Strength:

room, styling, trunk space, ergonomics

Weakness:

fit and finish, seats, door lubrication, 2.0l engine, steering, transmission

This car has been average. I have had two major mechanical problems since I purchased new. The steering had to be replaced due to a factory defect at 27k. The transmission had to be rebuilt at 65k. It currently has 84k on it and is rarely driven since I have a company car now. I would recommend it for people who need a lot of room for short close to home trips. I would not recommend it for someone who would rely on it for constant road trips.

Strength:

The car looks great, handles good for its class, has tight fell to the steering, reasonable on gas, lots of aftermarket stuff, easy to work on, huge trunk, roomy interior.

Weakness:

The ever famous 2.0L head gasket problem. Brakes need help. Road noise (drowned with my system) Steering wheel wear.

My family bought this car for me when I was a senior in high school. It was a program car with 11k miles on it. I'm now a junior in college, the car has 74k miles, and the only time it has been repaired is the head gasket and one bad spark plug wire. With some regular maintenance and care, this car has served me well and has no signs of croaking on me til I finish college. I change the oil on a regular basis, change the radiator fluid, transmission fluid, check the brakes often, clean the engine, replace the belts, spark plugs, power steering fluid. I also dodge potholes, avoid bumps and go slow over railroad tracks. True this car may not equal up to a honda accord, but it's also cheaper. I think it has served me well as a college car, hauls all my stuff as well as 2 12-inch JLs in a ported box. I put new 17-inch rims on it as well as other cosmetics like a bra and ventshades and it gets compliments all the time.

Even has its own owners club... www.stratusphere.org

Strength:

Beautiful vehicle, color was very nice. smooth ride. Very comfortable.

Weakness:

Head Gaskets/ Motors.

I bought this car used it was 4rs old; 45,000 miles; great condition. I drove it a week and blew a head gasket. Ok, so it was in the shop a week & a half. 1 week later blew a Head gasket. Changed motor, put in a rebuilt motor w/40,000 miles. Ran great for a little over a week----> oil leak from block motor began knocking,-- head gasket blown.
I am very sad because i really liked the car. I had to give it back and get something else. Please tell everyone you know, so they don't end up w/a broken heart too.
1 thing I'm thankful for is the warranty.

Strength:

Sporty 4 door sedan. Roomy. Nice pick-up-and-go. Great trunk. Fold down seats. I fit 2 twin mattresses in the back of the car with the trunk down!

Weakness:

Bought the car in 1998 with 49k miles for 10,000. Changed oil almost fanatically at 3,000, save once. Problems: front break wear (replaced calipers), oil leak, blown head gasket at 87k miles, temperature guage sticks, gas guage unreliable at lower end, sometimes reverse doesn't work (put in drive, then try reverse again and it works), seat was broke when I bought it but didn't notice (front driver wouldn't move back or forward. apparently had plastic pieces that broke), steering wheel peeling, ignition sticking with key in both on and off positions.

I can't believe how many things are wrong with this car. I looked up Technical Service Bulletins and found way too many for my comfort. If I'd known I would have so many problems, I would not have bought the car. Steer clear of this car!

Strength:

2.4 L peppy engine, roomy interior, exetrior styling

Weakness:

engine noise, rattle in cabin from front passenger side, gas mileage a bit disappointing

Fun to drive, plenty-o-room, but I'm a little nervous about how it will hold up long term.

Strength:

This car is has a lot of room and was inexpensive for the size.

Weakness:

Head-gasket, Cruise control, door leaks

At 35000 miles the head-gasket blew. The dealer repaired it at no cost. Now at 62000 miles the head gasket has blown again. I am having trouble with the dealer and Chrysler getting this repaired. There needs to be a recall.

Weakness:

head gasket. I had it a week and the stinking oil light came on.
you guessed it. junk. I should have known better since I have a neon
with the same 2.0 engine head gasket replaced at 67,000 miles. This car
only had 42,000 on it.

Chrysler stinks, won't stand up and do the right thing with these cars.

Strength:

Get good gas mileage, lots of room, good ride.

Weakness:

BAD oil leak at 35000mi which was fixed under warranty. ANOTHER oil leak at 65000mi (Head gasket)

Overall I am pleased with the car EXCEPT for the troublesome oil leaks that this car has developed. I have heard that the 2.0L engine is prone to head gasket leaks. I also have heard that Chrysler will work with owners to get the gasket replaced for $100. I have gotten in touch with them regarding this. I am waiting for a reply from them.

Nice roomy car, 4 door, really like the car but wondering what I got myself into. I have heard from numerous people that these cars are famous for these problems listed below. Is there any recalls?

Weakness:

At 16,000 miles the transmission blew apart and had to be rebuilt. Now with 19,880 miles on it it has blown a head gasket.

My experience with this car is not very good. I purchased it in June of 00 with 7800 miles on it. In December of 00 the tranny blew and now in March of 01 the head gasket! If anyone was going to buy a Breeze think twice.
