Strength:

Has a very powerful engine for a family sedan. Decent gas mileage. Great car for long drives.

Weakness:

Leaving you rear defroster on too long with result in not being able to use power locks or seats for about 5-10 min.

I bought this car with 145,000 miles on it already. I had no problems with it. Once I got to 161,000 I had to replace a bad crank sensor. That is very little maintenance. Besides being reliable, the ride is very smooth and comfortable. The interior is very roomy. The heater and air conditioner still works great.

Strength:

Power. My God, the power.

Weakness:

Jealous BMW drivers that just can''t seem to keep up.

I work at a car dealership. Every Thursday, My boss goes to the auction to buy new stock for our used car lot. I remember the day he purchased my car at the auction. Very well. I drove the car from the auction and promised myself, come hell or high water, that I would own this car. Upon closer examination, I found a 2-inch thick envelope with all the vehicle''s service records. Bonus. It had also been rustproofed and oilsprayed yearly. I guess what I''m getting at is that the car is MINT. It drives like a dream. I have since sold my venerable Sunbird and moved into the Bonnie. There''s only one thing I can say about this car...Oh Lord, it''s hard to be humble.

Strength:

Quiet, smooth, yet adequate handling. Good

Weakness:

90,000 - 100,000 mile expensive maintenance. Very little else to complain about

The 1994 Bonneville SLE is one of the most solid and reasonably priced vehicles in its class, certainly at that time. Reliability was good. Ride and handling were excellent. Power, at 175 HP was also good, but is improved in newer models. I put 108,000 of this black beauty, and sold it only to cover the loss of value on another vehicle. I ended up getting a 1999 Dark Cherry Bonneville to replace it. Frankly, the newer vehicle has more smooth power, but the 1994 was more solidly put together, and is still probably the favorite vehicle of those that I''ve owned. I did have a rash of minor problems between 95,000 - 98,000 - brakes, water pump, and alternator all went out during that time - the alternator and water pump failed in the same week. Other than that, flawless maintenance record, before and afterwards.

Strength:

Supercharged V6 3.9l 240hp engine has lots of power. Very comfortable seats. Looks like the cockpit of an plane when the unique orange instrument panel is lit up.

Weakness:

Takes premium gasoline. Road handling when cornering could be improved. Perhaps wides low-profile tires would help?

This was a one-owner car when I purchased it in canadian dollars with 105,000km. The previous owners traded it for an identical 2001 model (a good sign). The car had been regularly serviced at the dealership I bought it from. Service records were available - which was a bonus. Other than regular scheduled maintenance, I have not had one problem with this car. There aren''t many on the road, except for the grand-am/grand-prix lookalikes. Black exterior with gold spoke rims looks very sharp but difficult to keep clean.

Strength:

Great seats and (leather) interior for driver and front passenger. Lots of power. Traction control and ABS do exactly whats needed, when needed. Nice big trunk which is hard to find these days.

Weakness:

Rear seat not comfortable for 3 persons, even 3 children. When rear windows are rolled down, wind noise and vibration is unbearable. After a heavy rain water collects in the taillight assembly, and pours into the trunk area when the deck lid is opened (Otherwise the trunk stays dry).

Big, powerful car. Handles well for its size. Gizmos like the compass, Heads-up-display, ABS and air suspension have all held up nicely through 68K miles. And the basic stuff like the engine and trans have been solid. Fun, comfortable and no real complaints.

The old style Mercury Sable could be decked out in comparable luxury with a lot less power, but not any more. Nothing in its class has the combination of space and performance.

Strength:

The 3.8v6 its fairly powerful for the size of car. i've topped the car out at 120mph+ just need a very long road. the other thing that's really good in the car is the power everything, I don't think i've ever sean that many buttons in one car ever. It's not to hard to work on it by your self either, but you got to know what your doing too.

Weakness:

The Weight. it is extreamly heavy of a car and it needs a supercharger like in the newer modles. Its hard to find parts for it.

It has been a good car. Being ten years old its still strong with 105,000 miles on the engine. I haven't had to do to much under the hood(except for a new ignition system and put a Racin K&N air filter). It's a fun car to drive. I like cuztom cars and when I was looking at cars i looked at this one and i was impressed that it was very clean and it had ground effects and the gold trim sold me. A few things i've done to make it better car. I've changed out the 60 profile Goodyear Eagles(stock) with 55 lower profile Dayton (now it handles better being a little lower). I was reading on one of the programs i got at school for working on cars and one of the problems with the Bonniville's was the Transmission, well luckally mine was changed out with a new one before I got it. It's in perfect condition besides the driver leather seat needs repairing and some of the paint is looking bad mainly on the plastic parts grill and mirrors, but over all i'm not complaining(I'd painted the grill and mirrors metalic black and it looks good with the metalic plum sliver. One of these days i'll get the seat fixed. i want to put a better spoiler on it but i'm not to worried right now about it. All said and done its a fun car thats reliable, if you like nice cars. I've changed the minds of a few teenagers when they got in my car they were like NICE. 91 Was one of the best years of Bonniville SSE. If you don't like room in your car for more then 2 then this isn't the car for you i've cramed like 5 people in my back seat at one time.

well the only other product that i can compare to is my 69 Pontiac Le Mans. All i can say is that there Both fun to drive and out of my 5 cars i've had these two have been the most reliable.

Strength:

-GREAT acceleration
-Comfortable seats
-Roomy interior
-Very stylish

Weakness:

No matter how many times I take my car in to be serviced, I return in a week or so to go back for the same problems! This car has cost me around 4,000 to repair. I have had the transmission break down on me for no apparent reason. The brakes have constantly skidded. The inside is plastic and is constantly breaking off and cracking. The leather has been worn and started to crack. The sunroof has broken along with the back windows don't roll down ALL THE TIME. The air conditioning NEVER works and to top it off the radiator keeps leaking!

This car is very luxurious, and very fast. The car picks up great speed, very quickly. This car has also had numerous amounts of problems, and it is VERY costly to fix! The inside of the car is roomy and comfortable. There is every possible gadget in there, to acquire your personal needs. Even though this car is very stylish and drives like a sports car; almost everything inside and out is electronic, which has cost me a pretty penny to repair; over the 7 years that I've owned it! I don't recommend this car.
