again, GREAT milage. This is the car to drive when going on road trips if you want to save on gas $. Conservative interior/exterior. If negotiate price well, this car is a good deal for "first car" owners.

Weakness:

Lots of cars have ABS standards...Sentra should have it too. More options with interior fabric. The front panel reminds me of Halloween due to the organge/black lighting. Blue lighting would be more sleek.

Overall, good car. Lots of little pockets for coins, personal items, etc. Clean interior. Smooth handling(compared to my Jeep). GREAT gas milage!! 28city/35hw. Exterior looks conservative and up to date. NEVER buy sticker price for any car. My car was selling for $15,600-("on sale"). WAY overpriced. Good thing for my dad's business skillz. :-)

Similar Products Used:

Toyota Camery(1991)-got stolen. :-( But VERY VERY reliable. Jeep Grand Cherokee(1997)-great space, poor gas milage.

Strength:

Good mileage, well-laid out dashboard & lots of little storage areas. Lots of trunck room.

Weakness:

Tires not good in wet weather. Have already had to replace 2 of the 4 power window motors and the 3rd one is on it's way to going any day now. The car is only 2 years old and only 1-2 passengers, the motors shouldn't be going this quickly. Would I buy/lease another one? Maybe if these problems were corrected.

Like the car overall and would buy another in future but have had a few problems already that are convincing me to go elsewhere for my next vehicle. A friend bought a 2001 (same model) and has noticed the same tire problems. Even the dealership agreed that the tires on this model are not the best in wet weather. Skid from stop & not much traction. This makes for dangerous driving.

Strength:

Plenty of power. Good gas mileage. Very reliable.

Weakness:

Nothing I can think of.

Absolutely love the car! I have the SE model with a 5 speed and it came with the slightly larger 2.0 engine. The car has plenty of power in all gears, although you have to be careful when taking off quickly as it tends to pull the steering wheel. Had a small problem with the keyless entry, however the dealer replaced under warranty. It's a great commuter car, because it does get over 30 miles to the gallon and it's even nicer because of the power (even in 5th gear.) At this point the car has 65000 miles and the only thing I've ever had to do is change the oil. The interior is very sharp, although the "Avalanche" exterior is hard to keep clean. Unfortunately, with a new baby and the need to tow a trailer I am going to be selling it soon to get a Frontier. Would definetely recommend it to anyone looking for a compact.

handles fine. dont need to fine tune, unless your a racer. "feels sporty is a compact" feeling. doesnt need too much maintanance. the regulars: change oil and check brakes every now and then. i ran the first 70k and not a beep of problems. i just recently change my first set of pads. pristine conditions.

Weakness:

As you may finally realize, painting comes out very easily. just take your girlfriend to a date and ask her not to scratch the car with her nails.

excellent. i havent done anything to the car yet! (when i had the taurus it was going to the dealer like every month) the usual, just change your oils and check the brakes (i just recently change my first pair of pads) what i like, its that feels like a sport car when in reality is a compact car. interiors are a blast. sound system is a hoot. got charcoal.

Strength:

Power - Transmission - Grip - Interior - Agressive looks

Weakness:

Torque steer - Paint - ABS not standard equipment - Poor turning radius

Overall I like the car, and so does me wifey. I bought it in Nov/02 and no problems aside from a faulty engine sensor that replaced without question by the dealer. Pros: Some good immediate acceleration to be had here, good power throughout all gears, even higher ones. I love the interior, the seats are very cool, and fairly comfy, although maybe a little too firm for long trips. Wheels are easy to clean, and generally stay that way. The transmission(6spd manual) is close ratio, shifts cleanly, and i think better than a 5spd, due to a narrow power band. Thanks to the limited slip differential, very good grip, and it's hard to spin the wheels. Cons: Torqus steerus maximus! In my view, if the wheels aren't straightened out, it makes punching it slightly dangerous-keep a firm grip on the steering wheel. The paint is where Nissan saved $$. The slightest thing will scratch this car-like running into a wall(just jokin).Seriously though, the car has cheap paint. Finally, ABS is becoming a standard feature on ALL cars, and this is a decent performance car, so I feel ABS should have come mandatory. I have to sell the car due to family expansion(baby), but in a year, I will probably try an SRT-4 or WRX next time, even though I would recommend the Spec-V I have had currently for almost a year.

Strength:

Engine and handling. The brakes could be a bit better, but in all a great car. I have about 40K miles with no major repairs, very reliable car.

Weakness:

Interior a bit cheap and brakes a bit weak.

Great car for the price. I looked at several cars before I decided on the Sentra. The Saturn was a bit slower but cornered much worse. The car is pretty peppy and handles well for an econobox. I changed the oil to synthetic and used an aftermarket air intake on the car. With these small mods I am pushing about an 8 sec 0-60mph, very fast little car.

Test drove Saturn and Neon, very disappointed in the handling of the Saturn.

Strength:

1.Enough power for me except when I get passed by Hyundai excels. 2.Good value for a decent car 3.I like the look. 4.Compact size. 5.Great gas mileage. 6.Good dealer services(see below)

Weakness:

1.You get what you pay for it. Not much of accesories to speak of. 2.Made in Mexico! 3.The sensor went out at about 36k, lealer replaced for free and paid for the tow charges 4.Paint chip easily.

Purchase this base model in 2001 and got $1,000 off. The salesperson (Elders) is an idiot but oh well. What sold me was the price since I was working and trying to go to school. It is a great commuter car, enough power on city roads and decent going uphill even with three 250lbs plus guys in it. I like to bare-bone base model so no electronic breakdown and an excellent starter car to tune/modify later.I added some inexpensive alloy wheels and Sony stereo, CD changer and speakers. Again, a great commuter car with about 28mpg/city and about 35mpg/hwy.

Strength:

handling, reliability, GREAT gas mileage, functions well, great trunk space

Weakness:

Had some window rattling/sticking with the power windows. No backseat leg room.

Great car for the money. I also looked at Hondas because I wanted something reliable. This is my third Nissan and I will probably be a customer for life. The buying process was simple, service is great. The pickup and handling is strong for the car class. If you're a slacker doing maintenance, this car is great- I've gone 12k miles before without changing the oil.
