Strength:

Sleek Styling, Great acceleration, Smooth Ride!

Weakness:

Plain, Weak stock stereo

I bought this brand new off the lot for $12,500. He dropped $2000 off the price to make room for the 2000 models. That was MUCH cheaper than the similairly equiped Civic sedan. The limited edition GXE has ALL the goodies you would expect in a luxury car, power, cruise, suspension package, cd-player, and much more! For this price you could only get a base model from other makers!
Ride was very smooth and great for long distance driving, especially when getting nearly 40 miles per gallon!!
Acceleration was surprisingly good for a fuel economical vehicle. The civic was a bit more attractive but the Sentra is far from unsightly! It's an attractive, practicle car with a good warranty. Honda's warranty only had the 3-year 36,000 mile, while the Nissan had a 5-year/60,000!
Overall, nothing beats a Nissan in bang for the buck or fuel economy!

I like the new body style.Slick interrior.Kick ass accelleration.Lots of trunck space.Great handling.

Weakness:

The stock stereo.Paint is already fading and chiping.

I bought this car brand new of the lot for $1850 out the door.I love it.I test drove a lot of Hondas before moving to the Nissan dealership.Compared to all the others, this car rides like a dream.I'm a manager at a car wash, and I drive a lot of cars every day. From $100,000 Vipers to your run of the mill clunkers. But for the price I could not find any car to top the Nissan Sentra.I recommend this car for anybody who can not afford the so called luxery cars because this car has all the perks of thoes cars, but without the price.

Strength:

What made me pick this over the Civic was the snappy acceleration--you have to rev it a little hard, though. Also handles great for a cheap car. Tight body-even @140+k

Weakness:

Back seat a little cramped, door mounted seat belts, no hatchback available.

I paid just under 10k for it--it was a left over '92 model. The bigest problem I've had was taillight that leaked water. And a few times the door locks have frozen shut in cold weather (not very often here in MS). It is a very fun car to drive--especially with the manual transmission. This makes it a good car for someone unable to afford an Acura Integra or any lower priced sports coupe (if you can get past the blocky styling of this '91-94 body style).

Strength:

Nice size car, with plenty of options, sunroof is nice. Factory stereo was easy to remove for my cd deck. I didn't have to replace the factory speakers either. No repairs needed other than oil changes. Excellent gas mileage for any car

Weakness:

Weak 4 cyl engine, good enough power when car is empty, but with a group of people the performance is slow.

I bought the car with almost 35K on it, for close to 8K. I haven't been disappointed yet. Only thing I ever have to do to this car is put gas in it, change the oil, and wash it. Other than that it's always ready to go. My mom has an 87 maxima, that is still kicking, and its about 130K+ miles. The nissan name is totally reliable, my next car will be nissan. Probably the 2000 Maxima SE.

Strength:

Good on Gas, good truck space.

Weakness:

Poor Warranty service by dealer. Engine problems. Very Ugly.

I bought this car for the sole purpose of commuting 100 miles a day to work. I figured I would be "Practical" for once and leave my BMW for weekends and buy a cheap car that I could pay cash for. So I went to the Dealer and bought this used Nissan Sentra with 20k miles on it. I paid $8000 for it cash and had no payments. The car had some problem with the air/fuel sensor (Cost me $400) and the window switches were bad and did not work (Two broke at $160 ea). I had some other minor problems. The Dealer's response was, "ah, it's not covered under warranty... It's just wear and tear and you must of used it rough!" I don't think so. Complaining did no good. The service manager said, "come on
you bought a used car, so what if it's under the 3/36k warranty." When I had my Ford for commuting, the dealer fixed everything without questions. So after owning the car for 2yrs. I finially said, "what the hell am I doing driving this ugly thing everyday, spending two hours a day in it."
I sold it, rolled out my old 1987 BMW out of the garage and drove it everyday. The BMW has 176,000 miles on that car with never... and I mean never... having any problems with it. I still use it to this day and it runs strong.

Strength:

Very reliable, excellent gas mileage, plenty of power for the average driver (considering it is only a 1.6 liter engine

Weakness:

tight quarters for a tall person

I paid 4,300 for the car with 61,000 miles on it. I now have 75,000 miles on it now and have had no problems with it yet. The motor is extremely quiet and runs very smoothly. I would reccommend this car to anyone, especially new drivers or college students.

Strength:

a true pocket rocket . I have a car lot of my own ,and this baby has no problem reaching the 150 mph mark ,but not always a good thing. It beats a civic a mazda or focus anyday . the only car I have to match this one is a 1995 300zx turbo :0 from nissan

Weakness:

my attena tends to loosen up after high speed sprints. also i hope that my starter isn't acting up on me.

I drove this car on a back road in ky ,and I was pushing hard the way it should be after your first oil change. Anyway after going down a winding ,but speeding road I reached 100mph and it seems to want more almost saying "You want a piece of me Ill take you to the edge and back". I've drove cars heavy and light ,but this one has true touring handling and can take off with the big boys. The seats are rugged yet exotic and can handle me spilling a coke or anything without fretting. it has good aftermarket qualities too ,but I don't want a turbo on mine because gas is high enough as it is. sorry but I LOVE THIS CAR and can talk about it all day. The 2002 se-r may even be better but this 2.0 liter been around for years just like GM 3.8 they are bullit proof. I drive it to work everynight out performing everyone. I got a good deal on mine 200 below invoice pst( it has the performance pac. with sunroof). the alwheels disc brakes are excellent! they stop me on a dime . Peoples I would recommed this to anydriver even old people because of it's good safty rating . I give it 5 gool old stars with respect.

Strength:

Reliable starting. Low cost to use. Nice Radio.

Weakness:

No Power, no Head room, quick wear and tear - Paint, tires, brakes. Poor electrical switches in doors. Other electronics have failed as well. Dash lights, Blower, and Tach.

Don't open the window in the rain if you have the power options. Have replaced the door locks and window switches 3 times. Body design lets all the rain in. No head room either. and I am not tall. Lack luster power, have to punch it to get going. I am tired of beating up on this car to get anywhere. Paint job --ehh, scratches easily. Brakes don't expect more than 10k miles. Tires about 20k on the ones that come with it. Don't go to the dealer for repairs, too pricey. Oil changes every 3k miles cost $25+ and service is less than a Jiffy Lube. Gas Mileage= ehh 22 to 25 mpg. Probably because you have to beat it up to get moving. Overall. not a bad cheap car, but should be priced a lot less.

Strength:

Although I have the 1.6L GA16DE engine with an auto, this car has nice pick-up. It's size makes it easy to park, and so far I have had almost no problems with it. An easily maintained car, also fully loaded, I have come to love driving this beauty. p.s. is a limited edition.

Weakness:

One major weakness is the rear doors. In the winter, the latch can freeze in the open position. This has happened on multiple occasions. You open the rear doors, and they do not latch closed. You have to jimmy it a bit to unfreeze it.

I paid $4777 for this beauty. I got it from a local dealership with only 64,900 miles. Other than regular tune-ups, this car has needed nothing. It makes an excellent first car (although a bit small for the winter...) and I would recommend it to anyone. I don't know about the newer models, but this one was a great deal.

Strength:

This little sleeper of a car packs a powerful punch with its
2.0L DOHC engine producing 140 hp. It's weight is low at around 2500 pounds, making this compact quite a mover.

Weakness:

No power windows or doors. Minimal comforts. High RPM for freeway driving generates quite a bit of noise.

I love my little SE-R, but I sometimes wish for a little
more comforts, so I will probably end up moving a more plush vehicle at a later date. For a compact it has really
decent pick-up but you need to push this car into the high RPM's for it to really kick. Still, quite a bit more torque than a Honda, especially a VTEC. I GTech'd a 16.2 with 2 passengers in the car for the 1/4 mile. No major problems in the 2 years I have had it.
