Camry LE 4 cyl
Strength:
- Power (for its 4 cyls)
Weakness:
- Only 1 air bag This has been a good purchase. I paid about $1,500 dollars less than market price in 1999 in my country. Sometimes i like to acelerate up to 80-95 mph (on bigs highways) and its fills good. I thought to buy an Accord but also see that almost all of them has more problems than Camry. This car has 138,000 miles and i'm gonna run another 20,000 before think in sale it. I don't like Camry's new style, so i don't know if i'm gonna buy one; but may be the change is gonna be to a SUV (may be Rav4). Strength:
Dependable, Quite and smooth ride, nice radio/tape/cd player, 35 MPG at 80 MPH, peppy 4 cyl engine, 4-speed auto tranny shifts clean & crisp.
Weakness:
Front seats were designed for a tiny male or female. The average male would get a back ache after a 2 hour ride. Nice cup holders but wrong location. Spartan/Cheap looking for the money it costs. I guess this is the best USA can do now days. Lets see where do I begin. Oh yes the uncomfortable front seats. Bouncy springboard ride. Wanders all over the road, wherever it wants to. Check engine light that comes and goes as it pleases. Painted bumpers that do not match the body color. Paint that chips at the drop of a hat. Similar Products Used: 89 mazda 626, blows the camry away, beat it in ride/comfort/MPG and cosmetic look. 93 tarus GL, camry beats the hell out of the tarus. |

Camry L# (4 cyl)
Strength:
Reliability, gas mileage, styling, overall performance...
Weakness:
Brakes are less then I'd expect from a Camry. The factory tires absolutely suck!!! If you own one with Dunlop tires, replace them soon! Mine blew out at 27,000 and caused me to total my baby. I loved this car. It was very well equipped for an LE. We had it for 2 years but lost it this September due to poor quality tires. I was driving on a mountain road when my tire blew out and I slammed into the side of the mountain. The car was a real body guard. I walked out of the car with a sore back and neck. All who saw the car where shocked that I was not severely injured. I've gotta say, I really miss this car. She was immaculate inside and out. I don't care too much for the newer styles of the Camry, but that's just my opinion. Similar Products Used: Ford Taurus- better except the Taurus has a heavier and more solid feel to it when driving. |

Strength:
Very good engine, overall reliability, nice look, very comfortable interior,
Weakness:
a little rattle noise from dashboard, and a little rough transmission shifting Of course, since the Camry is front side drive it doesn't drive like for example Mercedes. But in its class of cars the Camry is certainly the best. Toyota's engine become very well made after late 80-s and the Camry's 3.0L is especially good. The Camry I have now has 180,000km it's 112,000 miles, still originally painted. The car doesn't needs any repair or tune up at all. The engine is absolutely dry, no one leak. All I've done to it, I've replaced the timing belt just to drive worries free, I've replaced few faulty bulbs and polished the car thoroughly. I've also covered the car bottom with rubberized undercoat and polished dashboard. If you buy the Camry and take a good care of it it will last very long. I'm not going to keep it forever just because I like to change cars often, but I'm sure the next owner of my Toyota will be satisfied. By the way, want to know how to check a car prior purchase and how to maintain it? check my site www.samarins.com Similar Products Used: It's my forthy forth car after many other Toyotas, Nissans, Mercedes, BMW, Ford, Renault, Hynday, Mazda, etc. So I had something to compare with. |

Strength:
Powered, comfort, efficient, coupe. Nice styling with the sport package.
Weakness:
Trunk door does not stay up well in wind, may hit you on the head if not paying attention. This car is great, have a 94 V6 LE Coupe, with the sport package, very quick, quiet and efficient. No problems yet, only the regular maintnence and oil changes. One squeak in the driver side door, but not a problem for a car with 156,000km on it. WONDERFUL! |

Strength:
Rock solid reliability, this is the third Camry our family has had. They just dont die. The car is extreemly comfortable and quiet, and good on gas. They have all been 4cyls , with reasonable acceleration. The Camry is the #1 selling car in North America for a reason. Toyota prices the Camry slightly above the competition , but it is for a good reason. You get what you pay for.
Weakness:
The 88 had some rust problems, other than that it was a good car. These cars continue to be the best family sedan that you can buy for your money. The only thing that I would suggest when buying one of these cars is make sure that you get one that is built in Japan. The ones built in KY seem to have more problems than the ones from Japan. Other than that they are great cars. GO TOYOTA! I will not hesitate to reccomend these cars to anyone and will buy another one in a split second. Similar Products Used: 99 Honda Accord SE |

Toyota Camry XLE V6
Strength:
Super smooth and quiet V6, strong reliability, top-notch quality, very refined and powerful
Weakness:
With the 16" wheels, the ride can sometimes be a little too firm over bumps...that's about it Our Camry XLE V6 is nothing short of an excellent vehicle. There's little more that you can ask for, even in a car much more expensive than the Camry. It's reliable, quiet, and super-smooth, and delivers impressive performance with the V6 engine. A superb piece. Why someone would choose a VW Passat over a Camry is beyond me. It seems that they want 'handling', but, the reality is, that most of our driving time is on the highway, not on a race course, or the 'off ramps'. I highly reccomend this car Similar Products Used: Honda Accord: Camry is more refined, smoother, quieter, I also prefer the exterior styling of the Camry |

Camry LE
Strength:
Reliability, looks, roomy, great highway driving, great gas mileage for its size (23-32mpg), nice stereo system (includes both CD and cassette), good cup holders (getting more & more important these days!) with 2 for the back seat as well, good acceleration with plenty of power for a 4cyl.
Weakness:
The 2000 Camry has more desireable features than my 1992 Camry, but I still feel that the older Camry had a better quality feel to it (hard to describe). Although I feel I got a good price on a used 1-yr-old Camry, I think the new one's are too expensive. With that said, $ for $ on a new car, feature-wise the Accord is probably a better deal, but the Camry still has a much better ride. I am generally pleased with the Camry. Unfortunately, there are so many on the road that it detracts from the fact that the newer Camrys are acutally very good-looking cars. I had a 1992 Camry LE which I traded in on this 2000 LE, and I must say the older Camry felt better built, and had a smoother ride. This was a bit of a disappointment to me, but I have become accustomed to the new one. The ride was a bit noisy for a Camry, but once I put high quality tires on to replace the cheapos from the dealership, the ride improved dramatically and is now very quiet. It handles decently (not a sports car by any means), but the softer quiet ride is your compensation. And you simply cannot beat the Camrys' reliability and safety rating. I've owned several cars over the years....three accords (all good cars, no complaints, just bored with them - also found the newer ones to be of less quality than the older), Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd (very nice, but so impractical - poor reliability), and this is my third Camry - absolutely problem free cars. So far, I'm starting to feel numb towards cars but I still appreciate reliability and safety, good looks, a good stereo system, a sunroof, keyless entry, roominess and a quiet ride. (The Accord actually does a good job of this too, but the Camry does have a nicer ride, gets better gas mileage and looks a bit better than the Accord). I can go up the mountains in the winter with the front wheel drive (don't need the Cherokee for that after all), strap my bikes on the back in the summer (don't need the wagon), drive the kids around town doing errands, and look elegant on a night out; all with great gas mileage. My Camry meets all of these requirements; and I feel like I got a lot of car with a great reputation for a good price. Similar Products Used: Honda Accord EX & V6 EX- similar but Camry rides better, looks better (even though they practically look the same), and the Camry gets a bit better gas mileage. |

Camry LE
Strength:
Good ride.
Weakness:
Costs too much. Tires wore out too fast. brakes wore out even faster. For a new car it pretty much was a loser. Noone should ever have to pay $187 bucks for a brake job on a brand new vehicle with less than 12000 miles. Has a nice look. Paint scratches easy. Original tires wore out at 15000 miles with proper rotation. Brakes had to be replaced after 12,000 miles. Ride is good. Similar Products Used: Never knew any other car that had problems the dealership wouldn't fix before. Guess that's a new thing. |

Weakness:
cd changer jams sometimes smooth a silk. Like a greased ballbearing. Can't imagine a es 300 if it is smoother and quieter. Engine can really move this baby - shut the door and it whispers "quality". love the dual exhaust (why did they change it) - wish is was one each side like a v6 accord though. This car has 72,000 kms on it so I will be owning it for another 10 years. Lucky me. Similar Products Used: 97 prelude - awesome car - power to high in the rev range though |
