Strength:

Good size vehicle, great gas milage, roomy in the back seat - huge trunk.

Weakness:

Blew a head gasket within 27K miles (thank god it was covered under warranty), brakes were shot after 37K miles (rotars, pistons, calipers, etc - back brakes were frozen up with rust (how does that happen after 37K miles??) - they needed to be totally replaced!!), steering is the worst (like an 18 wheeler!), no cassette or cd player hurt, no acceleration power.

Nice looking, larger, reasonably priced car - at first glance. Didn't really research the car, just bought it. This was a demo car for the dealership, so I figured it was in good shape (maybe not!).

We traded this puppy before we redid the brakes - got a Honda Civic and love it!! We have had a Dodge Avenger, Cavaliers, and a GEO Prizm - the Cav and GEO were worth the money but smaller.

Strength:

strong motor (2.4L)large interior, good stereo and a nice apearance

Weakness:

bad gas mileage, bad brakes the high beams suck makes loud grinding noise front left tire when turning, transmission downshifts to hard and slips when shifting from 3rd to 4th the ac is not strong enough.

where do i start!i bought thi car used for 12,000 in 2000 it had 19,000k on it it seemed good for a few days or so then the breaks started to make a god awful noise took it in to the dealer it was there two days and they said they fixed it.on the way of the lot it did it even worse!!so i left the car there for another two days, picked it up and it made it about 5 miles and did it again!!so i desided to fix it myself and guess what it is fixed! and i have almost no experiance in fixing brakes!about a month ago the transmission began to act up so i took it to the dealer and they of course said "well we could not find any thing wrong"and now i am writing the becaus yesterday the transmission blew sky high!!the car now has 24,000k on it and i see a long grimm road ahead whith this thing.i should have bought a honda!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Stereo, cute car

Weakness:

My damn car has the same problem that everyone else on here has. OIL LEAK. I change my oil ever 2 thousand miles. I have a leak somewhere and the shop people will say that they just burn the oil it isn't leacking anyweher. Oh and then there is my vibrating steering wheel.

DO NOT BUY A BREEZE if you are looking for a car!!!!!!!!!! They are built bad and the warranty people don't want to fix your car when it is broken. For the ones of you that have not had any trouble you are indeed lucky individuals. I think they should have a recall but I doubt that it will eve take place.

Brakes squeal

Bought the car brand new Memorial Day weekend of 1999.
Other than some brake squeal when damp, absolutely no problems.
Have not been back to the dealer yet for anything in 20k miles.
2.4L 4 cylinder engine has plenty of power for all we need and gets 28mpg on trips. As gas approaches $2 a gallon, I will be more and more thankful we "only" have the 2.4L engine. Four speed auto trans shifts perfect everytime, no slipping, sliding or clunking as reported by others.
Expresso model had all options except power seats, including factory CD changer and power moon roof.
Really only complaint I have is road noise when driving on certain types
of blacktop surfaces. I have been in a Cirrus and did not notice as much road noise. Obviously one of the price differences between my bottom end Plymouth and the Chyrsler was more sound insulation.
Car is great looking and I think the Breeze was the best looking of the Breeze/Cirrus/Status family.

I BOUGHT THIS CAR BECAUS IT LOOKED NICE AND WAS CHEEP,I WISH I WOULD HAVE KEPT LOOKING!!THE CAR IS FAST FOR A FOUR BANGER (2.4L) BUT GETS BAD GAS MILEAGE.THE TRANSMISSION ACTS FUNNY SOMETIMES, DOWNSHIFTS HARD WHEN COLD AND SLIPS WHEN IN 3RD GEAR. THE CAR LOOKS NICE AND HAS MANY OPTIONS A GREAT VALUE IF THE CAR WILL LAST 100,000 MILES,WITCH I DOUBT THE ONLY WAY I WOULD RECOMEND THI CAR IS IF YOU COULD GET IT CHEEP OTHERWISE SPEND A FEW THOUSAND MOOR ON A HONDA.

Strength:

Huge passenger area, great back seat size and leg room, large trunk, nice interior controls layout - simple and easy to use, nice exterior styling

Weakness:

Head Gaskets, Transmission pump gaskets, transmissions in general, more head gaskets, did I say Head Gaskets?!, leaky doors, inept service at the dealership from the service advisor up to management, cam sensor seals, poor interior cloth quality.

The car is not one that I would recommend to anyone based on all of the problems that I have had. I've been through 3(!!!!) Head Gaskets - they tell me that this new "Multi layer metallic gasket" is better than the original fiber one - yeah right!! It's leaking again. Now they are rumbling about something called a "porus casting" on the head. I've had incessant transmission leaks and keep having to replace transmission pump gaskets and had to have a transmission re-built. Cam sensor seals have been replaced several times and are also a source of leaks. The drivers side door required several ajustments before it stopped leaking. The passenger side front seat and rear bench seat were replaced due to odd lines appearing in the cloth. Chrysler said it was a minor imperfection in the cloth. Bulb burned out in the dash, Chrysler broke the AC Controller replacing the bulb. Fixed the AC Controller and broke the dash cover. Several visits later, they replaced the dash cover with the right part. Drivers side door arm rest had the cloth replaced once before and now it's worn again. I have 90,000 km on the car and am selling it!!!!!!! Stay away from Scarbrotown Crysler - I don't recommend them at all.

The best thing on this car was its stereo and that had to be replaced once!

Weakness:

most of the car// and if someone says these are good cars..you never had a real automobile.

I whould never buy another breeze, I compare this thing to the chevrolet
vega or chevette.. I can't believe that the front ends on these things
are as bad as they are it now has 74,000 on it.. Ive put 5 sets of brakes,
2 tierod ends, oil sensor, steering wheel shakes at a stand still, uses oils at the rate of 1 qt every 500 miles and has since I got it NEW...
The dealer said that it is its nature.

I Love this car. Yes I've had some common problems but it's a great car.
