2.4 4 Head gasket? Timming belt Mnfc recom 105K poor city mpg tranny slips a little in 3rd to 4th under heavy acceleration Bought the car as a demo with 5k, good looking, roomy, and comfortable for the price, was running great until the timming belt blew due to a hydralic tensioner that went? 53032k on engine chyrsler recomends change at 105K, hmmm, called Chrysler direct opened a claim, they paid for the parts due to the fact car is out of warranty, while there told Head gasket is blown also, gee chyrsler really stepped up to the plate and paid for the parts again, but I am resposible for the 11 hours of labor total for the job? gee thats only $900 or so, that was the offer from the Chrysler rep, called to try and neggotiate, yea right, was told that is there final and only offer too bad you loose. Think twice before you buy, from what i see all over the web, car is a real piece of junk, i can only hope the head gasket blows a couple of more times so that I can claim a lemmon! Well lets see, how about that HEAD GASKET, and the BRAKES, GAS GUAGE, you name it I have had a problem with it! Constant oil leaks, which they said (dealer) they could not find! Told me it was normal to use a quart of oil in 2500 miles, BULL! Now that the 3/36 warranty is gone....oh, its the HEAD GASKET! I give this car a rating of 1 unless we are allowed a neg number! Everything under the sun! I loved this car at first then came the problems. Head gasket leakage, bad brakes, bad cam shaft, poor milage. The latest, spedometer won't work, will not shift, console does not show that it is going into gear. Had it to the mechanic two weeks ago and they said it was an open circuit. They upgraded the computer and said to come back if it happens again. Well guess what, it did. Oh, I forgot to mention the ti (not sure if I spelled that correctly) rods are shot. The car vibrates so badly I am afraid it is going to fall apart. Never again is all I have to say! Similar Products Used: My first car. |

Weakness:
Oil leak at 50k. Blown head gasket at 62k-radiator fluid mixed with oil. Car shakes and has ever since I took it in for some other repair. Tape cassette stopped working at 24k. 26k car cut off. I bought this as a first car. I put down $4000, while I was paying for college-money I will never get back. The problems started the day I drove it home. The car was under warranty, but every time I took it in, I got it back with three more problems in addition to the original. The warranty expired, however it wasn't really helping me anyway. The car shakes uncontrollably, three recalls(Suspension, ball joints750, shifter cable789), spark plugs have gone bad 3x in 2 years, oil leak, blown head gasket. I'm paying all this money for it to sit in the driveway because I don't have the cash to get it repaired. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR OR ANY CAR FROM GALEANA CHRYSLER PLYMOUTH! I wish I had never bought this car. Similar Products Used: None |

hmmm... well the stereo sounds good, the look is nice, good interior, & spacious
Weakness:
i think we all know what the major problem is ... the HEAD GASKET! lack of power, in the 2.0, brakes are terrible, in a nut shell... not one damn thing works right on the car. since the purchase of this car, i started having oil leaks... i was not aware of the dreaded head gasket problem up until TONIGHT! when i got online to see if i could find any info on how to contact the crysler corp. i could not believe the amount of people w/ the same problem, this is UNBELIEVABLE! not one person has anything good to say about this car... & also EVERYONE has the same problem with the head gasket... mine is setting in the yard right now w/ 67,000 mi on it because i dont have the money it takes in order to fix it, luckily i have my trusty old blue camaro which i bought over 4 years ago for $450.00 as a second vehicle now & about the only thing ive had to fix on it since ive had it is the heater core, & thermostat, & upgrade a new water pump... oh ya... & it has over 167,000 mi on it & the engine is in better shape than a 1997 plymouth car.ironic...(dont you think) Similar Products Used: being in the car business, ive drove many cars, i like the styling of the breeze, i think you could compare it to the grand am, taurus,& the cavalier |

The car is very comfortable to drive. It is roomy for a small car. Very well laid out interior and controls.
Weakness:
Just as the warranty ran out the A/C quit and cost $500 to repair (note: my mechanic, not dealer). Many oil leaks. Cam and Head Gasket at 53000 miles, cost $500 + timing belt and plugs(again, not dealer service) In case your wondering, I CAN'T AFFORD DEALER SERVICE. Head gasket went again at 60000 miles. Haven't fixed it yet. Thinking about putting it on a bon fire and collecting insurance. That would do it justice, maybe. Vibrations and noises galore. To anyone who is going to think about buying one of these money pits,DON'T! Similar Products Used: Had a Ford Taurus and wish I had another. No comparison! |

Roomy, smooth, big trunk, good gas mileage.
Weakness:
ABS hydraulic system gone at 40,000 miles (this is a hydraulic unit that costs approximately $250.00 plus another $250.00 for installation), (had accident-rear ended a car due to failed antilock brakes, so now have considerable hood damage); cam seals gone & oil blowing everywhere at 50,000 miles; head gasket gone at 59,000 miles (spent $480 to repair cam seal; spent $656.00 for head gasket, new thermostat, redo timing, engine sensor, etc.) Eats brake pads like the car has never seen brake pads before (2 pr in 6 months). From what I see, I better unload the beast before I have to do it all again!!! This car would be an excellent vehicle if it were not for all the mechanical problems -- are there more to come??? This would be a great little car, if the manufacturer would stand behind their product and produce a vehicle that doesn't have so many problems at such low mileage. These problems that have developed are because of manufacturer defect and not age or mileage of car. Doesn't it seem funny that so many cars have the same exact problem, but yet the dealer nor the manufacturer will stand behind the vehicle. My mechanic has called Chrysler Corp. to see if there are any recalls with any of the mentioned issues and was told there were not. However, there should be. The American consumer will no longer buy American, if the American manufacturer continues to produce shoddy products, when you can purchase a foreign vehicle in the same price range, but goes forever. Consumers should stop purchasing these products until the manufacturer starts producing better quality for the price we're paying!! TRANSMISSION, HEADGASKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn steering wheel became loose and feel off!!!! i had the car 3 years, till about 37K miles. The Headgasket went THREE times, the transmission needed to be rebuilt at about 15K and the steerign wheel feel off at about 27K. I loved the car when it worked right, otherwise it was pretty shotty. I have about 4 pages of service history from the car fro the amoutn of tranny leaks/oil leaks and such, but Chrysler service was great tho!!! Similar Products Used: None |
