Leg room in the back could be better. Great car. Interior looks great, very user friendly, comfortable, I love the (Ricaro like) seats with 8 adjustable positions. The engine feels smooth and strong, I have no problem getting to 100 mph in a heart beat. The stereo is great for mids and highs, but lacks the nice deep bass that I like, so I'm installing subs in the trunk (don't try this at home, haha), anyways, the styling outside is great also. Looks like a mini Maxima, I like the sporty 4 door styling. The 16" alloy rims and sport suspension keep the car glued to the road, where it belongs. Similar Products Used: Civic is not close in performance. Corolla lags also. Sentra impressed me. |

1. GAS MILEAGE
Weakness:
1. mine wasn't loaded I have had this car for two weeks, and I absolutely love it. I was a bit hesitant at first because I was looking for a Maxima, but I couldnt find one that fit my wants or price range. The car I bought had 38,000 at time of purchase, and runs beautifully. It was a GE lease return, and the previous owner took great care of it. The car runs like a dream, and looks just as good. The only regrets I have are not getting a car with power locks/windows or cruise control. Otherwise, great deal! Similar Products Used: My previous car was an '85 civic. It sucked. The car I was driving prior to this was a 1995 Mitsubishi Galant. I prefer the sentra because of the compact design and the better gas mileage. |

automatic tranny definitely slows the highway merging process a little. This is really noticeable to anyone coming out of a 5-spd so my opinion is ,of course, very subjective. Nothing else to speak of. Great car!!! Have almost 13000 miles on it and no gremlins yet. This is my 1st automatic and, although it works well, I find that its noticeably slower on the 0-60 than I expected. I drive it @50 miles round-trip to work @ 6 days a weed and appreciate the ever-improving gas mileage. It feels solid and i am confident of its reliability. I owned a sentra e,1987, and couldn't kill it. I highly recommend the sentra to any and all. Similar Products Used: 85 mazda GLC LX= was a good car but had some quality issues. |

I really have no complaints as of yet. I love this car. It fits my needs perfectly. I have children, and the car is roomy enough for a family of four, not to mention the safety features are great as well. The mileage is excellent and the redesigned body is more sedan than compact. The car has excellent acceleration and corners very well. My dad has a 1998 Sentra, which is also a great car. Nissan is doing a great job providing a great family car at a great price. Similar Products Used: Compared to our 1993 Honda Accord, the Sentra is a good car. It is not as powerful as our Honda, but it suites our needs just fine |

Good Gas Mileage. Low Maintenace. Caddilac Ride. Smooth Engine
Weakness:
Small tires I just bought the car two weeks ago and I love this CAR BABEE. I just traded in my Mitsubishi Eclipse GST Turbo alias junk. This car handles like a rally sports car on tight curves. It has decent acceleration but once you get at high speeds the pick up is awesome. The ride is so comfortable that you feel like you're driving a big car. I have all the options I can get for 16400 dollars. Thats cheap. Low Maintenace, you dont have to worry about changing the timing belt, oops there's no timing belt, they use a timing chain. That's about $500 savings right there. The engine is so quiet it feels like the car is not running. Overall, this car is worth it. Its underated but lets keep it that way so the price remains cheap. ROUGH WITH WEIGHT IN THE CAR. RODE TO FLORIDA IN IT. NOT A COMFORTABLE RIDE.ONE MORE THING THE CUP HOLDERS ARE TO CLOSE TO THE STEREO, RESET THE PRESET ALL THE TIME. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE ACCELLARATION OF THE VECHILE. I WENT FROM AN ECLIPSE TO THIS CAR AND WAS VERY SURPRISED.PEOPLE THINK WOW IT IS A FOUR DOOR BUT OFF THE LINE IT HANDLES LIKE A COUPE.I PERSONALLY SURPRISED A CO-WORKER WITH THE CAR WHEN I DUSTED HIS ECLIPSE.THE ALL WHEEL DISC GET IT DONE TOO.MAKES LIGHT TO LIGHT ALOT OF FUN. Similar Products Used: THE 97 ECLIPSE ALL SHOW NOT MUCH GO.SENTRA HAS WHAT IT TAKES NOT A BMW BUT BETTER BARGAIN |

Strength:
Acceleration and Speed. Conserves Gasoline. Nicely designed. Very simple nothing complicated.
Weakness:
Very very small car. No leg room at all. NOt a family car...more of a car to give to your son or daughter. I can't believe i got this car sooo cheap. I bought with 45,000 mileage. The car was like new. This car was worth it!! Personally I would have sold it way more expensive. I loved this car alot. I changed the back speakers, because they had popped on me, and changed the Cassette player to a CD player. I don't if it was my car or what, but it gets scratched easily. This car certainly packs a punch. Accelaration on this car is top notch. This car really speeeeeeeeeeeeds. Just imagine what the Sentra's older brother Maxima, can do. My friend raced a 2001 Nissan Maxima against a 98 Ford Mustang. Guess who won???? yup...WAY TO GO NISSAN. Similar Products Used: compared to my 1989 Honda Accord, My 1994 Nissan Sentra XE, makes me just not want to drive the Accord anymore. I also have a 1996 Toyota Carrolla. Hmmm...which is better...I'd say their the same....ONLY the CARROLLA IS ROOMIER. |

Strength:
Good engine and trans, tight body-no water leaks in hard rains, great gas mileage, very reliable, they use no oil if maintained properly.
Weakness:
Light bulbs? Auto trans a bit sluggish, but it's not designed as a hot-rod! I have had two Nissan Sentras, both '87 models. The one I bought in '96 was a coupe and the one I got this year is a hatchback. The only trouble I had with the coupe was a head gasket at 280k which I repaired myself. The mileage is terrific... 30+ on these level roads in the Keys and on commutes to and from Miami. The ride is smooth and the manual 5 speed on the coupe worked great. As long as you start out in 1st the clutch will last fine. The AC is perfect and we use it about 9 months a year down here. The cars don't use up tires if you drive with some sanity. The only reason I got rid of the coupe is I was away on a trip up north with family and the notorious Monroe County Sheriff's department towed it away. By the time I got back there was $800 owed on the car so I let 'em keep it! If you visit down here WATCH OUT! They love to "steal" cars and hold them for "ransom". I got another '87 Sentra a few months ago,(early 2001) and this one is in better shape, a hatchback and automatic. I fully expect to have the same good service out of this one, and if I leave town on a trip again THIS TIME the car will go along! I still get around 30 mpg with this automatic and it runs smooth. This one has 115k miles... barely "broken in" for a Nissan! Similar Products Used: Compared to the Toyota...100% better! The Toyotas are OK but if you have to work on them... YIKES! |
