Brakes I have had this car for 24 months as a lease and have paid over $1500 for brake & rotor repairs. After 18 months I was told that I had warped rotors and I must have driven with the emergency brake on for a week. Replaced rotors, shoes and ALL brakes and the car still shakes. New tires after one year? Front right strut replaced under warranty at the same time. The air bag light blinks on and off, which the dealer cant seem to find or fix. As well as the tail light indicator telling me a light is out when they are all fine. Similar Products Used: 87 Camry, 89 Corolla that ran perfectly, wish I still had the Corolla |

Strength:
Quiet, Fuel efficient and comfortable ride. Low service costs and good resale
Weakness:
Underpowered with 4Cyl - should have bought 6. Braking is very poor and downright dangerous under certain conditions. Too few gadgits, including crappy stereo ( replaced mine with aftermarket unit and new speakers). 26K cdn. I would not pay this agian as i feel the car is overpriced in this range. I would buy an Accord or negotiate a cheaper price if possible. I have had a problem with my brakes vibrating and making noise when braking from 30-40 mhr ( 40-60Kmhr). Dealer says within tolerances and they cannot repair under warranty. Says only way to fix is to resurface rotors and drums although this would only cause the problem to return quicker. Have talked to other people who say they have similar prolems and are also getting the run around. have also had more than a few squeaks and rattles. I had a 91 V6 Camry and wished I had kept it for a few more years. The newer model seems much cheaper, in particular the seats and interior quality. I would look at buying a new one only with the 6 Cyl. Otherwise, an Olds Intrege, an Accord, NOTHING from Chrysler and possibly a Ford TaurusMerc Sable. Possible a VW Passat ( very nice to drive, much more fun than the Camry) Similar Products Used: Quieter than the Accord or Taurus but dont handle as well and more expensive. |

Toyota Camry LE V6
Strength:
Everything. For the price, this is a very nice car. It has plenty of power, and acceleration is good for its type. It is a much better car than the Honda Accord, which was the car i owned previous to this one. It has a very attractive look after its all hooked up with alloy rims, gold package, and spoiler. The seats are comfortable for long 3-hour trips. The interior isn't cheap-looking like the accord, and the controls are well designed, and every Camry comes standard with a CD player, and its just $50 more for a changer. Overall there is nothing to complain about this car. It is very well built, and good for anyone that can buy it. It will do very well as a family car.
Weakness:
There are no weaknesses to this car. It is really great. You get wg=hat you pay for. overall this car is fun to drive, has a nice V6, and can outperform any Accord, Maxima, Malibu, Mazda 626, etc. out there. Dont let the price fool you, because it is worth much more that I payed for. I timed myself and got this Camry to go from 0-60MPH in about 7.8sec. I would definatly pay more for this car if I had to. And if you have a late model Camry, such as a 1997, my friend says that there is a big difference between the 1997, and the 2001, and he's gonna trade his old one in for a new one. He says that Toyota fixed alot of things in the new ones. I am really happy with this car, and it will do good as any type of car. If your on a budget, and want more for your money, go for the Camry. Similar Products Used: I also have a BMW 540i, and 330xi, and it is my first toyota. We use this car as a family car for long trips. It cant be compared to my other cars, but for a toyota, it is a pretty good car. |

/Toyota Camery LE
Strength:
Runs smooth, handles well, big trunk space, air condition works well
Weakness:
Timing bell stretched less the 60,000 miles which makes the engine unstable, no power and squeky noise. Toyota does not warranty it unless is completely cut in half. Engine can not start when cold 4 times during the 3 years of ownership. It appears that the cold start idle value stuck every 6 months. It has been cleaned once by dealer and replaced the assembly once. Problem re-appear in 6 months. It has to cranked 6 times to start the engine. Paid $21000. I would not recommended it. Honda Accord is a better choice Similar Products Used: None |

Camry
Strength:
Very well built, so far no squeaks or rattles. Very quiet car, even with 4 cylinder engine. Stereo is very good, trunk is large; a great car for long distances. So far only two minor things have gone wrong with the car and they were easily fixed by a competent service department.
Weakness:
Base engine could use more power; suspension, while comfortable,is a bit too soft. Large gront and rear overhangs cause car to bottom out. The styling is about as exciting as white bread, but, on the other hand, it will not look dated in only a few short years. Price paid about $17,500 for a CE with various equipment packages. I would definitely recommend the Camry for those looking for competent, comfortable and reliable transportation. But if you are looking for excitement, look elsewhere. Mine has the 5 speed manual transmission, which gets the most out of the base engine and makes the car peppier than the automatic. Similar Products Used: Honda Accord -- nicer interior, yet not as quiet (road noise) |

This car does not handle well. Period. It's suspension is way too soft, steering is too over-assisted (and actually, feels unsafe in wet weather) I would not recommend this car to anybody. Because: Similar Products Used: Honda Accord 4Cyl, '97 model |

Strength:
It is quite, popular. The ride is smooth. It is comfortable siting inside.
Weakness:
Accelaration is slow. Suspension is too soft so that it leans a lot when cornering. The deal is (MSRP - 3500). Afterward, I found a lot deals are (MSRP-5000). :(. I would recommend it for commute use and most of my friends because they are defensive drivers. Similar Products Used: Ford Focus (not comparable), Honda Accord (almost the same, also, it seems they are cuting price when saling this year. supprise.) |
