Strength:

fast car(1.6liter twin cam 16 valve)0-60mph in 8.0sec.
highway speed is better than average(190kmh)
does not want to die even after abusing it a little(little much).
smooth ride(cadillac) and no blind spots
roomy interior

Weakness:

rust penetrated through the rear wheelwells for fumes to enter the car after 225000kms

This was my first car and i think nothing will replace it as far as value,performance,mileage,etc...
I enjoy the ride and still.
My experience was to good now it will cost me a fortune to get the same thing again.
I rate this car 10 out of 10 because it answers to all my needs like, speed, maintenance free, gas mileage,roomy,looks(sun-roof;rims;exhaust;etc)were added.

Strength:

-Powerful engine (2.0 dohc 145hp 4 cyl.)
-Handling is superb (sport suspension with front strut tower brace)
-Seating for 5 with a sporty flair. What more can you ask?
-Aftermarkets performance parts can be found. SR20DE engine is very reputable.
-This car will blow away any other sport compact on the road. ex, civics, corollas, proteges.

Weakness:

-Steering is little to stiff
-Shifter is notchy and sometimes hard to throw into gear.

A high quality fully loaded sport compact car at a reasonable price.

starts every day, loves to be driven long and fast as possible. never let me down. started everyday since i bought it. Good realiable car for young kid.

Weakness:

Slight oil leak, not fast but that could be a good thing. Its kind of ugly. Exhaust is the only reaccuring problem.

It surved its purpose. I bought it as junior in high school. I now drive it 3 years later to bring me to college everyday. It runs great. I bought it with 93,000 and now it has 130,000. Only had wear and tear problems such as cv joints ,few exhaust problems ,and brakes. I pin it at 105 almost everyday on the hwy.

Strength:

Drive it. Period. It's simply such a great drive. Handling is amazing, it's got lots of giddy' up and the steering is precise and solid. (I took this from another review, It just say's it all)

Weakness:

There are only a few that I can find. The first thing is I don’t like is the anchor covers for the child safety seat below the rear window. The covers a cheap and they tend to come loose and make a noise. It’s an easy fix with a little Velcro but you shouldn’t have to do that. While the stereo puts out 180 watts the speakers suck! They sound good but with that kind of power output they should have selected better speakers. The temp control for the cabin could be better. When it’s not hot enough to have the air on but not cold enough to have the heat on the cabin stay’s very warm even with everything turn down as far as it will go. It really drives me crazy when I have the sunroof open and a window cracked but I can still feel warm air coming from the heater no matter where I direct the air. This is with everything shut off. The best solution I have found is to direct the air to defrost but you can still feel the extra heat. When I wash the car I notice there seems to be a lot of places where water gets in and it takes a long time to flush it all out. What I mean by this is you can dry the car off but for hours you’ll see water seaping out and runing down the side of the car! This is not a problem in the summer but with road salt in the winter I can see a problem down the road if you keep the car for a long time.

I’ve had his car for 34 day’s now and I have 2200 miles on her. I wanted to put a few miles on it before I put in my two cent’s worth. It’s a must that you drive it and forget about the name on the trunk. This could be Nissan’s best keep secret. A hot little car for a price that you can’t beat. Go drive a 2001 BMW 325 and then drive the Sentra, and guess what? you’ll be hard pressed to tell the difference. Well, that is until you write out the check to pay for it. I took it on a 700 mile road trip with about half the driving interstate and half on two lane blacktop road. I held it down below 90 on the Interstate just because of the traffic but on the two lane roads I opened it up from time to time and found it to be a pleasure to drive at 100+ . One thing I loved was to find myself in traffic going about 55-60 wait for a passing lane and drop into third gear to start my pass. I would then let the rpm get up to 6000-6200 before I shifted into fourth and then look down at the speedometer and see this little hot rod doing 90+. The thing is you go from 60 to 90 in a hurry! You got to love the power this little 2.0 puts out. Cornering is solid with lot’s of feel. In a very fast sharp turn you can feel the tires begin to slide a little and still have control but don’t push it to far or you’ll do a 180. The car gives you good warning, I like that! I love this car! For the price your not going to find anything better, period! If you want to spend 28,000 for the BMW name be my guest but I’ll have the better overall car for lots less money.

I took my 93 Sentra to Germany with me in 94 and drove that car 115-125 mile per hour every day. I wish I could have had the 2001 Sentra over there. I’ve driven a fair number of cars in Germany at high speeds and around tight corners. I had 137,000 miles on the 93 when I sold it last month. What a great car! Tires, brakes and a battery. That’s it! Let’s see you do that with a BMW. The only thing wrong now is name recondition. Sentra? You Bet!

Strength:

Powerful Engine, 16" tires, fully loaded, all power, fog lights, cd player, spoiler ...

Weakness:

Very nice looking powerful super cheap junk. Hey guys, buy something else. Nissan has terrible service in LA, Toyota service much better. 7 month and my car still have passenger AirBag cover lifting. Nissan can't fix it and they are not replacing the car. I'll go to the court soon.

Before I bought this car, I did research on the web and this car was the best in it's class and price range. This car replaced my Maxima 98 SE, I wanted affordable, more maneurable, but still powerful car. Maxima is good on the open road (135MPH I-15), but for 101 or 405 and city traffic she is too fat. I have my Sentra for 7 month 14500 miles. Very low quality, cheap glass on windshield and mirrors (very easy to scratch, every small stone breaks windshield), cheap tires, automatic transmition started kicking after 11000, ABS was repaired after 3 visits to the dealer.

Similar Products Used:

Toyota Corolla 2001 S, well it's empty comparing to Sentra, but it runs no problem and after every oil change dealer fixing every small issue, and car feels like I just bought it yesterday. Sentra getting worse, passenger airbag cover lifting 7 month, was replaced 5 times, same result, ABS was repaired after 3 visits to dealer, transmition dying after 11000. They have to warn people in commercials that this car have to be replaced after 10000. Put in the trash and get something else.
