ok with gas. It is comfortable. I love my maroon body color. When the horn works it sounds nice. Roomy glove box that fits all of many belongings. I also enjoy the convienence of the location of my ash-tray. I also like the car-jack that came with my Bonnie. My car came with an after market sunroof that I absolutly love, It makes my car just perfect. My rear-defrost works well, this is a good thing because I live in bad winters. Still runs rather good considering that it has over 234,157 miles on it.
Weakness:
Sometimes my front lights don't work. My car came with a car-jack but no spare tire? That sunroof i like, but it seems to leak if it rains. You can hear it a mile away. It wants to have new oil every 3500 miles. I am poor. My electronic windows don't work, I have to pull them up manually. I have a lot of rust, some look like bullet holes. My wheels are scuffed up from hitting many curbs. My power antenna stopped working after my friend smashed it with his back. It wouldn't go down because it was bent. And I really want it down, it makes a bad noise cause the motor wants to go down. My partical board over my spare is warped. (it doesn't matter cause i don't have a spare) My board sags because of a lack of spare tire. I bought my car with out any plugs to my main tires. All four were flat the next morning. But i love my car very much (when it is working) Oh, I don't need to use my key anymore to start my car. I would recommend this car to anyone who would buy it from me. I think it is worth the same 4000 dollars that I paid for it at Van Brunt Motors (on upper lake road Horseheads, NY 14845. I love my Bonnie I will drive it forever unless you would buy it from me. ......... Please? Similar Products Used: There are no comparisons to this wonderful piece of automotive beauty. |

its big and comfortable
Weakness:
Gas milliage isnt up to par. The steering locks up. Overheats a lot. Bad water pump. Bad brakes and acceleration is lacking. Cuts off all the time in the middle of traffic and you think that you are going to die! Takes up all the battery's juice. Make a horrible clacking noise. Only people who want a car for demolition derby should buy this car. It is the worst car ever invented. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR. It will be the biggest mistake in your life if you do. Pontiac Bonneville SE
Strength:
Great styling, comfortable interior, great engine (3800 V-6), lots of power, many gadgets to play with, plenty of room, has a great factory stero, and is still going strong with 223,000 miles on it!!!
Weakness:
The power window motors suck as does the location of the power driver seat controls. I highly recommend the Pontiac Bonneville SE. This one has been in the family since new. We have never had anything major go wrong with it. The biggest thing was replacing the A/C condensor unit. Other than that usual things have needed to be replaced over the years (brakes, struts, alternator, starter, power window motor, radiator, EGR valve). I would recommend buying one of this with any amount of mileage on it. This one has 223,000 and it is still going strong. It runs and accelerates like new. I beat a lot of new cars from stoplight take offs! Similar Products Used: Pontiac Sunbird - No comparison |

Strength:
Awesome car a ton of power, great acceleration especially in perform shift. Tons of gadgets it feels like a car only James Bond would drive. It has power everything and the heads up display adds a touch of high tech to the overall feel. Great stock soundsystem smooth shifting 4 speed transmission. Big P225 60R16 Yokohamas nice wide performance tires. The overall control of the car is good except it has a tendancy to stick its tail end out a bit on hard turns. Overall ride is great feels like a Caddy. The ground effects and body kit that comes with the car gives it an aggressive and race bred look. The engine is killer the 3800 supercharged six is so sweet to listen to it sounds like a turbine engine off of a plane coupled with the dual exhaust WOW!!!. The name sums it up totally the Bonneville is really luxury with attitude.
Weakness:
The original rims were horrible looking, gray and plasticy. The front seats cold use a little more leg room not that its uncomfortable but a little more would be better. I paid $4600 for the car when the book value was $5600 and the car now has just over 150000 miles on it and its still great I'm going to have this car for a long time. People who want a luxury car with all the toys and a extremely powerful engine will love this car all its missing is a TV other then that its a entertainment center and anyone can imagine the kind of entertainment this car can provide Similar Products Used: Ford Taurus SHO |

Extremely agile and quick car. Goes from 0-60 in 7 seconds. Looks fast when it is standing still. Black Bonneville's are head turners. Very reliable car. good ride, good handling, comftorable, GOOD EVERYTHING!!! Extremely quiet car with the dual exhaust, at full throttle it almost has the sound of a porsche :) Good gas mileage (19 city) (28 highway)
Weakness:
The only weakness we have found on this car is the electronic components on this car. (1) twilight sentinal will not turn off, even though it is switched to off and it is bright outside. (2) Systems monitor says that both front headlights are burned out when they are both functioning perfectly. (3) Gear selector lights for center console do not work.(also at night you cannot see the gear letter or number.)(4)gauges are out of whack, the heat gauge goes from below 200 to the red line within one minute, when the oil pressure goes down, the temp gauge goes up... repair cost $450, we'd have to send the instrument panel to a special shop in Ohio to be fixed. (5) heads up display is off by about 5 miles an hour compared to the actual speed of the car. I would highly recommend the Bonneville for people to buy, you just have to be a little carefull about the electrical components going bad. Other than the electrical problems, this car is extremely fast and reliable. WE have had no problems at all with any of our Bonneville's. The 3800 series II engine is extremely reliable and is just about bullet proof. This is a car that will last you for many years, you will have enjoyable, memorable times in this car.... STRONG 3.8LITER ENGINE. GREAT FAMILY SEDAN ESPECIALLY WITH LITTLE KIDS. FEEL VERY SAFE AND SECURE IN THIS CAR. NICE DESIGN AND ELEGANT. HUGS THE ROAD.
Weakness:
TOO MANY PLASTICS IN THE CAR. BAD DESIGN OF THE AC AND HEATER SWITCHES, IT SEEMS TO BREAK SO EASY. REAR LIGHTS ARE VERY EASY TO BREAK ALSO. I USED SOME EPOXY AND GOT BETTER RESULTS THAN BUYING A NEW ONE. REMOTE CONTROL TO THE DOOR SEEMS TO WORKING INTERMITTENT AT TIMES. YES IT DOES HAVE NEW BATTERY. SOME AIR LEAKS ON THE DOOR AND WINDSHIELD BUT VERY MINOR. I BOUGHT THIS CAR ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO. IT ONLY HAD 31,000 MILES ON IT. VERY LOW MILES ON THIS CAR. I PURCHASED IT FOR SAFETY OF THE FAMILY SINCE WE DO GO ON LONG WEEKEND DRIVES AND VACATION. SO FAR I DID NOT ENCOUNTER ANY MAJOR PROBLEMS. I HAVE DONE REGUALAR 30K MAINTENANCE. AS OTHER CARS YOU HAVE TO DO REGULAR WEAR AND TEAR SUCH AS BRAKES, TIRES AND OIL CHANGERS. NO SIGNS OF ANY MAJOR PROBLEMS. READING ARTICLES ON THIS TYPE OF CAR, I DO UNDERSTAND THAT THE TRANSMISSION GOES OUT BETWEEN 80K-125K, SPARK PLUG WIRES AT 60-70K, & IGNITION MODULE AT 70K. WATER PUMP, ALTERNATOR AND STARTERS NEED REPLACEMENT AT 80K. OVERALL IF YOU ARE A SCHOOL STUDENT AND SINGLE I WOULD RECOMMEND NOT BUYING THIS CAR. I SUGGEST BUYING TOYOTA COROLLA, NISSAN SENTRA OR SATURN. IF YOU ARE A FAMILY ORIENTED PERSON LIKE ME, I SUGGEST THIS CAR TO EVERYONE. IT HAS GREAT HANDLING AND FEELS VERY SECURE. I SUGGEST IF YOU DO BUY THIS CAR THEN BUY WITH LOW MILES ON IT. I WOULDT RECOMMEND SOMETHING AROUND 0-45K ON THE ODOMETER. Similar Products Used: NONE. CANNOT COMPARE THIS CAR TO MY WIFE'S TOYOTA COROLLA. COROLLA HAS REALIABILITY AND BETTER GAS MILAGE. IF I AM CONSIDERING SAFETY FOR THE FAMILY COROLLA DOES NOT EVEN COME CLOSE. |

Comfortable ride and amazingly (for a car this size)gets 30 mpg on the highway
Weakness:
Not reliable, Have had more problems with this car than any other I have owned (19). Bought it brand new and it's been in the shop more than on the road. I am a firm believer in regular maintenance and do not abuse my cars but this thing has leaked oil and coolant since day one. The dealer was a joke, couldn't fix anything on the car and GM couldn't care less. I bought a Pontiac and ended up paying for a Lexus. Strong torquey engine. Pulls fast at all speeds. Smooth styling for a 91'
Weakness:
Reliability has been bad. here are some examples- catalytic converter I would recommend this car to anyone in the market for a good used GM that still runs really fast. I love pulling up to much newer cars and ripping them at green lights. I once raced my friend in a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I left him in the dust. Thats a 91 Bonnie vs. a brand new Jeep. Enough said. Similar Products Used: Mazda 626 (1989) |
