Plymouth Breeze
Strength:
Roomy for it's size. Decent power and ride.
Weakness:
Head Gasket oil leak at 48,000 miles. Know of 2 other 98 Breeze owners - both with same problem. Two mechanincs report regularly seeing head gasket leaks. Where is the government enforced recall? Also had to replace fuel pump at 45,000 and a cost of $380. Decent car for the money if they can get the mechanical defects worked out. In the meantime - buyer beware. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Excellent styling, roomy interior, great paint job, handles very well.
Weakness:
Tons of road noise, doors need oiling frequently or they have a horrible popping noise, needs a V-6 (wish I would have bought the Stratus instead) This car has been pretty good. The only thing was a busted head gasket at 40k. Chrysler paid all but a $200 deductible since we had gone over our warranty. (It would have cost about $800) A/C cut up a few times last summer so we figure it is fixing to break. I doubt I would recommend this car to anyone after driving a Honda. American made cars just don't seem to cut it as far as I'm concerned. Similar Products Used: Now own a 2000 Honda Accord Coupe (no comparison) |

Strength:
I can put my muddy German Shepard in the back seat and not care
Weakness:
Resale value Starting when I get in the "popping" noise when opening or closing the driver side door. The steering wheel vibrates so bad my hand goes numb. I am on my third set of brake pads and only have 52,000 miles on it. The oil-sending unit is currently leaking, the camshaft seal is leaking, and yep you guessed it the head gasket also. I am still driving the car and refuse to sink any money into it until it won't move anymore. I can't sell or even trade in the vehicle because I owe more than the gem is worth. I bought the vehicle new in 1997 and yes I was also lured by the stylish lines and the roomy interior, that lasted about 3000 miles and ever since I have had buyer’s remorse. I will never again buy a Chrysler product based on this experience and the fact that Chrysler knew about the problems but did nothing to protect the consumer tells me they don't need my buisiness I would rather drive a deawoo! At least the deawoo has a decent warrnty. As far as who should buy the car? I would not recommend purchasing the car to anyone unless you have alot of money, time, and a second or third vehicle to drive. Similar Products Used: 1999 lumina: the lumina is a far better auto. |

plymouth breeze
Strength:
When it is running well I can drive it.
Weakness:
Oil Leaking, Steering is shaky, Engine mount bolts broke!!! overheating, thermostat problems. Bought with 33,000 now has 58,000 and I hate it!! I will never be suckered into another. This is my second plymouth and I have had nothing but trouble with it. We take excellent care of our vehicles and I can only imagine what would be happening if we didn't. Now I am leaking oil again as of this morning and of course the warranty is now gone. Good-bye warranty, Good-Bye money and next year Good-bye hunk of junk!!! Do not burden yourself with the financial loss and fustration of owning this vehicle. Similar Products Used: Plymouth Voyager 96 neither are worth the cash, but the voyager was better that this! |

Strength:
nice looking, lots of room, sporty
Weakness:
too noisy when driving, when windy even more If you want to save your money and your nerves, never and again, never buy this car. I bought it two years old from a dealer with 42K km and hoped that I’m going to be driving it for sure for next 4-5 years but yeah right. At 70k km. had to change head gasket, now @ 80k needs outer tie rods, front wheel bearings + alignment + some flush all together over $1300. Well, I’m selling it and I promised to myself never to sit in another Plymouth, Chrysler or other junk. DON'T BUY IT!!! Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
Comfortable front seats, roomy interior, very good handling, good on interstate/highway roads, decent interior/control layout, good exterior view, except for rear window. Nice looking exterior/paint job.
Weakness:
Noisy, underpowered, overworked engine. You have to do at least 4000 r.p.ms to get moving, but once you get momemtum, the car goes well. Weak brakes and rotors. 2.0 engine makes this car's auto. trans. shift too much. Battery location. Engine is more well suited for the smaller model of this make. I was not at all impressed with this car shortly after I bought it at 36,000 miles. Right away, I had to fix the infamous head gasket oil leak, like the "cast of thousands" before and after me, who own this or simular product have had to. What gets me,is that I was told that the dealer/company would not pay for the repair. Hello! I think this is a manufacturing defect!. Shortly afterwards, an alternator wire became loose and broke off, having to replace the alternator, and leaving me stranded in Central Florida on a weekend. Another expensive repair. Since,I have taken a couple more trips to Florida and back with no problems. I have now owned it one year to date, and drive it once a week. Maybe, that is why it is still in one piece. I drive an indestructible 93 Ranger pickup on a daily basis. Would I recommend this car?. Perhaps not. I have read too many stories of dissatisfaction on the internet, besides my own personal experience. Similar Products Used: I can't think of any other model to compare this vehicle to. I am sure there are better cars for a bigger price. Remember. You get what you pay for!. |

Strength:
Fits 5 people
Weakness:
No one told me these cars have a head gasket problem. It's been in the shop for the past 9 days, and once I get it back, if I ever get it back, apparently the problem will come back in another 35,000 miles. The dealer I'm dealing with is terrible. These cars should be recalled, the heads should be replaced, the gasket won't cure the problem. Would not recommend it simply because of the head gasket problem, way to expensive to fix. The colour and space......that's it!
Weakness:
This car has been my worst nightmare come true. I was a first time buyer and it seemed like a good car. The car was a year and a half old when I got it and it was a dealer car. From the moment I bought it I had trouble. Oil leaks, trunk leaks, FRONT END PROBLEMS galore peeling paint!!! I would never buy a Chrysler, plymouth etc. product again. Just last week I was driving and good job I was in a parkin lot because the shaft in my driver-side wheel broke and I had no breaks....I was headed right for a wodden island when I was able to jam the break....by the grace of GOD I didn't hit it. I am almost afraid to drive my car now. I truly do hate it. It really is not worth it to buy a BREEZE..now I know why they took it off the market!!! Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. 15000.00 CDN..... I would not reccomend it to anyone. I hate the car and always will. Chrysler Canada also has the poorest customer service I have ever expirenced!!! Similar Products Used: I have only driven borrowed cars like the Pontiac Grand Am....Nissan Maxima....and Chev Caviler. They were all sooooooooo much better than my car. I would give anything to have one of these!!! |
