Strength:

Well built and reilable..........but THATS IT!!

Weakness:

I must say, Im VERY disappointed in this car. The ride is way to mushy
and suspension is too loose. The car has absolutely NO road feel. Its
like a boat the way it sways in turns. My sure the car is safe, but
the ride is very unassuring! It feels like you have no control. The
interior is EXTREMELY cheap looking. Toyota uses way to much plastic.
In my opinion, the Nissan Maxima blows the Camry away in ride, road
feel, upscale interior and engine. Maxima's V6 is the best engine being
built right now!

I reliable car but very unsafe feeling.

Strength:

quiet,good pick up,smooth ride.

Weakness:

japanese made camrys are better put together. paint is poor, plastic bumpers and door handles do not match the color of the car. cheap dunlop tires. very poor toyota customer service.

my power steering failed at 35k miles and was replaced by the dealer under the warranty. when buying aftermarket parts from toyota's trd division i was misled about the price and the instalation costs. they told me that their price is the same as thru the authorized dealers and it is not true. i over paid by about 25% by buying it "direct", and when i tried to talk with the eastern regional sales manager for trd, joe sexsion, i was told that i had no proof of this. do your self a favor, buy your trd parts thru the dealer or the internet, at least you won't pay too much. this has somewhat ruined my first experience with toyota.

Strength:

Loved Loved Loved my Camry. Comfortable vacation car, great gas mileage.
DEPENDABLE.

Weakness:

None.

I would most definitely recommend it. I was knocked off the road into the ice and snow, slid into a guard rail @35 miles per hour. My family and I were basically unhurt. My kids did not have a scratch on them. My injuries were from the airbag and hitting the dash with my legs (at 5"10, I would have struck the dash in any car.)
Furthermore, the car was still running and I was able to drive it over to the shoulder and out of traffic. We got out of the car and walked away.
Can't praise the sturdiness and safety enough. When it was deemed a total loss, I headed straight for my Toyota dealer. They are WONDERFUL to deal with! I had purchased the Camry when we had one child, but now that we have that child and another in a carseat, we opted for the Sienna. I plan to buy another Camry in the future. (a convert. Solara when the kids are older ;)

Model Reviewed: Toyota Camry LE Inline-4

Strength:

Quietness of ride, FIVE STAR FRONTAL SAFETY RATING (Best Pick for safert by the IIHS) quallity, refined powertrain, excellent value. Smoothest and most refined 4-Cyl in the industry. Reputation. Sound decibal rating of 68db @ 70 M.P.H. Compared to Accord's 72db @ 70 M.P.H.

Weakness:

Can be a bit boring at times, although the engine lacks necessary punch, it gets the job done without complaining.

Two-Tone. 17,400. Yes, I would reccomend it. GREAT car, adequate power, great sterero, and VERRRRRY BULLETPROOF.

Strength:

Powerful V6, quiet engine, lots of space inside, reliable.

Weakness:

Looks boring, drives boring, dealer is boring, almost everything on this car is boring. Good for people who want their car to drive for them, not good for people who want to drive their car.

The V6 model is much more powerful than the v4. Extremely smooth and quiet engine. Sometimes I forgot that the engine is on and tried to turn it on again. Roomy. But this car is not no fun to drive at all. Everything is over-assisted, the steering feels scary becuase it is so loose, the car looks dull, the front window is too small that gives you no good view, it feels more like driving a toy other than a car. Boring, that is the word I would use to describe the feel. Pretty reliable. Paint falls off after sometime.

Also, for ALL YOU PEOPLE out there that call the 5S-FE Camry 4Cylinder engine a "V-4" , you are DEAD wrong, and it just shows where your judgement about this fine car comes from. It is correctly referred to as an "Inline-4", the valves are INLINE, not in a V Shape. Although this engine is so buttery smooth it is often mistaken for a small V6. But it's hightech engineeering and dual overhead cam design make it smooth.

Strength:

Great fuel economy, roomy trunk, roomy interior. Quiet, comfortable ride.
Good cupholders, large glove box.

Weakness:

Looking at this car too long will make you fall asleep. The performance of this car is absolutely horrid; if you plan on ever doing any spirited driving, DO NOT purchase this vehicle. The suspension is too soft, and the steering too mushy. I can accelerate from 0-60 faster on my bicycle than the Camry can. The sound system leaves much to be desired, and the car feels flimsy (shoddy build quality).

If you're looking for something to cart the kids around town in, buy the car. It's comfortable, easy to drive, and roomy enough for your kids and their toys.

If you want any sort of performance whatsoever, don't go near this car. At wide open throttle the car moves like a three-toed sloth. Cornering is equally poor--body roll is extreme, and turn-in is nonexistent.

Strength:

Toyota Reliability & Quality. My experience with a Toyota (or Honda) has been perfect. Turn the key and go. The extent of service has been a routine Oil Change. You can't beat the quality for the $

Weakness:

Well, it's not perfect. For starter, the 'pickup' is awful on the 4 cyl. It's a little scary trying to get on the highway with my 4 cylinder! If you can't afford the 6 cylinder, don't buy this car! For a mid-size sedan it's farily roomy. Not alot of leg room in the back; windshield view is not nearly as big as the Honda Accord, but now we are looking for things to pick on!

We bought the 'silver package' which came with bells and whistles (i.e. silver emblem, upgraded alloy wheels, leather, wood finish on dashboard, rear spoiler, etc.) These bells and whistles made up for the 'bland' look of the car that you read about from other people who have reviewed this car. I would certainly recommend this car if you are looking for a sedan in this size and want zero service problems.

Strength:

Very roomy, stylish, quality built

Weakness:

brakes, rear trunk hinges crush anything below them when closing the trunk, some problems I have had with the car.

Very nice car, not sure why previous posts have put down the 4-cylinder, although the 2000's have about 3hp more, but we are at about 5,000 feet in altitude and don't seem to have a bit of problem w/ acceleration, we also get 28-29 MPG and are still breaking in the engine (4300 miles currently). This is a nice driving car, especially for long trips. Also carrying 4 people and a trunk full of luggage did not affect handling or bump absorption at all. The interior is much more quiet than the Accord and is more stylish, the Accord felt too generic, like a machine rather than a personal driving car. The brakes are ok, and have been improved since the 1997 problems, but are still a little mushy. Overall, the car is great all around, not a sporster, but nicer than most family sedans.

Strength:

Comfortable ride with less road noise. Good MPG. Enough power with A/c on too. Over all feel of sturdy and strong body built. Very smooth gas pedal.
Has great trunk space.

Weakness:

4-cyl : is quite on idle ONLY. Engine makes normal sound like many cars once you strat moving. So what is the point saying Camry is quiet vehicle when it is quiet in idle - are you going to start the vehicle and sit idle?

The steering is very instable. Almost you have to steer it always as long as it is moving.

If any one picks Camry for reliability it is OK
But selects for quiet, consider CamryV6 and other models too - like Maxima. In my view if any one goes for a new car better go for other models. If going for a used one - consider Camry because it is reliable :-)
[ Toyota "may" feel :-( ]
