actualy feels like a smoothe ride in a much more expensive car. SE-R Spec V: Torque, Handling, "Sleeper" Quality, 6 Speed Manual Tranny, Uses the new Altima engine, Lava Seats(acquired taste), 17 inch stock rims, Unique Front to other Sentra models, plus more minor things...
Weakness:
Absence of 30+ HP at the wheels (175 to 140+), little room for back seat passengers for a 4-door, lack of car mods (currently)... When I first heard about the new Sentra SE-R coming out, I wasn''t very excited. I was always a Acura/Honda man, (I used to have an 99 Integra LS) and they definitely are reliable, fun to drive, easy to mod, etc. But the overall price to get the Toyota Celicas, Mitsubishi Eclipses, Acura RSXs, etc are a bit pricy compared to the SE-Rs. For the price that you pay ranging from 16-20+ thousand, it provides a lot of fun, decent looks, and in my opinion great overall quality. I love the fact that everywhere you look, you can spot the new RSXs, Eclipses, Celicas, Civics, etc. but its rare to find the new SE-Rs. Not a lot of people know about the car which gives its ''sleeper'' quality. The car can perform and for its price (that I paid at least) and quality, its a pretty good long term investment... few I bought my nissan in 1995 and i would have to say it is the best car i have owned.Talk about rast! Man you have to drive one to see what i mean. Durable,Fast,Dependable,Easy to drive,decent on gas,Low maintanance,Takes a beating.The only thing i have had to replace were the cb shafts,and they still worked fine, just that the boot broke and i decided to replace them (optional).The catalytic converter went out at 49k but the warrenty took care of it(no cost) however if i had to buy it it would have cost 950.00.one other thing i replaced since i have owned it is one fuel injector(113.00).I would recomend buying another nissan. A great car an excellent value. Similar Products Used: honda accord. Not near the car my nissan is. Lots of troubles with my honda.1982 model. So maybe not a fair comparison because of the year. |
