I/We have had all of the problems that are on this site Replace starter,Replace water pump, plenum, valve gaskets,oil pressure valve,Hydra-Lock. do it all againthats it. It is a dangerous peice of junk. Left my wife stranded 2 times on the interstate. do not buy one.nothing good to say about this car.

Lots of power in town and on the highway. Plenty of room for 5 people. I have a lot of mechanical experience and have found that if I had to work on something I could do it my self. Just replaced a leaky master cylinder and got the job done in under 2 hours. and the cylinder only cost $47.00. The back three spark plugs are easy to get at unlike other transverse 3800''s.

Light air noise when traveling at highway speeds but easily fixed with a little effort. Heard bad rumors about the plastic intake manifold but no problems yet. I can''t figure out why the interior or trunk lights won''t come on when the doors are open but will when you rotate the switch, all the fuses look good. just need to look around for a short.

Great Car. Just had an addition to the fammily and had a two door Grand AM prior to this. Needed the room which the Bonniville has no problems with can load the family up with all the luggage and still have room for more. Comfortable when driving long distances and not to bad on the pocket book. Bought with 86,000 miles on it and was a single owner. Looks brand new inside and out.

I purchased the car 9 months ago with 80,000 miles. It currently has 98,000 miles. During the time I have owned this car I have repaired/replaced the following: A/C System - $900.00 + Water Pump - $300.00 "Plastic" Intake manifold - $700.00 Now I am having problems with the oil pressure and my mechanic indicates the cam bearings are going out and the best thing to do is replace the engine - $3,000 + This is the 4th Bonneville I have owned and really liked them. Never had this kind of problem before. I will be looking for another only it will be pre 1993.

intake manifold cost and pontiac not wanting to do anything about it

I bought this car 2 years ago and it has 56,000 miles and the plastic intake manifold had to be replaced. I now have engine problems due to coolant getting into the engine. and now I owe 11,000 dollars on a car that doesnt even run until I get more engine work done.

The one good thing is that this car is very roomy and comfortable. The backseat is like a leather couch.

slow, looks, size, power, handling. I have been driving this car for 4 months and the power steering has already gone out twice.

Well I have to say that I do not like this car one but. First it is huge, parking and handling this car in tight places is a challenge. The brake pedal and the brakes squeak very loud. My old Cadillac Catera (2000) was a much nicer better car. But it got totaled and I need the money for other thing so this is what i got.

Lots of posabilities. not a hard engine to work on (if you need to work on it LoL), lots of room in trunk, when goin 70 down the highway and still has power when you push on the gas to pass.

well theres not to much to complain about i used to own older cars. the seats if they were not broken would be nice, but there in the perfect position. windows are slow, but i got some 99 cad. powerwindows to install. the ABS is out, but owell i don''t really care i don''t like ABS brakes. The coputer comes in and out, but i think thats the system cuz my lights kinda dim to the music (lol). theres nothing to really complain about its a very good car. well one think that i do hate about the car is installin the system tryin to find a place to put it through the firewall and installing speakers, but that just means its harder to get to them. and findin parts for bonnivile''s is hard too. I need a rear brake light that isn''t fogged up would be nice.

Ok I''m 19 This is like my 5th car and no i haven''t recked them all, only one of them, (it wan''t my fault). Ok for a teenager this dosn''t seem to be a car i shouldn''t be drivin, but its probable the nicest and well newest car i''ve driven. i''ve done alot to it too though except work on the engine besides trading out a coil pack thats it (well twice, but it was a bad one that i put in so i had to replace that one). The car has lots of power even with 130,000 miles on the engine. i''m still working out what proformace parts can i use under the hood. The Body of the car is a awsome look to it. It has Factory Ground Effects which i like, my friend showed me the after marked ground effect kit and its ugly. i put purple ground effect lights to give it a different look. The windows are tinted 18% and for you that don''t know thats really dark theres only one more tint thats darker. i haven''t done much to the rims (but i want OZ racing but i need cash), i put on some 55 profile tires which lowered the car about 1/2 to 1 inch. the Leather seats are nice very nice (they were nicer when they worked all the way, but its not the cars fault, my friend spilt Mt. Dew on the buttons. =( The inside of the car is so big. i''m still puttin more purple neon tubes inside it. The Trunk Wow its big I have A huge Subwoofer box in the trunk and a Amp that well takin up half of whats left of the trunk and there sitll room for stuff in the trunk. One of the nice things about the car its hard to get to the speakers and stereo, i should know took me a day to install eveything. The little computer in the dash is nice. i like knowin when to change my oil or do tune-ups. the car has alot of buttons too. its a fun car to trip out if you have a creative mind. plus cops they will pull over the honda before the bonniville.

What can I say? 98 Bonneville I had some major problems with my 98 Bonneville . My cheap plastic intake plenum dry-roted on the inside and alowed anti freeze in my fuel system which resluted in a "Hydra lock" engine seize. I took out a spark plug or 2 and anti freezes POURED out. It also killed the starter after we tried to start it up it was like the starter hit a brick wall with all that fluid in the ports. After 2 new head gasket sets we finally found the problem. Sure wish I would have known about the problems this cheap plastic intake plenum has!CAN YOU SAY CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT/RECALL!!! There is at LEAST 4 people in this news group with the same problem with that intake!! Now ..not even a month later... Im driving to work the other day and after a loud BAM!!! My car lost ALL power! I TOW(3rd tow in less than 2 months) it in my garage and suspect a timing belt failure.. Its 20 degrees in St. Louis right now but im gonna check it in the morn. I tell you one thing! If this engine is a so called "INTERFERANCE" type and I suffered valve damage on my fresh valve job and after head gaskets replaced im going to be hard pressed from losing my mind!! How much can a person take? First thing people say is "It sure LOOKS nice" Little do the know!!!
